(7 Fresh Coins) Chapter 14 (Part 1) Rare Treasures

In the stillness of the night, the moon hangs half-hidden, casting a soft, shimmering light. A man walks along the street corner, his slender figure, flowing long hair, and agile gait, along with the occasional glimpse of his beautiful, jade-like profile, making him appear like an elf dancing gracefully under the moonlight.

If someone were present, they would probably unconsciously hold their breath, afraid that the mundane world would ruin the beautiful scenery before them.

Coincidentally, in some dark corner here, there was an ordinary person who seemed to fit perfectly as a backdrop. He was completely hidden in the darkness, with only his bright black eyes faintly gleaming, radiating an icy temperature. Following his gaze, a man of otherworldly beauty was walking unhurriedly in their direction.

"Game over."

A cold, inorganic voice, accompanied by the roar of a sniper rifle, accompanied by the curtain-like background of this gentleman—or perhaps lady, since the voice was so androgynous—hooked the middle finger from the trigger.

A barely visible shadow streaked across the night sky; this seemingly nimble little thing was about to reap a life. Mr. Background—now perhaps we should call him Mr. Killer—felt the scorching heat emanating from his old buddy. He narrowed his eyes slightly, quietly awaiting the deafening roar.

"Bang!!!" The sound of a bullet blasting into the wall. The assassin's brow twitched, and for the first time, a human-like emotion appeared in his hawk-like eyes.

Looking up at the gaping hole in the wall, the assassin slowly stood up, glancing down at the scattered bloodstains in the distance. The night wind blew through the once-silent street corner, and the moonlight cast the assassin's figure, a long, distorted silhouette on the ground.

He dodged it, but the bullet must have grazed the man's arm; that arm should be unusable for now. After all, it was his bullet. Ah… how exciting. How many years has it been? Someone has escaped death from him and his old buddy, vanishing perfectly before his eyes in an instant. Indeed, only this person could do that. Hunting down this perfect prey sounds like an incredibly delicious idea. The assassin raised his face, a bloodthirsty smile of a hunter curving his handsome lips. Then, his figure vanished abruptly, as if he had never appeared on this ordinary street corner.

"Drip, drip..." The sound of liquid slowly dripping onto the ground. The red liquid slowly gathered together, gleaming with a chilling dark light in the pitch-black night.

One, two, three. His slender body tensed like a bowstring ready to be released. Without even glancing at his bleeding left arm, the man silently counted three times before slamming himself against the opposite glass window. Simultaneously, 500 meters away, a gray figure shot towards the same direction like lightning.

What a pity. I won. The moment he smashed through the window, the man caught a glimpse of the rapidly approaching shadow out of the corner of his eye, and sighed softly. Then, his figure vanished without a trace, and the scene that had unfolded two hours earlier on the street corner was replayed in a different way.

In the next breath, the gray figure reappeared where the man had just stood. He looked down at the shattered glass and the still empty street, remained silent for two seconds, and finally turned and left.

Two hours ago, their silent confrontation began. They moved swiftly, and several times he nearly caught his opponent, only to lose track of them the next second. They circled the entire city, finally settling on this nearly completed building. The prey once again vanished perfectly from his sight, and he no longer needed to pursue. These two hours of fighting had clearly revealed one message: even injured and unable to engage him directly, evading his pursuit was still possible. Since that was the case, he wouldn't be the one to suffer the consequences.

Meanwhile, Mr. "Prey," looking disheveled, hurried along in a dimly lit, filthy place. Yes, this was an indispensable part of the city—the sewers. Compared to the roads, the sewers were the city's true, interconnected shortcuts—only a bit filthy. After traversing this almost suffocating "road," a faint light finally appeared before the man's eyes. His only way out, the Sel Dock, had finally arrived.

The ring's reflection dazzled the man's vision, flashing through his mind of the past night. He abruptly closed his eyes, lowered his head, and brought the ring to his lips, gently kissing it. His movements were so careful, as if he held not a small ring, but some priceless treasure. Then, he slightly parted his lips.

"tall……"
