The figure was like a dream, and it made people intoxicated and mesmerized.
"Qianling..." Luo Jiujiang muttered. He subconsciously stretched out his hand and grabbed in vain, but only grasped empty space in the black dust all over the sky.
A handful of air floated lightly in his palm, and it seemed as if his heart suddenly became empty.
But before Luo Jiujiang could lower his empty hand, the misty, ethereal figure turned around. His expression was indifferent, as if nothing in the world mattered to him. It was none other than Han Qianling himself. He raised his eyes, and as they met Luo Jiujiang's, the coldness of his expression vanished like melting snow, his face revealing a touch of worldly warmth.
He shook his arm, pulling away the black dust between them, and the next moment he rushed forward and held Luo Jiujiang's hand tightly.
The two palms pressed together, both feeling equally hot and warm, just like two burning young hearts.
"The clouds have cleared and the sun has appeared." Han Qianling had a smile on his lips, and his eyes were curved in a rare way. "I've caught you, my sun."
He pulled Luo Jiujiang's arm with a little force, and Luo Jiujiang was pulled in front of him. Their shoulders bumped lightly, and then they pressed their necks together without separating. For a moment, they could even hear each other's heartbeats clearly.
"Qianling." Luo Jiujiang muttered Han Qianling's name, with thousands of words surging in his heart, but even if there were a hundred twists and turns, none of them could express his love more deeply than these two simple words.
"Why are you here?" Luo Jiujiang didn't let go of Han Qianling until their body heat was transmitted to each other through their clothes. He asked softly, "Are you also trapped in this underground palace? Have you been here since we separated?"
"What a strange choice of words." Luo Jiujiang heard Han Qianling laughing. "Does your visit to Mr. Luo this morning count as separation?"
Luo Jiujiang looked up in surprise: "Morning? We clearly..."
He paused mid-sentence, as if someone had simultaneously smeared white paint across his brain, obliterating any thoughts that had surfaced with a bucket of lime. He swallowed in confusion, vaguely sensing a layer of black dust surrounding him, each speck as round as a grain of sand.
But what was floating down around him was clearly not the black dust, but deep snowflakes as white as waves.
Luo Jiujiang's eyes gradually became empty, and the shadow of the world in front of him was reflected blankly in his ink-black pupils. He racked his brains but could not recall the answer to a question: Where was he half an incense stick ago?
Seeing him staring at the falling flowers, Han Qianling caught a flower that had just fallen from a branch and carefully pinned it to Luo Jiujiang's collar. His fingers were slender and long, with distinct joints, making it difficult to tell which was more like jade, the flower or his hand.
"Don't be dazed, let's go." He tapped Luo Jiujiang on the shoulder.
"Wait." Luo Jiujiang said subconsciously, "And Brother Xie..."
Han Qianling really stopped as he was told, still smiling, and asked in a gentle tone, "What are you thanking me for?"
Yeah, what are you thanking me for?
The words that I could just blurt out were shattered in an instant, collapsing in my mind like a slug sprinkled with salt, turning into a pool of pus at the slightest touch.
"Thank you, thank you..." Luo Jiujiang muttered the syllable in a daze. Unlike his usual fluent responses, he was so clumsy that he couldn't utter the second word.
Even so, he still stubbornly and persistently circled around the word "thank you", as stubborn as a cat chasing its own short tail.
Han Qianling patiently gazed at Luo Jiujiang, listening to him repeat the word "thank you" over and over again, his face never once showing a trace of annoyance. After a long moment, he jokingly said, "Jiujiang, you're not trying to thank me, are you? Why would we have to do this?"
His words were more like a revelation than a joke. Luo Jiujiang's eyes suddenly cleared, and he thought as if he had suddenly realized something: So I wanted to thank Qianling.
But what was he going to thank Qianling for? Just as this question was forming in his mind, Han Qianling grabbed his wrist and urged him softly, "Let's go. We don't want to keep Second Brother waiting."
Indeed. Luo Jiujiang nodded, thinking vaguely that he really shouldn't have let his second brother wait for him. After all, the White Tiger Sect had strict rules, and he could only come back from the White Tiger Sect once a year... No!
"What's wrong?" Han Qianling turned around and smiled knowingly, "You've been distracted today. So it must be that Mr. Luo trained you too hard yesterday and made you sick?"
"My second brother just came back once half a year ago, why is he back home again now?" It was no longer as difficult and sluggish as when he just recalled it. This memory was clear and distinct in Luo Jiujiang's mind, and the doubts were as big as a sieve and could not be concealed.
Han Qianling didn't seem to understand why he asked this question. He shook his head helplessly and smiled, but his voice was still calm: "You really don't remember? Not only the second brother, but the eldest brother is back too."
"...Big brother too?"
"Well, your parents are both here, and the old lady is in better health. My eldest and second brothers returned home early, and Mr. Luo's leg has been healed. He's strolling around the Snow Garden with a nonchalant expression. As for me, of course I'll always be by your side."
Han Qianling recounted to Luo Jiujiang the recent situation of those he cared about most. His tone was relaxed, his expression was comfortable, and the corners of his lips were raised high.
He smiled so beautifully, his face, which had always been as cold as ice and jade, was completely relaxed, like a painting full of spring, like a poem flowing smoothly. His beauty was pure to the extreme, and he even looked a little weird.
"Come on, Jiujiang, follow me." Han Qianling said softly, "Let's go together to meet all the people you love deeply. We will be together forever, always happy, and never have to face any separation."
