Why should that person interfere? Should she be questioned for dating a man? But, it's one thing for others, but what right does that person have? Isn't he hopelessly in love with his own younger brother? So what right does he have to criticize her? Although that person misunderstood, Si Qiang had no intention of defending herself.

He wanted that person to know that he was no longer the rose crawling at her feet begging for love, but the man who would win the heart of his beloved!

Si Qiang slightly opened his eyes, catching a glimpse of Yao Jinghan hurrying towards him from the corner of his eye. A beautiful yet dangerous smile curled at the corners of his lips. His older sister probably wouldn't accept him so easily. Sure enough, Yao Jinghan noticed him, paused briefly, glanced at him, and then continued walking.

He slowly sat up, looked up at the blooming roses in the garden, and remembered the pain that flashed across Yao Yinxiang's face when he learned his name.

When Si Yuan and Yao Yinxiang first met, it was the season when roses were in bloom. Standing in the courtyard, head bowed, inhaling the fragrance of roses, the woman was as radiant and captivating as a rose in the young Yao Yinxiang's eyes, instantly winning his heart. The handsome young man and the gentle, beautiful young woman falling in love seemed like a preordained destiny, perfectly natural. However, they ultimately could not be together. When the beautiful and delicate woman discovered she was pregnant with their child, her tragic life was sealed. Because of too many circumstances, they missed each other, a regret that permeated their entire lives.

After Si Qiang left that day, Jiang Fan and Yao Yinxiang talked for a long time. They finally pieced together a nearly complete truth, and their hearts were filled with unease. Although those old stories were brought up again, she was gone, and they could only see her again in their dreams. That eternally beautiful face could only be sealed in their memories forever. However, compared to Si Yuan, they were perhaps lucky. After all, Si Qiang's existence was proof that that beautiful woman had truly lived on the same land as them. Although they never met again in their lives, they had at least gotten an answer. Si Yuan, who had endured hardships to reach the land where her beloved lived, lived a lonely life, and ultimately withered away in desolation, never heard a single word from her beloved until her death.

Having learned the truth, Si Yuan's heart, though turbulent, eventually calmed down. He no longer resented Yao Yinxiang, but he couldn't bring himself to call him "Father." After all, so many years of separation meant the chasm between them couldn't be bridged overnight.

Si Qiang lowered her eyes and sighed. The most untouchable thing in the world is "love." Because falling in love is like giving up half your life. Losing the other person means losing even that half of your life. Like Si Yuan and Yao Yinxiang, who only spent a short month together, yet spent their entire lives longing for each other but unable to meet again—what's the point?

He really shouldn't have fallen in love with Xu Qi. Only he had developed feelings, while Xu Qi's heart belonged entirely to someone else. He had chased after her for so long, only to see a cold, indifferent back all he ever saw. Why did he continue to persist?

No, that won't do. Perhaps he's inherently an extremely selfish man. He can't win back his own heart, so the only option is to possess the other person entirely. No matter what, he knows he can never let go of that person. Unless he dies and has no strength left to pursue them, he won't give up, even if he exhausts his entire life. His love has never been selfless. Whether it was the humility he felt behind that person in the past, or the arrogance he displays now standing before them, his desire to possess that person has never changed. This desire is a lurking beast within him, roaring to devour that person completely.

Ah… I want that person so much, I'm going crazy. No, maybe he already is. When Si Qiang saw that person trying so hard to suppress his anger in the backyard, although he appeared aloof and indifferent, he had only one thought in his heart—to get him, no matter what.

I want to hold him tightly, kiss him deeply, violate him fiercely, possess him. I want him to be unable to think of anything but Si Qiang. If I could, I truly want to tie him up like this, place him where only I can see him, so that only I can appreciate all his goodness. To make him completely mine, untouchable by anyone else.

However, given Xu Qi's personality, if Si Qiang were to actually do that, all he would gain would be an empty shell. Si Qiang understood this better than anyone, so he tried his best to suppress himself. He wanted to use every means to obtain that person, both heart and body. If he reached a dead end and couldn't obtain that person no matter what, then he would truly go mad. When the beast within him was completely out of control, he didn't know how far he would go insane. Perhaps he would really destroy that person. He smiled self-deprecatingly; being loved by someone like him was actually that person's misfortune.

One month later, in New York.

"Ah Yi, I'm so sorry. I didn't tell you about this beforehand. Since you didn't want to come to California, I had no choice but to come find you myself."

From the moment he entered, Xu Yi hadn't given him a second glance, leaving Si Qiang with no choice but to smile wryly. This time, Xu Yi was probably truly angry. He had sent Xu Yi an invitation before, but Xu Yi hadn't shown up at all. For the past month, he had been trying to explain to Xu Yi, but the other party had completely ignored him. He had no choice but to shamelessly go to her door to see if he could gain her forgiveness. Su Xibai opened the door when he knocked. Upon entering the living room, he saw Xu Yi sitting there, eyes fixed on the television, his expression cold and stern.

Si Qiang sighed, not daring to sit too close, and instead sat down on a sofa to the side. Su Xibai knew that it was inappropriate for him to be present in the current situation, so after giving Si Qiang a wink, he quickly left, leaving him and Xu Yi alone, the atmosphere instantly becoming incredibly tense.

Si Qiang remained silent for a few minutes before finally speaking again: "Ayi, perhaps you don't intend to forgive me..."

Suddenly, Xu Yi sprang to his feet with incredible speed, grabbed him, threw him to the ground, straddled his waist, and began to beat him mercilessly without a word. Xu Yi's fists were no joke; the blows were far beyond what an ordinary person could withstand. Even a trained fighter like Si Qiang found it difficult to endure such attacks without any resistance.

In less than a minute, Si Qiang's face was covered in bruises, and blood was seeping from the corner of her mouth. Xu Yi didn't focus on hitting her face—because that face was too fair and delicate, and even the slightest scratch would make her look incredibly pitiful. He only punched her twice before subconsciously turning to her chest and abdomen, areas of her body that were not easily visible.

Si Qiang secretly groaned. If this continued, he might not be able to show his face for a week. He himself didn't care, but the problem was that he was practically the face of the Fuqing Gang now. Being beaten like this would likely bring him countless troubles. But he dared not resist, much less retaliate—he was indeed in the wrong, even though it wasn't intentional.

"You fucking bastard! Who told you to run off and become the heir to the Fuqing Gang without a word?" Xu Yi finally spoke, his tone fierce, growing angrier with each word, his movements becoming increasingly ruthless. "You still have the nerve to come see me?"

"Cough cough... Yi! Listen to me!" Si Qiang endured for a moment, then raised her arm to block Xu Yi's fierce fist. "It happened so suddenly, I don't know how to explain it right now. I'm afraid that if I talk to you on the phone, I'll only make things worse. I wanted to wait for you to come to California so I could explain it to you in person..."

Xu Yi finally stopped, glaring at him fiercely: "I'll give you three minutes. If you don't satisfy me, I'll beat you to death!"

Si Qiang breathed a sigh of relief and smiled through the pain, "Three minutes? Then I can only say that I did this for three reasons: first, to repay a debt of gratitude; second, for my mother; and third... for your brother."

Xu Yi was taken aback, raised an eyebrow, thought for a moment, stood up and sat back down: "Explain clearly."

Si Qiang quickly got up: "Of course, I still want to live." He began to explain one by one, including Jiang Fan, Yao Yinxiang, and the marriage agreement.

Half an hour later, Xu Yi grabbed the jade pendant around Si Qiang's neck and examined it closely: "Is this it? Yao Yinxiang is really something, he decided on you based on this alone?"

Si Qiang helplessly shrugged: "Perhaps it's because I look a lot like my mother, plus this jade pendant, that he was so sure. In fact, what Uncle Jiang said later also confirmed this."

"Also, although I don't want to mention that person again, I still want to say it again: if you really want him, you have to be prepared." Xu Yi's tone was serious. After a pause, he continued, "Also, I can tell you that his feelings for me are definitely not what he thinks."

Si Qiang was startled and looked up abruptly: "What? Why did you..." Xu Yi's words were too complicated for him to bear.

Xu Yi waved his hand: "I know what you mean. He thinks he loves me, but I know for sure, he doesn't. That's all I can tell you. You'd better watch yourself."

"You know him..." Si Qiang didn't finish his sentence. His mind was in complete turmoil; the news was simply too shocking. Xu Yi not only knew about Xu Qi's feelings, but also denied them!

Xu Yi sighed and patted him on the shoulder: "This is your choice, I won't say anything more. I just hope you won't regret it."
