Chapter 144 Black Dragon

If Luo Jiujiang just wanted to win, then using his soul to challenge Chen Yuan was obviously not a good idea.

It was obvious that Chen Yuan was already an experienced veteran in manipulating and utilizing the soul, while Luo Jiujiang had just started from scratch a few months ago. Until now, if he wanted to conjure up a child from Yin Bansi's inner demon calamity, he had to use his own knife as a basis.

But Luo Jiujiang's goal is not to win, he wants to become stronger and also wants to make friends with Chen Yuan.

It was obvious that Shen Yuan was no opportunist. His methods of soul manipulation far surpassed Luo Jiujiang's. If he had been determined, he could have set up a maze for Luo Jiujiang and completely defeated him in the unfamiliar soul realm. But facing Luo Jiujiang, who was ready to attack, Shen Yuan simply drew his sword.

They stood facing each other, as if looking into a strange mirror. Each held the scabbard in his left hand and the blade in his right. Both scabbards were the same silver-gray color, and the two sharp blades gradually began to emit a gentle white light.

The white light condensed by Luo Jiujiang is the source of Tao, and what Chen Yuan uses is——

The two men turned their gazes towards each other. Their eyes met. Chen Yuan whispered, "Dao Yuan?" while Luo Jiujiang exclaimed, "Mirage Pearl."

Of course Chen Yuan would have a Mirage Pearl, as Jiaotu was his legitimate master. Luo Jiujiang wasn't surprised, but rather a bit puzzled. After all, that was how Master Gongyi had mistaken him for this.

Luo Jiujiang still remembers the help that mirage bead gave him. He didn't spend a long time with the bead in his dantian, but it was enough time for him to have great goodwill towards the mirage bead that took the initiative to help him sort out and widen his meridians.

But precisely because he had spent time with the Mirage Pearl before, he knew its power was no match for the Dao Source. Comparing the two was like a cup of water trying to damage the ocean; the distance between them was so vast that it was practically impossible to compare them.

If Chen Yuan didn't change his tactics, the competition wouldn't even have to continue. Luo Jiujiang was confident that he would lose.

A flicker of admiration flashed across Chen Yuan's eyes. He, like Luo Jiujiang, had clearly realized the problem he faced. A moment later, with a swish, Chen Yuan decisively closed his scabbard. He strapped the longsword back to his waist and once again extended his fingers in Luo Jiujiang's direction.

The last time he did this, he used his spirit to form a net large enough to catch Luo Jiujiang. But this time, Chen Yuan was obviously more serious and he took out a more powerful trump card.

Perhaps because the meaning he wanted to convey this time contained a word that was difficult to capture with just a glance, Chen Yuan didn't attempt to communicate through his eyes. He simply said, "You are a sword cultivator, but I am not."

He is not a sword cultivator, he is a strange beast, a black dragon.

As his deep voice echoed, a world surged and spread out like a tide. This world first silently submerged Shen Yuan's body, then Luo Jiujiang's. The edge of the world stretched infinitely, until it seemed limitless to the eye, like every dream Luo Jiujiang had ever visited.

The sound of crashing waves filled his ears, and the fresh scent of the sea lingered in his nose. Luo Jiujiang surveyed his surroundings with curiosity, realizing he was now on an island. It was small, surrounded by the sea. It was high tide, and behind him, white waves repeatedly crashed onto the golden sand.

——Welcome. Shen Yuan stared at Luo Jiujiang with a pair of dark eyes.

It seems that this is a small world that belongs only to Chen Yuan.

Luo Jiujiang realized that he had asked the question unconsciously, because Chen Yuan quickly added to his thoughts: "It's just a prototype."

"Isn't that scary?" Shen Yuan's expressive gaze lingered on Luo Jiujiang's face for a moment. After confirming that Luo Jiujiang was in good condition, Shen Yuan opened his arms, closed his eyes, and relaxed his entire posture.

"I was born in the sea." Chen Yuan said softly, "This is the source of my power."

"Thank you for the surprise. I haven't felt such a vivid sea in almost half a year." Luo Jiujiang smiled, his fingers gently stroking the rough handle of the knife. "What a coincidence, the sea is also my home."

Shen Yuan responded with a deep look.

The next moment, the sound of tearing silk was heard amid the sounds of crashing waves and sea breeze. Chen Yuan's body was changing at a speed visible to the naked eye - his eyes turned into a transparent golden color, black scales like scales appeared on his skin, and his two legs were gradually merging into a tail like a snake or a dragon. All of this was extremely similar to the process of Han Qianling's transformation.

"Mine." Shen Yuan repeated stubbornly.

At this moment, he has transformed into a dragon. It would obviously be a bit strange to speak human language with the voice of a strange beast. At least this sentence sounds more like a pretentious burp.

Luo Jiujiang really tried his best to hold back his laughter.

"Okay, this is your sea." Luo Jiujiang said in a gentle voice. It was obvious that being on the island made him feel very happy. "I will have my own sea in the future. That will be mine."

The black dragon remained noncommittal. A moment later, it opened its massive mouth and blew out a long, scorching breath: "Roar!"

Luo Jiujiang dodged, slapped the sea behind him with his backhand, and used the force to bounce up. He somersaulted four times in mid-air, dodging the black dragon's six consecutive attacks.

Originally, when the two stood facing each other, Luo Jiujiang looked smaller than Chen Yuan. Now, Chen Yuan had transformed into a dragon, coiling up to almost occupy half of the small island beneath their feet. Thus, Luo Jiujiang and Chen Yuan, simply by comparing their sizes, were like sesame seeds and watermelons.
