Chapter 257 One Million Taels

Xiaoyue opened the door and rushed out to check, but didn't see anyone.

"Madam!" Xiaoyue turned around and closed the door, saying to Madam Feng who followed her, "Our time is running out."

Madam Feng gripped her hand tightly, her face pale and her breathing rapid, as if she could smell the scent of death.

She immediately turned around, ran to the bedside in the bedroom, opened the complicated hidden compartment, took out the box inside, and stuffed it into Xiaoyue's arms, who had followed her into the room. "Go, don't give it to Xi'er, just give this to your master."

"And what about you?" Xiaoyue hugged the box tighter. "Shall I take you out first?"

She always felt that something bad would happen if she left Madam Feng alone here.

Madam Feng took a deep breath. "I can't leave. I'll hold off Feng Liyan's men for you. I believe your master won't let me die, right?"

The Feng family has a master; if Feng Liyan finds out that this secret has been sent out, Xiaoyue will surely die.

At least until Feng Liyan confirms anything, she is safe.

Xiaoyue nodded vigorously, "Okay, then take care, Madam. I will call Ah Cao from our courtyard to protect you."

It is also another hidden plot within the mansion.

She had to contact her superiors, her master, and Princess Fengxi immediately.

Xiaoyue quickly left with the box in her arms. Another inconspicuous maidservant came in and whispered, "Madam, A-Cao has been ordered to protect you. Also, Sister Xiaoxing is missing."

Madam Feng gave a bitter laugh, tears streaming down her face. Xiao Xing was someone she had brought from her maiden home; had she betrayed her too?

Hahaha, what a joke! She's truly become a complete joke!

Soon, a soft voice rang out from outside, "Madam, why is the door closed in broad daylight? Are you perhaps doing something shady?"

Madam Feng wiped away her tears, gritted her teeth, and hated that voice with a passion.

This is the bewitching enchantress. Despite committing such a grave mistake, she managed to survive and even win back Feng Liyan's heart.

She suddenly felt incredibly tired. After fighting for half her life, she had still lost in the end.

At this moment, Feng Liyan's voice rang out, along with the sound of an old woman running around.

Without her permission, the maid barged in and forced her way through the door.

Aunt Feng followed closely behind, with Xiao Xing beside her. The two ran to the bedside in the bedroom. "Oh dear, what did Madam have taken away? And why was it hidden so well?"

Madam Feng sat there with a blank face and remained silent, while A-Cao was on high alert.

As Feng Liyan stepped in, Aunt Feng pointed to the hidden compartment and complained, "My lord, look, Madam hid something here and sent it away. It must have been something extraordinary."

Feng Liyan looked at Madam Feng suspiciously.

They just had a fight, so it's definitely suspicious what she's doing.

Aunt Feng continued to embellish the story, "Could it be valuables from our household?"

Madam Feng suddenly stood up and slapped Aunt Feng with all her might.

"Ah!" Aunt Feng was caught off guard and knocked over her chair when she was slapped.

Feng Liyan roared, "Insolence!"

Madam Feng went berserk, rushing over and sitting on Aunt Feng, slapping her repeatedly across the face. "I'm going to be even more outrageous! I should have killed you long ago, you slut! @*&**☆..."

Madam Feng unleashed a torrent of profanities, leaving everyone momentarily stunned.

Aunt Feng's screams jolted them awake. Feng Liyan jumped up, "Quickly, pull this madwoman away!!"

Madam Feng seemed to have gotten tired of fanning herself, and let them pull away. "Hahaha, today was really enjoyable, hahaha."

Seeing Aunt Feng, who was half-conscious and had her head slapped into a pig's head, everyone shuddered. Had the madam gone mad?

Madam Feng broke free from the old woman and said coldly, "I can beat this vile woman to death for spying on the mistress!"

Feng Liyan's face turned ashen. He ordered someone to send Aunt Feng away and angrily demanded, "What exactly did you send out?"

After being discovered, he went completely insane.

Madam Feng raised her chin. "It's nothing, just a million taels of silver."

Feng Liyan's eyes widened, he clutched his chest, his hair standing on end in fury, and his voice cracked, "One million taels?!"

He didn't ask her how she got so much money. There couldn't possibly be that much money in their entire household. It didn't make sense. Perhaps it was given to her by her family when she got married, or perhaps she had secretly accumulated and hidden it from the household.

The enormous sum of one million taels of silver momentarily robbed him of his ability to think. He was now consumed by extreme heartache and rage: "Where was it sent?!"

Madam Feng hid behind Ah Cao and sneered triumphantly, "Of course it's for Prince Yuansheng. I used silver to beg her to protect Xi'er. Heh, you'd better go ask her for it if you dare."

Feng Liyan was furious and rushed over to slap her.

Ah Cao blocked his way, and no matter how Feng Liyan tried to move, he couldn't touch Madam Feng.

No one else dared to come up and help.

Madam Feng laughed loudly, "Feeling sorry for him? I'll make you feel sorry for him! If you dare to sell my Xi'er, I dare to sell the Feng family!"

Feng Liyan was so angry he almost fell over, but the steward caught him and hurriedly reminded him, "My lord, my lord, let's go after them, we should still be able to catch up."

Feng Liyan instantly calmed down, "Seal off the entire mansion and immediately go after them!!"

The housekeeper busied himself making arrangements.

Feng Liyan stared at Madam Feng with a chilling gaze, "Very well, you slut!"

"Guards, seal off the courtyard! No one is allowed to enter or leave!"

Madam Feng wasn't afraid at all; she was ready to risk it all. "Perfect, I don't want to see such a disgusting thing as you either. Why don't you write me a letter of divorce?"

Feng Liyan's anger flared up again as he left. "You've emptied my household's coffers, and you think you can leave without making up the one million taels deficit?"

Once the silver notes enter his mansion, they belong to the Marquis's household.

He turned and left in a rage, anxiously chasing after the silver.

Everyone went outside, slammed the door shut, and the courtyard quickly returned to silence.

Madam Feng leaned weakly against Ah Cao, her face pale.
