Lin Qingtong was surprised to find that all the appliances were the right size for the company, and even more to her liking than the ones she had previously chosen.
She thought to herself, perhaps William of the East is not what he seems on the surface.
After the appliances were finally installed, Lin Qingtong received a phone call.
It was Lin Yan calling.
Lin Qingtong felt like she hadn't heard from him in a long time. After thinking for a moment, she answered the phone to avoid him going to bother her mother if he couldn't find her.
As soon as the call connected, Lin Yan sounded smug and very happy.
“I’m planning to go see your sister tonight. She’s had a baby, and you don’t even care. You’re such an ingrate. She’s still my sister, after all.”
As he continued, his words towards Lin Qingtong were full of accusations.
Lin Qingtong might have cared about his criticisms in the past, but now she doesn't care at all.
Lin Qingtong stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in her office, looking at the vast view in the distance, and smiled faintly.
"So what's the point of you making this call?"
Seeing that Lin Qingtong had no reaction, Lin Yan immediately felt it was pointless and coldly said something.
"What do you think I mean by talking to your father like that? I'm planning to go see your sister tonight, and you'll come with me."
Lin Qingtong refused without hesitation: "I'm not going."
Lin Yan's voice suddenly rose in anger, "Aren't you going?"
“If you don’t go, how will I have the money to send him? Your sister told me that she plans to have this child adopted by Master Shen Kaixuan, and he might become the heir of the Shen family in the future.”
He realized he had let something slip after he said that, and immediately added something else.
"What I mean is that you have to go. You're still dating Master Shen, so you can't let the Shen family look down on the Lin family."
