Shen Tinghe reached out and caught Lin Qingtong steadily. He hugged her tightly and then rubbed his chin against her cheek.
Lin Qingtong then wrapped her arms tightly around his strong waist to make sure it wasn't an illusion.
She could clearly smell the refreshing fragrance emanating from Shen Tinghe, as well as the pounding of his heart.
At that moment, she knew that she had finally returned to Shen Tinghe's side.
So he started crying uncontrollably, just like an innocent child.
Shen Tinghe reached out and gently patted her back, comforting her with repeated words.
"It's okay, I'm here. No one will be able to bully you from now on."
"And no one can take you away from me again."
Lin Qingtong nodded, her voice choked with emotion, unable to utter a single word.
She's finally back.
After finally letting go of Shen Tinghe, Lin Qingtong felt a little embarrassed.
With red eyes, she wiped away tears from the corners of her eyes, saying, "I didn't cry."
Hearing her stubborn words, Shen Tinghe chuckled softly.
"Yes, you didn't cry, I was the one who cried."
Just then, Shen Tinghe's men rescued the old man from the plane.
The old man, sitting in a wheelchair, was pushed over, and thanked Lin Qingtong at the same time.
"Thank you, girl."
Lin Qingtong smiled gently and immediately began to explain the old man's situation to Shen Tinghe.
"By the way, let me introduce you. This is William Dongfang's father, but he doesn't get along with William. William locked him up in the manor. I was able to escape because of his help."
Shen Tinghe's gaze swept over the old man with some wariness and inquiry, but he quickly relaxed.
"Thank you for your help, sir. I'll take care of you in your old age from now on. Don't worry, William Dongfang won't come after you."
After he finished speaking, his eyes turned colder.
If William Dongfang dares to kidnap Lin Qingtong, then he should expect William Dongfang's furious wrath.
Shen Tinghe successfully picked up Lin Qingtong and took her back to Wutong Manor.
The sunlight felt wonderfully warm on Lin Qingtong's body. She looked up at Shen Tinghe beside her and couldn't help but smile.
With Shen Tinghe around, it seems that no matter how difficult the world is, it's not a problem.
Because they can stand together and face the storms together.
As soon as Lin Qingtong and the others stepped into the manor, Su Wanjun and Datong appeared.
Su Wanjun practically ran over in tears, grabbing Lin Qingtong tightly with her hands, her eyes filled with concern and tears.
"Tongtong, you're finally back! Mom was so scared!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong patted Su Wanjun's hand in return and comforted her softly.
"Mom, I'm fine. Look, I'm perfectly alright, aren't I?"
Su Wanjun breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Lin Qingtong was indeed alright, and at the same time, she burst into tears.
"It's good that you're back. We'll go back for dinner; it'll be all your favorite dishes."
Lin Qingtong, arm in arm with Su Wanjun, smiled gently at Datong.
"Thank you for taking care of things these past few days."
Da Tong initially smiled innocently, but suddenly he saw the person being pushed by the bodyguard frown and make a strange noise.
"You, you!"
Lin Qingtong heard Datong's voice, looked over curiously, and saw his surprised expression. She asked him in confusion.
"What's wrong? Do you know this old man?"
She knew Dongfang Qingfeng's identity, but she didn't intend to reveal it directly, lest others misbehave because of Dongfang William's treatment of the old man.
Unexpectedly, Datong knew the old man.
Datong burst into tears and walked over, half-squatting in front of the person.
"Big brother!"
Lin Qingtong was stunned. Could it be that Datong had other older brothers?
The old man didn't say that Datong had admitted his mistake, but instead smiled gently and patted Datong's head.
"I'm sorry for making you worry. I was planning to find you after I escaped."
"I didn't expect you to be so amazing, Datong, that you managed to get out all by yourself."
While wiping away his tears with a wronged expression, Datong pointed at Lin Qingtong and said, "Big brother, this is a friend I know."
"By the way, I've left all the letters you gave me with them."
He spoke incoherently, and Lin Qingtong didn't quite understand him, but the old man did, and praised him with a smile.
"You're great, Datong."
Lin Qingtong, who had been listening for a while, suddenly understood something and stepped forward to ask.
"Sir, do you know Datong?"
The old man slowly raised his eyes to look at Lin Qingtong, tears welling up in his aged eyes.
"I know more than just Datong..."
Before he could finish speaking, Su Wanjun's voice trembled as she spoke.
"You still recognize me."
Su Wanjun stepped forward slowly, staring intently at the old man before her, and spoke in a choked voice.
"Hua Qingfeng, you're a liar."
The old man supported himself on his wheelchair with one hand, trying to stand up but failing. Finally, he answered with a sob in his voice.
"Wanjun, I'm sorry, I had no choice back then. Actually, I did come back to see you."
Seeing this, Lin Qingtong finally realized that the person in front of her was Hua Qingfeng, whom they had been searching for.
That is, his father whom he had never met.
Her heart tightened, but the first thing she thought of was William Dongfang.
As William Dongfang said before, this man was his treacherous father.
That would mean that she is William of the East's half-sibling.
She just felt it was absurd; how could she have gotten involved with someone like that?
But she didn't expect the outcome to be even more absurd than she had imagined.
Lin Qingtong subconsciously looked up at Shen Tinghe, who clearly thought of something as well, and came to her side to ask in a low voice.
"Are you sure this is William Dongfang's father? Have you confirmed his date of birth?"
