Lin Qingtong sat on the sofa watching TV, but she couldn't concentrate on anything. She just wanted to know what the two of them were saying in the room, and why they were acting so mysteriously.
So Lin Qingtong cautiously leaned closer and pressed her ear against the door, trying to hear clearly, but the door suddenly opened.
Shen Tinghe came out from inside carrying a suitcase, looking as if he couldn't wait to see Dongfang William off.
"I'll see you to your car."
William from the East followed behind with a cold snort, "You'd better do it."
Then, William Dongfang immediately got into his car and left.
After he left, Lin Qingtong stepped forward and asked, "What were you saying inside? Why won't you let me hear?"
Shen Tinghe smiled and patted her hair. "He warned me not to make you sad, or he'll come back and settle the score with me."
Although Lin Qingtong didn't quite believe it, she didn't press the matter further. Just as she was about to go home, Shen Tinghe suddenly spoke up.
"Something came up at my company that I need to deal with."
Shen Tinghe left with a single sentence and rushed off to the company, while Lin Qingtong was filled with doubt.
Why do these two seem so strange? What exactly did they say to each other just now?
But since both of them had already left, Lin Qingtong had no way of knowing and could only go home and continue watching TV.
Sitting in the large living room, Lin Qingtong felt a vague unease, as if something was about to happen.
So he immediately called to find out what had happened.
It turned out that Eastern William's businesses were completely unaffected.
Lin Qingtong sat in the living room, her whole body radiating coldness. If everything was alright abroad, why would Dongfang William lie to her?
She was completely baffled, but now she couldn't find anyone from Eastern William.
When Su Wanjun woke up in the morning, she wondered why the two of them weren't there. Lin Qingtong could only give her a perfunctory answer. On her way to work, she dialed the number of Dongfang William.
When no one answered the phone, Lin Qingtong grew increasingly angry.
What exactly are they planning? They've been keeping it from me all this time.
Lin Qingtong had been holding back her anger, but because she was thinking about their previous behavior, she didn't lash out directly.
After arriving at the company, Lin Qingtong felt uneasy, so she went to Shen Tinghe's company. She stood outside the office and looked at Shen Tinghe and Dongfang William inside, her gaze darkening.
She took out her phone and dialed Shen Tinghe's number.
"How are things going at the company? Do you need my help?"
Shen Tinghe sat there and answered in a serious tone.
"It's nothing serious, I'll be back as soon as I'm done, don't worry."
Shen Tinghe spoke sincerely, but Lin Qingtong sneered repeatedly. She wanted to see how long these two could keep it from her.
Lin Qingtong then left the company and returned to the Lin family villa.
Before she even got close, she saw a furtive figure lurking at the door.
Lin Qingtong immediately recognized the person as Qi Huimin, who was holding a child in her arms.
She went straight up to him and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Qi Huimin turned her head and saw Lin Qingtong. She panicked and tried to run away, but Lin Qingtong grabbed her.
"You're already here, why run away?"
Holding the crying and struggling child in her arms, Qi Huimin couldn't help but tear up and suddenly knelt down to beg Lin Qingtong for mercy.
"Please help me save my child."
Lin Qingtong couldn't help but look at the child in her arms, only to see that the child's face was pale and looked very pitiful compared to the previous chubby and fair-skinned child.
What's wrong with your child?
Qi Huimin answered with a sob in her voice: "My child was diagnosed with hemolytic disease a while ago. I took him to the hospital for treatment, but Jiang Hao disagreed at all when he saw that it would cost so much money to treat the disease."
"He even wants to abandon the child and make us have another one. You know how it is for us to have another one?"
Lin Qingtong stared at her thoughtfully, "What about Cao Kui?"
When Qi Huimin heard Cao Kui's name, she cried even harder.
“His family arranged a blind date for him, so he left, and he irresponsibly said that the child wasn’t his.”
"He also said that if I could prove that this was his child, he would tell Jiang Hao."
Qi Huimin held the child and kept kowtowing; she looked extremely pitiful.
Lin Qingtong felt a pang of pity; no matter what happened to the adults, the child was always innocent.
She sighed and asked, "Didn't you contact Madam Jiang or the old man?"
Speaking of this, Qi Huimin said with hatred, "Madam Jiang ran away with the money, which made the old man sick and hospitalized. Jiang Hao got the money, so he didn't want to take care of me and the children anymore. He wanted to find another woman to have children with."
"I heard that he recently hooked up with a very wealthy family and they're planning to get engaged."
Lin Qingtong couldn't help but get a little angry when she heard this.
Jiang Hao is so heartless! His grandfather is in the hospital, and he's going to marry her without any regard for him.
"Take the child to the hospital first, I'll pay for the medical expenses. Also, tell me where Jiang Hao is."
Qi Huimin nodded, hugged the child and thanked him repeatedly, then sent Lin Qingtong an address.
Lin Qingtong transferred money to him so he could go to the hospital for treatment. She then went to the address and found that it was a rural resort.
Lin Qingtong glanced at it again before driving off.
The road was dusty and there were very few vehicles. Lin Qingtong felt increasingly uneasy; something felt wrong.
But she was already on the road and wanted to turn, but there were cars behind her and she wasn't allowed to turn around at all.
Lin Qingtong finally realized something was wrong; this was clearly aimed at her.
