When Luo Jiujiang returned, a strange blend of relief and nostalgia crossed his features. He seemed to have matured considerably, as if he had finally figured something out. Ever since he mastered the form and meaning of Pofenglu, his aura had been as dazzling as a blade wrapped in flames, yet now, his expression was surprisingly sentimental and tender.
Xiao Ren sensitively noticed his difference. She was the most naive of the three. Seeing such a drastic change in less than a quarter of an hour after Luo Jiujiang went out, she couldn't help but stare at him, until Luo Jiujiang shook his head and smiled.
Seeing this, Xie Chuncan had no choice but to straighten Xiaoren's head and teach him a lesson earnestly: "When others are thinking about love, you can't keep your eyes on them. If you do, you will be chopped off."
Luo Jiujiang: “…”
He was speechless for a moment, and the only way to express his feelings was to leap forward and thrust his blade. His first move was to strike Xie Chuncan in the face, the blade sharp, practically brushing against the hair on his face, nearly disfiguring him.
Xie Chuncan floated back, dodging Luo Jiujiang's sudden, lightning-fast thirteen slashes. He laughed, "Jiujiang, you're going to kill me just because I exposed you? That's not like you."
"Brother Xie, punishing evil and eliminating wickedness, and setting an example for others, are precisely my principles," Luo Jiujiang said sincerely. "I foresee that Brother Xie's words will inevitably stir up countless storms in the cultivation world. For the sake of the world, I will reluctantly let go today and help Brother Xie solve this problem once and for all."
The two of them were fighting fiercely. Xiao Ren, who was watching from the side, suddenly realized something and said, "Sister, this is self-destruction, right?"
Feng Xue: "Good, that's right."
Xie Chuncan: "..." He asked the question he had asked more than ten times, "Feng Xue, your sister is not stupid at all, right?"
The four of them immediately erupted in a commotion. Feng Xue hurled another snowball at the back of Xie Chuncan's head. Just then, Luo Jiujiang, near the empty stone pot, stomped his foot and kicked it, lifting the greasy pot and smashing it straight at Xie Chuncan's handsome face. Xie Chuncan dodged, and the snowball hit the center of the pot, sending his body splattering in an artistic manner.
Luo Jiujiang took two steps forward, grabbed the roasting pan, and laughed out loud after just one look: "Sister Xue's cooking skills are so precise, it also saved me the trouble of scrubbing the pan."
Xie Chuncan raised his eyebrows and smiled. Just as he was about to say something, a burst of sharp and piercing cymbal sounds came from afar. The sounds were dense and sharp, making people's hair stand on end and their scalps numb. Under the thick gray clouds all year round, there was a gloomy and ghostly aura.
Luo Jiujiang had never heard such a heart-wrenching sound before, and he couldn't help but frown. However, when he turned around, he saw Feng Xue and Xie Chuncan both holding down their weapons, their faces full of vigilance.
"They've actually started a market..." Xie Chuncan muttered, "I thought it would take another year or two for them to starve all the Qi Refining cultivators to death."
Feng Xue had already stood up. Her expression was more solemn than Xie Chuncan's. It was unknown what she was thinking about, but the muscles at the corners of her eyes had begun to twitch rapidly.
Without saying a word, she pulled Xiao Ren to her side and hurriedly groped for his hand.
Xie Chuncan ignored the two's small exchange. He quickly walked to the cave entrance and looked up at the sky. When he turned back, his expression had changed drastically. Since they met, Luo Jiujiang had never heard him speak in such a serious tone. "Feng Xue, you're in trouble."
What kind of riddle is this?
Luo Jiujiang's curiosity piqued, and he stepped forward and quickly reached the cave entrance. He followed the man's example and glanced up at the sky. He saw a magical instrument shaped like a street slowly descending from the sky. This must be the "market".
Beyond this long street of magical instruments, there was a sedan chair with a scarlet felt curtain, adorned with countless treasures, and extremely luxurious in appearance, which cut through the sky. A group of people surrounded the sedan chair and rushed straight towards the cave where they were at the speed of a galloping horse!
Before the chariot, swift as a meteor, even approached the cave, a sticky, hypocritical greeting came from afar: "It's been three years since we last met. I wonder how you've been, big sister?"
"But you and your old bastard father can pack up and get out." Feng Xue said with a cold face, "Who is your sister?"
This sentence really surprised Luo Jiujiang - he never thought that Feng Xue, a girl as skilled as an ice and snow chisel, could actually curse!
"It seems Big Sister has truly gone mad. No wonder, after all, Big Sister's cultivation is practically at rock bottom, and she'll soon lose even her human form." The man in the sedan was silent for a moment, then chuckled sinisterly, as if afraid others wouldn't hear his gloating. His voice was crisp and sweet, with a hint of a childish cadence, yet his viciousness was anything but childish.
The sedan finally stopped at the entrance of the cave. A thin, white, soft little hand stretched out from the scarlet curtain. On that hand was a string of thin silver bracelets, each of which was inlaid with a bright red stone as big as a pigeon egg.
The curtain of the sedan chair was half-lifted, revealing the sweetly smiling face of the young man. He looked no more than twelve or thirteen years old, yet exuded an air of superiority. Someone in the crowd knelt down to take the curtain from his hand and roll it up high, but he didn't even glance at them, instead stepping on the man's head and getting out of the sedan chair.
A moment later, his gaze passed Xie Chuncan and Luo Jiujiang at the entrance of the cave and fell directly on Feng Xue.
He hadn't even looked Luo Jiujiang in the eye, but that look in his eyes had inexplicably made Luo Jiujiang's heart creep. He felt that when the young man's eyes swept over him, he was treating him and Xie Chuncan like chickens, ducks, geese, and dogs, not as human beings at all.
