26. Vows and Temptations...
"Huh?" Xu Qi was taken aback, immediately picked up the pot and turned off the heat, looking somewhat embarrassed. "It shouldn't be too... burnt, right..."
"I've learned it, thank you." Su Xibai suppressed the urge to burst out laughing and turned to look at Xu Yi. "Besides, even if it's burnt, there are still people who would want to eat it, right?"
Upon hearing this, Xu Qi was startled and immediately turned to look at Xu Yi. He saw Xu Yi's porcelain-white face turn red, and he glared at Su Xibai before turning and walking out of the kitchen.
Su Xibai shook her head, then turned to Xu Qi and smiled: "This kid's been acting strangely for a long time, you know that."
Xu Qi sighed, "It's my problem, not his fault." Originally, getting his brother's forgiveness was just a pipe dream, so everything today seemed like a beautiful but unreal dream.
Su Xibai frowned: "Don't you think you're spoiling him too much?"
Over this period of time, he learned a fact from Xu Yi: half of Xu Yi's current terrible personality was due to Xu Qi's spoiling. He never knew that a man could be so doting on his younger brother—in fact, Su Xibai was certain that Xu Qi was an incurable brother-obsessed maniac.
“Spoiling? Maybe.” Xu Qi was silent for a moment, then looked up at Su Xibai, his eyes suddenly flashing with a sharp light: “My brother, he was born to be loved. He’s childish and willful, you have to tolerate him. Can you do that?”
Su Xibai stared directly at him without backing down, saying each word clearly, "If he can't even do this, I won't be with him."
In the kitchen, the two men faced off, the atmosphere tense and on the verge of exploding. Suddenly, Xu Qi narrowed his eyes and chuckled softly, breaking the awkward silence.
Seeing the other person's expression suddenly relax, Su Xibai immediately realized what was going on. He said helplessly, "Are you still testing me even now? You still don't trust me."
Xu Qi nodded and admitted, "Yes, I'm worried. Because you have a criminal record."
"A prior record?" Su Xibai was stunned. Recalling her past "history" of leaving Xu Yi without a word several times, she suddenly felt a little unsure of herself. "That was..."
“Actually, I have a general understanding of your situation. I know A-Yi's personality better than anyone, and he has absolutely no experience in relationships. There must have been many misunderstandings between you two before, and I can understand your previous behavior.” Xu Qi paused, then changed the subject, “However, from now on, if you leave him again without a word because of a misunderstanding, I absolutely cannot forgive you.”
Su Xibai was both amused and exasperated. This person had apologized to him and Xu Yi that afternoon, and yet tonight he was spouting what sounded like a threat. However… after understanding the other person's brother-obsessed nature, he was no longer surprised by anything this person would do for his brother.
"I swear on my life. No matter what happens, I, Su Xibai, will never leave him again without permission. Never." Su Xibai took a deep breath and spoke solemnly.
Xu Qi stared at him for a moment, then nodded and went to get the plate. Su Xibai was certainly not a casual man; he had known that for a long time. So, he would trust him for now.
During dinner, Xu Yi finished his meal quickly as usual, then sat motionless at the table, his expression becoming increasingly unnatural, his right hand unconsciously groping for his ear—these actions completely betrayed his nervousness, yet he simply wouldn't leave.
He clearly had something to say. Su Xibai immediately understood when she saw Xu Yi's awkward expression. This kid must also know that, no matter what, he couldn't just brush off his brother who loved him so much.
Xu Qi hesitated for a moment before finally asking him, "Ayi, you have something to say, don't you?"
"Brother, I am very happy right now..." Xu Yi gritted his teeth and continued.
Xu Qi looked at him gently, a slight smile playing on her lips: "I know."
Su Xibai knew he should be moved at this moment—he knew it! But… what was with these two, one gentle as water and the other shy as a flower?!
What kind of family drama are you two acting out?! Su Xibai knew that thinking about this at a time was inappropriate, but the atmosphere between the two of them was really making him uncomfortable. Okay, he admitted that this scene of brotherly affection made him a little... jealous.
However, the two finally reconciled. Su Xibai felt this scene held significant commemorative value. He lowered his head and continued eating, thinking about the other person in this complex web of relationships—Si Qiang. If she knew about this, would she be happy or disappointed? Judging from his expression, it was impossible for him to let go, so… Xu Qi still had many problems.
After Xu Qi left that evening, Xu Yi unusually stayed in the bathroom for an hour. Su Xibai knew he was thinking, so she didn't disturb him, washed herself, and went to bed. Just as he was drifting off to sleep, he suddenly felt the bed beside him sink, clearly someone had sat on him.
"Hmm... Go to sleep." Su Xibai turned over groggily and moved to the side.
The man didn't speak, but leaned down and pressed his forehead against Su Xibai's, his warm breath falling on Su Xibai's face. Su Xibai had no choice but to open his eyes: "Is something wrong?"
Xu Yi climbed onto the bed, burying his face in the other man's chest, rubbing his soft cheek against the man's broad chest, clinging to him like an octopus. After a few seconds, he mumbled, "Xiao Bai, am I really that bad?"
Su Xibai rolled her eyes, reached out and ruffled his soft, shiny black hair, then patted his shoulders and back like she was coaxing a child: "Don't overthink it, didn't you see how happy your brother is today?"
“You know…that guy…” Xu Yi shook his head, paused, and his voice became a little hoarse, “Actually, I heard everything you said in the kitchen today.”
Did you hear that? Then wouldn't that mean...?
Su Xibai looked up at the ceiling somewhat awkwardly: "Um... don't take it to heart..."
Xu Yi tightened his arms: "I know... I'm childish and willful, and I always make things difficult for you..."
Su Xibai sighed helplessly. Why was this guy so stubborn? He lowered his head and said softly, "That's right, you're a real pain in the neck."
Xu Yi shuddered violently.
"But you heard what I said after that, right?" Su Xibai frowned, reached out and pulled the person up to face level with her own. "I won't leave you again. Even if you don't want me anymore, I'll still stay."
"Xiao Bai..." Xu Yi suddenly pounced on him, showering him with kisses on the face, her breathing becoming rapid, and she rubbed against him, "I like... I like you so much... What should I do..."
Su Xibai's face flushed from the repeated "I like you" from him, and his body was aroused. With a forceful push, he pinned the man down.
"Stop being so fussy! Lie down! I'm going to sleep with you!" Su Xibai lowered his head and kissed Xu Yi fiercely.
Xu Yi stood there, stunned, letting him kiss him. Seeing the other's feigned fierce expression, he knew the other didn't want him to continue. He stuck out his tongue, passionately responding to his rarely proactive lover. This is good. As he finally sank into the sea of desire, he silently said to himself.
“Miss Yao, perhaps it’s time for us to have a proper talk.” Si Qiang sat on the sofa with a peaceful smile on her face, but her eyes were icy cold.
Yao Jinghan looked at the man opposite her for a while, then lowered her eyes slightly: "Given the current situation, I'm afraid I have no choice but to talk about it."
Today she'd really messed up; she hadn't been on guard and had been "invited" here by Si Qiang. This was probably Si Qiang's private residence, and she recognized some of the subordinates standing around. She couldn't help but smile bitterly: how the tables had turned. If it weren't for Jiang Fan a while ago, she almost would have eliminated this "love rival" as she had before. Who would have thought that things would turn out so unpredictably? Her "love rival" turned out to be her half-brother, who had taken her place as the heir to the Fuqing Gang. Today, their positions had been reversed.
“I hope you don’t misunderstand, I don’t mean any harm to you,” Si Qiang said calmly. “I think you may have guessed it—I want to talk to you about Antonio.”
Yao Jinghan looked up abruptly, about to speak, but the other person continued, "I know you like him, but unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have any other feelings for you."
Yao Jinghan's face turned icy: "What do you mean by that?"
"Ah, please don't be angry. Please let me finish." Si Qiang waved her hand, looked up at the other person, and slowly continued, "I just want to ask you, do you want to marry him? Even though he's still philandering around?"
Yao Jinghan stood up abruptly and said coldly, "Mr. Si, if you only came to me to say these things, I'm sorry I can't keep you company."
After saying that, she quickly turned around and walked towards the door. As soon as she reached the door, several men approached her, forming a subtle encirclement.
"What? Uncle Zhang, what are you doing?" Yao Jinghan stopped and looked up at the man in black in front of her. This was one of her father's confidants, and now he had been subdued so quickly. Her younger brother was really something else.
“Miss Yao, I’m not joking. To be honest, I’m not doing this for you, but it does benefit you, doesn’t it?” Si Qiang’s voice was like a thunderclap in Yao Jinghan’s ears, startling her so much that she turned around and stared intently at the other woman.
"What is your purpose?" Yao Jinghan asked solemnly, "And what price do I need to pay?"
