9. Forced to have sex
Fan Changyu had just walked out of the new house carrying two thick quilts. Not long after he walked a short distance, he felt something was wrong. He raised his head and glanced outside the courtyard wall. Two huge black shadows immediately shrank back under the wall.
Fan Changyu: “…”
She would recognize Fan Da and his wife even if they turned into ashes.
These two people had heard about her soliciting bribes, and were afraid that she had found a random stranger to trick them, so they got up in the middle of the night and climbed over her wall to eavesdrop?
At this moment, outside the wall of Fan's courtyard, Fan Da and his burly wife Liu were each climbing a wooden ladder, lowering their heads over the wall and talking in a low voice.
"See, I told you that girl just found someone to pretend to be a thief to scare us! We slept in separate rooms on our wedding night! Why are you so panicking?" Mrs. Liu said to her husband fiercely.
When Fan Da thought that he had a chance of getting the house again, he couldn't hide his excitement and said, "Let's see! Let's see!"
When the two of them sneaked half of their heads over the courtyard wall again, they saw Fan Changyu holding a thick quilt and going into the next room. He then came out again, went to the kitchen to get a basin of water and returned to the new room, as if he had just gone to the next room to put a quilt.
Mr. and Mrs. Fan couldn't help but look at each other.
Could it be that they guessed wrong?
-
After Fan Changyu walked into the new house again without knocking, carrying a basin of hot water, she met the ice-cold gaze of the man sitting at the table with his upper body naked. She pointed to the outside of the yard with her eyes, half embarrassed and half helpless, and said: "My uncle and aunt probably think that I just randomly recruited someone to cheat them, so they are eavesdropping outside the wall."
Xie Zheng looked away and laid back down on the round table.
He had just taken the medicine, and the excruciating pain from the broken flesh spread through his nerves throughout his body, causing cold sweats to cover his forehead, shoulders, back, waist and abdomen. All his energy was now spent on enduring the pain, and he had no time to care whether Fan Changyu stayed or went.
His shoulders and back were tense, his sweaty hair stuck to his forehead, beads of sweat were dripping on his eyelids, and his teeth were chattering, like a wild wolf that had been beaten several times but still refused to be tamed.
It was the first time that Fan Changyu saw the wounds on his body in full detail. Without the gauze covering them, some of the wounds that were originally torn into flesh had already formed blood scabs, while others were torn into a bloody mess. In addition, many old wounds could be vaguely seen on his body.
Fan Changyu couldn't help but think of her father again. Her father also had many such old wounds. It seemed that escorting a bodyguard was really a life-threatening business.
She put down the basin, walked over and asked with a frown, "Can I help you?"
The man half-lying on the table did not raise his head. He picked up a bottle of medicine with his pale fingertips and passed it back: "Sprinkle the remaining powder on the wounds on your back."
He was always cautious, and he had already replaced the medicine that Hai Dongqing brought with the bottle of medicine bought by the old man.
Fan Changyu took the medicine bottle and did as he was told. But almost at that moment, the muscles in his shoulders and back tensed even tighter, like rocks. Perhaps it was too unbearable, so he turned his head and bit the clothes piled on the table.
She frowned, thinking that his reaction didn't seem to be this big last time when he applied the medicine. Thinking that he might be tired from getting married today, she felt a little guilty.
She glanced at the blood- and sweat-stained gauze on the floor and went to the cupboard to take out a piece of plain silk.
This was the unused cloth that the family had bought for the funeral after their parents passed away. She used scissors to cut it into long strips so that it would be easier to bandage someone later.
After a while, Xie Zhenghun's tense muscles relaxed a little. He spat out the clothes in his mouth and slowly looked at Fan Changyu.
"Are you feeling better?" Seeing this, Fan Changyu quickly put down the scissors in his hand.
Xie Zheng was very afraid of being seen by others while he was healing his wounds. At that time, he was like a weak wild dog that could be killed by anyone.
But no matter how ferocious he looked, the woman in front of him had already seen it before.
After his long-standing habit was broken, he subconsciously rejected it and just thanked her coldly.
Fan Changyu glanced at the wounds on his body, but was magnanimous enough not to bother with him.
Maybe it was because it hurt too much that he was in a bad mood.
Xie Zheng picked up the clothes on the table and put them on. The feeling of blood and sweat sticking to his back was not pleasant, but due to his good upbringing, he could not calmly appear naked in front of a woman.
Fan Changyu saw this and hurriedly called him: "You are sweating and there is a lot of blood on your body. Wipe it off first. I will find you some of my father's clothes later."
It happened that she had just brought in a basin of water, intending to give it to him for washing, and it came in handy now.
Xie Zheng could wipe the front of his body by himself, but he needed Fan Changyu's help for his back. She wiped it much more carefully than he had done in those two sloppy wipes. She carefully avoided the wound with the squeezed handkerchief and wiped away the blood and the brown stains left by the previous medicine bit by bit.
Occasionally, her knuckles would accidentally touch his back; it wasn't soft, but it was clearly different from his own knotted hands, and it seemed as if tiny electric currents were spreading from where her knuckles had brushed against it.
Xie Zheng frowned subconsciously at the unprecedented itching sensation.
Seeing this, Fan Changyu stopped what he was doing and asked, "Did it touch your wound?"
He pursed his lips, his expression becoming increasingly cold: "No."
After wiping his back, the basin of water was already stained with blood and medicine. Fan Changyu took the cloth strip he had cut and wrapped it around him. This time, his fingertips inevitably touched more of his skin. Perhaps because he had just applied the medicine and was sweating, his body temperature was hotter than any time before.
Fan Changyu was standing and he was sitting. Occasionally, when she lowered her head to wind the belt, her long hair fell down and lightly brushed his shoulders and neck.
Crisp, itchy and numb.
Xie Zheng's brows were almost twisted into a "川" shape, and he quietly moved away.
"Okay." Fan Changyu didn't notice his abnormality. After tying the knot, she stood up. After working for a long time, a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead.
She dug out an old piece of clothing her father had worn from the box and gave it to him before taking the basin outside to pour it out.
The red lantern under the eaves swayed gently in the cold wind. After seeing her go out, the two bear-like dark shadows outside the wall shrank under the top of the wall, thinking they were well hidden.
Fan Changyu also pretended not to notice and scolded: "Whose wild cat is it, coming to my house to steal meat again!"
She walked over with the basin in her hand, scooped two large scoops of cold water from the water tank and poured it into the basin, then splashed it over the wall. "If I catch you again next time, I will teach you a lesson!"
Outside the courtyard wall, Mr. and Mrs. Fan were soaked like a drowned chicken, shivering with cold. They were afraid of being discovered but dared not utter a word.
Only when the footsteps in the yard faded away did Fan Da shiver and spit out the water that he had accidentally swallowed. He frowned and asked, "What kind of water did that damn girl splash? What does it smell like?"
Liu wiped the stains off her face with her sleeve and smelled it: "It smells like blood and sweat."
The couple was stunned for a moment, and then they spit even harder, "Fuck it, isn't that their bath water?"
The cold wind made their soaked jackets feel so cold that they went to their bones and their teeth started to chatter.
Qiangener didn't listen that night. After returning home, Mr. and Mrs. Fan caught a serious cold and were unable to get out of bed for several days.
Fan Changyu was afraid that something unexpected might happen, so after much consideration, he decided to sleep on the floor in the new house. Xie Zheng did not say anything about this.
Fan Changyu fell asleep quickly. When Xie Zhengshang was still closing his eyes to rest, her breathing became long and heavy.
According to folk custom, the wedding candles must be kept burning all night on the wedding night. In order to show it to others, Fan Changyu did not put out the candles.
The wedding candles that had been burning slowly suddenly exploded with a slight sound, and Xie Zheng turned his head slightly to look at the floor.
Three feet of warm light covered the ground. The woman was curled up in a few thick quilts, her black hair covering the pillows, and the skin on her face looked like warm jade under the dim candlelight.
Xie Zheng turned his gaze away and closed his eyes slightly.
When she was awake, she had a vulgar air about her appearance, and no matter how beautiful her appearance was, it would be ignored.
It's still worth a look when you fall asleep.
Realizing that he was thinking about whether she was pretty or not, Xie Zheng suddenly opened his eyes and frowned deeply.
What does it matter to him whether she is beautiful or ugly?
As long as his injuries heal, he will be able to leave this place. It is hard to say whether he will have any contact with this woman in the future.
He stopped thinking, turned sideways, faced the bed, and closed his eyes again.
-
Fan Changyu has his own daily routine and wakes up at a certain time.
She crawled up and sat up, and found herself sleeping on the floor. Chang Ning was not beside her, and there was a man lying on the bed a few steps away. She was stunned for a while.
Then he remembered that he got married yesterday and heaved a sigh of relief.
It was just daybreak outside, and a small part of the wedding candle was still burning in the house, with mottled candle tears piled up under the candlestick.
Fan Changyu got up quietly. She had slept with her clothes on last night, so she saved herself the embarrassment and trouble of getting dressed. After putting away the quilt on the floor, she left the room.
The wind and snow did not stop last night. After a night, the yard was covered with a thick layer of snow this morning, and the top of the wall and the dead branches outside the wall were all white.
Fan Changyu rubbed his hands together in cold sweat, went to the eaves to get some firewood to light the fire pit, put a hanging pot on the stove to warm a pot of water for washing, and then took a broom to sweep away the accumulated snow in the yard.
When she heard Changning crying from next door, she hurried to bring her sister back.
Changning was usually very obedient, but after her parents passed away, if she didn't see Fan Changyu when she woke up, she would cry for a while.
Fan Changyu coaxed his sister, let her sit on a stool, and combed her hair with a comb.
Maybe it was because of her poor health since childhood, but Changning's hair was not as black and dense as hers. Instead, it was fine, soft and yellowish, and there were a lot of loose strands, so it was quite troublesome to tie it into two small buns.
Fan Changyu was still a little unfamiliar with the technique, so the tufts of hair on Changning's head looked ugly every day.
After Fan Changyu combed her sister's hair and asked her to wash her face, Changning touched her left and right hair and felt something was not right. She took her washcloth to the basin and looked at it in the water. She found that her hair was particularly crooked.
She called Jiujiu and said, "Sister, my hair is tied crookedly."
Fan Changyu coughed twice: "I have to go to the county government office after dinner, so I don't have time to recomb your hair. Can you just make do with it today?"
Little Changning was easy to appease and immediately stopped making any more requests.
When Fan Changyu fetched some more water and brought it to the room, he found that the person in the room seemed to have been awake for a while, sitting neatly dressed and leaning against the head of the bed.
Fan Changyu still felt a little embarrassed as he thought that he had probably overheard the conversation between him and his sister.
She put the wash basin on the stool beside the bed, handed him a clean cotton towel, and talked about the promise she made to him when she granted him the fake marriage: "I will go to the county government to transfer the property in a while, and help you to re-register your household registration, and then I will bring you a doctor."
Hearing this, Xie Zheng said, "No need to call a doctor. I can recover from my injuries on my own."
The wounds on his body had been treated with golden medicine, and he just needed to rest and wait for the flesh to heal.
Fan Changyu scratched his head and asked, "What do you need? I'll buy it for you."
The other party still shook his head, which made Fan Changyu feel embarrassed.
This was different from what was promised before, and it seemed as if she was taking advantage of him.
She thought about going to the county town later, taking care of the important matters in the government office, and then buying him some supplements when she came back so that he could have a good rest.
After a quick breakfast, Fan Changyu went out. Since there was more than one sister at home now, she did not leave her sister at Aunt Zhao's house. Before leaving, she only told Changning that if she encountered any problems, she could go next door to ask Aunt Zhao for help.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she left, the thugs who were following her in the alley ran to the casino to report the news.
When there were knocks on the door, Xie Zheng casually found a book from the corner and flipped through two pages without much interest. His lazy look revealed a sense of extreme boredom and impatience, and he was not in a very good mood at all.
