Xu Qi stared coldly at the two kneeling figures, his eyes burning with rage. He truly hadn't expected that Xu Yishao Yang had gone to see Su Xibai, and that he was only now learning this from Qiangwei.

Seeing Su Xibai in his current condition would definitely be detrimental to A-Yi's recovery. If something went wrong… he could hardly imagine the consequences. It was 8 PM now, and he had been back for at least two hours. Because he hadn't seen Xu Yi and Qiangwei, and even Xue Ying wasn't there, he assumed they were just playing outside together.

However, just now, Rose and Snow Baby came back from outside and told me that Xu Yi was not with them, but went to see Su Xibai with Shao Yang!

Xu Qi knew in his heart that Xu Yi and the others had probably already met with Su Xibai, and that Qiangwei had deliberately delayed telling him until now! He clenched his fist, his nails digging into his palm.

"Young Master, this matter was entirely caused by Xueying's incompetence, and the responsibility should be borne by me alone. Please do not punish Qiangwei!" Xueying knelt on the ground, her back straight, and looked directly at Xu Qi.

"Take responsibility?" Xu Qi sneered. "What will you use to take responsibility?"

Xueying's face turned pale, but she still insisted, "However, Qiangwei bears no responsibility in this matter."

He was loyal and wanted to take full responsibility. But Xu Qi wasn't a fool; this matter was probably mainly Qiangwei's fault. He had always known that Qiangwei didn't agree with him completely erasing Su Xibai from Xu Yi's memory, but he didn't believe Qiangwei would truly betray him. But now he realized he had been too confident in himself. He didn't want to admit that he was actually hurt by Qiangwei's betrayal!

"Because of your incompetence, Ah Yang and Ah Yi are now meeting with Su Xibai! What's even more ridiculous is that I only found out now!" Xu Qi's face grew even colder. "If anything happens to Ah Yi, even if you give your lives, you won't be able to make up for it!"

He already knew about Feng Chuyi and Xue Ying's defection from Wei Lan. He was confident that Feng Chuyi wouldn't find anything, so he didn't care. But Qiangwei... unforgivable! This person he had always trusted had actually betrayed him! Overwhelmed by intense anger, he uncontrollably uttered hurtful words.

Rose's beautiful, pale face was deathly still, which infuriated Xu Qi even more. Why didn't she defend herself? Had this person already been plotting to betray him and leave him?

Xu Qi snorted and continued, "I won't punish you now. I want you to keep an eye on A-Yi and report to me immediately if anything happens. If anything goes wrong again, you know the consequences!"

In the end, he still gave them a chance. Watching Rose's increasingly slender figure as she left, he felt both hatred and pity. Although he hated Rose for betraying him, he still couldn't help but soften his heart.

The two stood outside the door, and Xueying asked Qiangwei with some concern, "Are you... alright?"

Rose shook her head: "I'm fine. Thank you, Xueying."

Xueying sighed: "Take care of yourself."

With all his might, he finally walked out of the Xu family's gate. He drove aimlessly around the suburbs until dark, when he finally stopped by a tree on the side of the road.

His heart was throbbing so badly he felt like he was about to die, yet he could still sit there perfectly fine. In that instant, an idea struck him. Perhaps hypnosis was a better fit for him.

Xu Yi couldn't live without Su Xibai, but even in his deepest pain, he couldn't forget her. Because Su Xibai and he had shared so many beautiful memories.

But what about herself? She never had that person, and her love for that person was always the source of her pain. Yet even now, she still couldn't stop loving that person. So if she could forget all of this, she wouldn't be in pain anymore, and might even find someone who loved her and live a simple life.

A few seconds later, he chuckled softly. He was so foolish. Even though his memories of that man contained only a pitifully small amount of warmth, he still clung to them desperately. The man who appeared in his hazy vision when he was 15 had long since become the meaning of his existence. How could he bear to forget him?

In fact, he was already prepared when he made this decision. To Xu Qi, his actions were undoubtedly tantamount to betrayal.

Judging from the current situation, Xu Yi should remember things related to Su Xibai whenever he sees her. He will then try to break free from the hypnosis and retrieve his past. This is both fortunate and unfortunate for Xu Yi, because his past is a huge black hole, and he will be sucked into it again, possibly unable to escape.

Xu Qi believes that Su Xibai is an obstacle for Xu Yi, but Qiangwei believes that Su Xibai is Xu Yi's only salvation. Although Xu Yi always thinks that Su Xibai doesn't love him, Qiangwei, as an outsider, clearly sees that Su Xibai at least has feelings for Xu Yi.

The real way to free Xu Yi wasn't to erase his memories, but to let him have Su Xibai. Xu Qi didn't understand—or rather, subconsciously resisted—this fact, insisting on keeping Xu Yi by his side. This would only harm Xu Yi, and he would ultimately regret it.

"I really am a good person," Rose laughed self-deprecatingly. Ultimately, doing this was for the sake of the Xu brothers, bringing him no personal benefit whatsoever. In fact, because of it, Xu Qi hated him completely.

He could no longer follow behind that person, because he had lost even the right to chase after his shadow.

"Brother, it's rare for you to come back so early today." Xu Yi pushed open the door and said with a smile to Xu Qi, who was sitting at the table.

Xu Qi looked up and saw it was him. He immediately observed Xu Qi's expression with some nervousness but found nothing unusual. He breathed a slight sigh of relief: "Nothing much happened today, so I came back early."

Noticing Xu Qi's unease, Xu Yi sneered inwardly, but remained outwardly calm: "Brother, I have something I want to talk to Father about. Can you come with me?"

Xu Qi was taken aback for a moment, then replied, "Okay, I'll go with you." When had he ever refused his younger brother's request? So he naturally accompanied Xu Yi to their father's room.

However, he did not expect that such a desperate situation awaited him.

They overheard Xu Qingjue and Shao Minyu's conversation outside the door. Xu Qingjue actually told Shao Minyu to go find Xu Yi and ask him if he wanted to lift the hypnosis! And the thing Xu Yi said he wanted to talk to Xu Qingjue about was also about hypnosis—Xu Qi knew that things had come to this point and he could not turn back.

But he couldn't help but question his father: "Father! What are you doing? Ah Yi will be fine soon!"

"Hmph, do you really think that just because I'm old, I'm deaf and blind and can't control the bastards you've done?" Xu Qingjue's face darkened, and he said in a cold voice, "Are you going to make the same mistake I did back then?"

Xu Qi felt a chill in his heart; he knew what his father meant. Years ago, his father fell in love with his cousin, Qi Weiru, forced her to give birth to Xu Yi, and ultimately indirectly caused the death of Qi Weiru's lover. The devastated Qi Weiru attempted to kill the five-year-old Xu Yi, but was instead shot dead from behind by her aunt, Xu Qingpei. This scene left a deep shadow in Xu Yi's heart.

Xu Qingjue always felt guilty towards Xu Yi, so after discovering Xu Qi's feelings for his younger brother, he repeatedly warned him not to be willful and impose his will on the person he loved.

But Xu Qi couldn't bear to watch his younger brother torment himself because of another man.

"Dear brother, do you think I look like this now, the kind of person you mean 'soon to get better'?" Xu Yi curled the corners of her lips into a venomous yet beautiful smile as Xu Qi turned to face her. "Should I thank you?"

The cold words pierced Xu Qi's heart like sharp blades. He stared intently at Xu Yi, his throat feeling as if it were being choked, unable to utter a single word.

"Xiao Yi! Your brother just doesn't want you to continue suffering!" Shao Minyu couldn't help but say.

Xu Yi didn't even glance at Xu Qi's frozen face. Instead, she turned her gaze to Shao Minyu, her smile fading. "Although I don't remember... but, can you call me that? Brother's mother?"

These words were extremely grating to Xu Qi's ears, and he finally reacted: "Ayi? How could you talk to your mother like that!"

“Don’t be nervous, I haven’t remembered much yet. If A-Yang hadn’t let it slip, I wouldn’t know. But this is enough for me to understand one fact—you made me forget my biological mother.” Xu Yi slowly walked towards Xu Qingjue, looking down directly at his father’s aged face.

Xu Qi was shocked. A Yi already knew? He stared intently at his father, hoping he would refuse. But the next second, he knew he was doomed.

Xu Qingjue sighed: "Xiao Yi, I will help you regain your memory first. Remember, no matter how painful it is, it was your own choice. Then, you can decide for yourself whether you want to forgive us."

Xu Yi nodded expressionlessly and left the ward.

Watching his resolute back as he walked away, Xu Qi felt a deep pain in his heart. This time, his younger brother would never look at him again.

"Qi'er, I won't pursue this matter now. You should know what you should do," Xu Qingjue's authoritative voice rang out.

Xu Qi nodded with difficulty and replied, "Yes, Father."

Even as he left Xu Qingjue's hospital room, Xu Qi had a lingering feeling that it was all unreal. Yet he knew it was all true. He was about to lose his beloved younger brother.
