Sunlight shines on the exquisite and luxurious Wutong Manor, surrounded by lush greenery that stretches as far as the eye can see.
Lin Qingtong stared in the direction Jiang Hao had left, a cold smile playing on her lips.
This person's thoughts are completely out in the open; you can see right through them.
She reached the second-floor terrace, holding onto the railing, and saw Jiang Hao chasing after Qi Huimin, explaining things incessantly, though she couldn't make out what he was saying.
A gentle breeze ruffled Lin Qingtong's hair as she rested her slender, delicate fingers on the railing, a smile playing on her lips.
Qi Huimin, I'm leaving the rest to you.
"Lin Qingtong".
Suddenly, a bright voice called out from behind. Lin Qingtong turned around and saw Huo Xinlan coming in this direction.
She wore a black dress, and her exposed skin was as white as jade, making her incredibly beautiful.
But Huo Xinlan's beauty is the kind that is confident, flamboyant, and extremely aggressive.
As he walked, his skirt fluttered, and he exuded a fierce aura.
Lin Qingtong was stunned. Huo Xinlan was Shen Tinghe's nominal fiancée. Why was she coming to find her now? Did she want to settle scores?
Before she could react, she was already standing in front of Lin Qingtong, her face expressionless, and the atmosphere around her seemed to freeze.
"Lin Qingtong, can we talk?"
Lin Qingtong smiled slightly and nodded: "Of course."
In truth, Lin Qingtong was feeling uneasy. If Huo Xinlan really wanted to pursue the matter, then she could only apologize sincerely.
But Lin Qingtong couldn't say anything more about the rest, since her relationship with Shen Tinghe was only a contractual one, which was originally established because of Huo Xinlan.
A glint of light flashed in her phoenix eyes as she gestured to the side, indicating that she should sit down and talk properly.
So Huo Xinlan sat down, and Lin Qingtong poured her a glass of red wine, asking with a smile.
"I wonder what Miss Huo wants to say."
Huo Xinlan suddenly leaned closer, her gaze sweeping over Lin Qingtong's pretty face, and she suddenly laughed.
"You are very beautiful."
Lin Qingtong chuckled and replied, "You're very beautiful too, so is there something you wanted to see me about?"
Huo Xinlan held her wine glass, leaned back elegantly in her chair, and smiled broadly.
"I'm only asking you to persuade Shen Tinghe to come to my Huo family to discuss annulmenting the engagement."
"Let me know in advance so I can put on an act and avoid being exposed."
Lin Qingtong didn't want to say much about Shen Tinghe and Huo Xinlan. She just smiled and looked at Huo Xinlan, waiting for her next words.
Seeing that Lin Qingtong remained silent, Huo Xinlan knew her concerns and suddenly pointed her slender finger at the female companion who had come with her to the banquet on the first floor.
"Did you see that? She came with me. I like her very much and consider her a confidante in my life. You can't understand that kind of feeling."
"Because of her, I have no intention of getting married in this life. Men are just too disgusting."
She quickly added.
"Of course, Shen Tinghe doesn't count; he's an unconventional individual."
Lin Qingtong tilted her head slightly and smiled, "Is it possible that if you sit down and have a heart-to-heart talk with Shen Tinghe, the situation might change?"
"Besides, my relationship with Shen Tinghe isn't what you think."
Her words were loaded with meaning, but Huo Xinlan didn't understand them at the moment; she just looked slightly anxious.
When Huo Xinlan got anxious, her expression became somewhat fierce.
Her lips moved as if she was about to say something, but a tall, aloof figure appeared, interrupting Huo Xinlan.
"Huo Xinlan".
Huo Xinlan turned around and saw Shen Tinghe striding towards her with no expression on his face and a noticeably lower aura around him.
Shen Tinghe glanced indifferently at Huo Xinlan, then turned to look at Lin Qingtong, his tone becoming somewhat somber.
Did he bully you?
Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong was taken aback. Taking advantage of this moment, Huo Xinlan raised an eyebrow and smiled, deliberately pretending to look fierce.
"He stole my fiancé, so why can't I bully him?"
“Shen Tinghe, if you really like her, you should make a move no matter what.”
Shen Tinghe took a few steps toward Lin Qingtong, his deep gaze sweeping over her delicate and beautiful features.
Seeing that she was indeed alright, he seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
Taking advantage of this moment, Huo Xinlan winked at Lin Qingtong, her eyes full of mockery.
His eyes seemed to say—look how much Shen Tinghe cares about you.
When Lin Qingtong saw Huo Xinlan's gaze, her ears burned. When did Shen Tinghe become so oblivious that he couldn't even tell that Huo Xinlan was acting?
Her ears were burning hot, and the heat spread down her cheeks, which were pink and delicate, making her truly beautiful.
Shen Tinghe felt the same way, and as if possessed, he reached out and touched Lin Qingtong's cheek, a smile on his lips that he himself did not realize.
Lin Qingtong felt the touch on her cheek and immediately stared wide-eyed at Shen Tinghe.
"What are you doing!"
Shen Tinghe finally came to his senses, his eyes darkening, but he still kept staring at Lin Qingtong, which was unsettling.
Huo Xinlan teased mercilessly, "Hey—I'm still right here, can you guys be a little more discreet? Are you going to sleep with me in front of me later?"
Her words were so explicit that even though she had slept with Shen Tinghe many times, Lin Qingtong couldn't help but feel embarrassed and annoyed, and coughed twice before speaking.
"Miss Huo, you've misunderstood—"
Before she could finish speaking, Shen Tinghe said something indifferently.
"If you don't mind, I can perform for you."
