Zhao Yunqi looked down at the cup in his hand, but didn't move.
A gentle spring breeze blew, and their simple conversation inexplicably created tension.
Everyone present held their breath, staring intently at the nose, afraid to move. Those with poor self-control felt extremely uncomfortable, like sitting on pins and needles.
It was Li Xiao who broke the silence first, "Princess, how was this tiger captured? How come it's so obedient?"
Xiao Zhixing smiled. "Just lucky. Kind animals have a spirit; perhaps it likes me."
Li Xiao stroked his beard, nodded, and suddenly said:
"I heard that after the princess returned to her residence, she had no elders to teach her. I wonder if she would be willing to learn from this old man for a few days?"
Xiao Zhixing raised an eyebrow. "I am unruly and may ruin your trust in me as a teacher."
Li Xiao narrowed his eyes, "Even rotten wood can be carved. I am confident that I can serve as the princess's teacher."
Xiao Zhixing smiled, "Forgive my rudeness, but I already have a good teacher."
"Knowledge and action?!"
Zhao Yunqi, who hadn't moved an inch, reacted strongly to the name, his cup wobbling and clinking.
Xiao Zhixing smiled and said, "Why is Your Majesty so surprised? This is my daughter's courtesy name, bestowed upon me by my mother."
She changed her original name to a courtesy name, but Zhao Yunqi reacted so strongly, so it's no wonder she went along with it.
Silence fell once more, and the atmosphere grew increasingly tense.
Zhao Yunqi put down his cup, took the handkerchief handed to him by the head eunuch to wipe his hands, stood up and walked to the railing, looking down at her, "What is the purpose of this?"
"Unity of knowledge and action, standing tall and upright." Xiao Zhixing boldly looked back.
Zhao Yunqi regained his composure, as if he had only asked casually, "Good calligraphy."
"Thank you for your praise, Your Majesty. I also think the calligraphy my mother bestowed upon me is excellent."
Xiao Zhixing couldn't discern any expression from him, so he could only continue to deal with things according to his own ideas.
At this point, most of the hunting parties began their return journey, and the scene became lively.
Their conversation seemed to end just like that.
As for what others might think, that remains to be seen.
Huo Baijun rushed over, "You, Xiao Zhixing, can actually control a tiger! Oh dear, I've lost! Quick, quick, I want to touch the tiger!!"
