Chapter 25: Prey or Hunter?

Well, sometimes you have to act. If you don't cooperate, how can you go from prey to hunter?

Xiao Zhixing leaped down, his figure as swift as smoke, his sword flashing, and one by one, heads were severed from bodies.

Scalding blood splattered onto the elegant faces of these unripe melon seeds; she admitted it was intentional.

Especially the screams of Zhao Xi and Qi Mengshu in their breakdown were incredibly melodious.

"Alright, shut up if you don't want to get arrested again."

Xiao Zhixing shook the blood off his sword, then casually cut the ropes to warn them.

Li Jun covered Qi Mengshu's mouth with her hand and manually muted the microphone.

Huo Baijun lifted the broken leg and knocked Zhao Xi unconscious with a powerful blow, and the world fell silent.

Wow... Sister Zhixing!!

Li Wenxiu buried her head in her arms and burst into tears. Afraid of attracting the enemy, she buried her face in her chest and sobbed softly.

Xiao Zhixing patted her head, "It's alright, we need to leave quickly."

Lin Rushu shakily got up and pressed herself tightly against her, as if only then could she feel safe.

Xiao Zhixing frowned. Lin Rushu was not in a good state; she seemed to have lost her soul, like a walking corpse.

Huo Baijun struggled to sit up, forcing a bitter smile. "We're all crippled or disabled, how are we supposed to go?"

Because of his fierce resistance, his leg was broken. It is estimated that the northern barbarians did not kill him because of his noble clothes. He was spared his life, but his leg was crippled. He was somewhat disheartened for a time.

Xiao Zhixing released Li Wenxiu, walked over, squatted down, touched his leg, and then pulled, twisted, and pushed it back in place.

Huo Baijun slowly lifted his leg, "Ah?! Hahaha, all better?! Hahaha, I don't have to become crippled anymore, hahaha..."

Ignoring his newly healed leg, he immediately limped up and jumped up, overjoyed.

Xiao Zhixing glanced at the others. Feng Min was clutching her stomach, looking half-dead and seriously injured. She chose to ignore her. Whether or not to save her depended on her own willingness. That's how vengeful she was.

The others were not seriously injured.

Hmm, there's a handsome young man I don't recognize lying on the ground, his legs don't look normal.

Huo Baijun hurriedly introduced, "He is Nian Chenghan, the second son of the Imperial Censor."

Xiao Zhixing thought for a few seconds before remembering this second young master of the Nian family.

He was once the most talented man in Shengjing, a man of extraordinary talent. Later, he fell from his horse and broke his leg, so he rarely went out. That's why she didn't know him. However, she often heard his name from noble ladies, and they all exclaimed with amazement and regret.

“Everyone can ride horses, let’s go immediately,” Xiao Zhixing instructed. “Brother Mu, you take care of Young Master Nian, and Brother Huo, you take care of Zhao Xi.”

Qi Mengshu was under Li Jun's supervision, while Li Wenxiu, Lin Rushu, and Feng Min could ride horses on their own.

Everyone agreed, and Qi Mengshu didn't dare to cause any trouble at this point. She obediently sat in front of Li Jun, looking at Xiao Zhixing with complicated eyes.

The group mounted their horses, and Xiao Zhixing was about to lead them to meet up with the guards.

Suddenly, startled birds took flight in a frenzy.

"Oh no! Run!" Xiao Zhixing shouted. "Run forward, don't look back!"

"Giddy up!" Without hesitation, the men spurred their horses forward and galloped ahead, as a hail of arrows rained down.

Xiao Zhixing ran at the back, his longsword dancing like a screen of light, and with a series of clangs, all the arrows were blocked.

"Xiao Zhixing, let's see where you can escape to this time." Xiao Long sneered arrogantly, swooping down like a flying eagle.

Xiao Zhixing decisively turned to the other side and loudly warned Huo Baijun, who was about to turn back, "Protect everyone, let's go!"

She didn't even take the horse; she plunged into the woods and fled.

Xiao Long indeed abandoned the others and led his men to surround and pursue her, saying, "Surrender now, you can't escape today."

Xiao Zhixing looked up and saw the figures of the Northern Barbarian Army in front of him. They looked like skilled fighters, and there were enemies all around.

She remained calm and quickly moved in.

Blood stained the air, blades danced, and she carved a bloody path through the chaos.

Xiao Long pursued relentlessly, saying, "I have laid a trap; you cannot escape."

Xiao Zhixing didn't respond to him, and buried himself in killing, his eyes bloodshot.

Xiao Long stayed close behind, seemingly waiting for an opportunity; he wanted to wear her down with sheer numbers.

Xiao Zhixing remained calm. After breaking out of the encirclement, she ran for more than half an hour, completely shaking off her pursuers, before finding a tree to lean against and catch her breath.

She had injured her shoulder and arm, and was bleeding. She casually applied some medicine powder, but wait, the blood color is wrong!

"Are you starting to feel dizzy?" Xiao Long appeared like a ghost.

This person is crazy; clearly, someone was relentlessly chasing after her, and the two of them had shaken off everyone else.

Xiao Zhixing stood up, shook his dizzy head, and raised his sword. "Enough talk, let's fight."

"I don't want to kill you. Why don't you come back to the Khan's capital with me and become my concubine?"

Xiao Long approached slowly, his weapon poised, his eyes gleaming with malice. "You are the most powerful woman I have ever seen. It would be quite a sight to see you crawling between my legs."

Xiao Zhixing gritted his teeth and remained calm. "Get out! You beast, you don't deserve to be here! I'd rather commit suicide than fall into your hands."

However, her body went limp, and she couldn't help but use her sword to prop herself up, staring intently at the other person.

Xiao Long laughed arrogantly and suddenly attacked her.

Xiao Zhixing tried his best to parry the attack, but his legs were weak and he was knocked away by the longsword in just one move, and he fell to the ground.

Xiao Long pointed his sword at her neck and laughed, "Finally, she's in my hands."

Silence. No one responded to him.

Xiao Long raised an eyebrow. Was he dizzy?

He was on high alert, and the tip of his sword plunged deep into her shoulder, spurting blood.

Xiao Zhixing remained completely unresponsive, as if dead, without even the slightest twitch of his muscles. Overjoyed, he realized that Xiao Zhixing had indeed been drugged into unconsciousness.

He then sheathed his sword, walked towards her, and prepared to bend down and carry her.
