Lin Qingtong looked up at Shen Tinghe with a puzzled expression, only to see that he looked extremely serious and his brows were slightly furrowed.
The moment she saw it clearly again, Lin Qingtong came to her senses and immediately locked the car door.
After the car door clicked shut and locked from the inside, the driver of the white truck, wearing a hat, approached and knocked on the door through the window, speaking in a menacing tone.
"How could you drive like that? You hit me! Get out of the car and let's discuss compensation!"
Lin Qingtong saw a scar on the other person's face through the car window. He looked rough and fierce, and was clearly not someone to be trifled with.
"I have already called the police."
She waved her phone in her hand, her eyes fixed on the burly man in front of her, observing his expression.
Upon hearing that Lin Qingtong had called the police, the burly man angrily pounded on the glass, causing the entire car door to shake.
"You bastard, who told you to call the police? Get out of the car and deal with this right now!!"
The vehicle was parked on the road, and cars behind it kept honking their horns.
Amidst the intense noise, Lin Qingtong's hands trembled uncontrollably, a subconscious physiological fear.
Lin Qingtong tried her best to remain calm and attempted to restart the vehicle, but her hands kept shaking.
Shen Tinghe suddenly grabbed her hand and started the car together, his voice cold.
"Don't worry, I'm here. Do you need to change seats?"
Lin Qingtong looked up and saw that Shen Tinghe's eyes were full of concern, so she shook her head in reply.
"It's okay, I can do it."
She forced a smile, then a resolute glint flashed in her eyes.
Lin Qingtong stepped on the gas and the car sped forward. Through the rearview mirror, she saw the burly man cursing behind her.
“This person is suspicious. He must have hit me on purpose. Take my phone and call the police right now.”
She gripped the steering wheel tightly and gave instructions to Shen Tinghe.
Lin Qingtong had just placed her phone by the car door, so Shen Tinghe had to lean down to get closer; his tall frame exuded a powerful sense of oppression.
Her breath hitched, and she felt a sticky smell in the air.
As the car sped along the street, the sunlight outside dappled into tiny rays that reflected on Lin Qingtong's face.
She kept her eyes fixed ahead, not daring to look at Shen Tinghe, but she could feel his strong, powerful arms tightly holding her waist.
The intense heat mixed with the air rushed towards her, causing Lin Qingtong's heart to race.
Finally, Shen Tinghe got his phone and sat down next to her, the faint scent of cedar wafting through the air.
Shen Tinghe used his long, slender fingers to unlock his phone and skillfully entered the password.
Seeing Shen Tinghe skillfully enter the password, Lin Qingtong was taken aback and looked ahead to ask him a question.
How did you know the password?
Shen Tinghe smiled slightly: "I've slept with you so many times, if I don't even know your password, wouldn't that be a waste?"
Lin Qingtong's cheeks flushed slightly. Looking in the rearview mirror, she saw that the white truck had caught up with them.
Her expression suddenly changed, and at an intersection, she abruptly changed lanes and turned left.
The truck suddenly stopped there, blaring its horn.
Lin Qingtong abruptly turned the steering wheel, her expression resolute and aloof, and finally headed towards the outskirts of Beijing.
"Don't call the police yet."
Her tone was icy, and she gave a cold laugh before continuing her explanation.
"Since they want to attack me, I might as well give them a surprise."
"A huge surprise."
...
On the wide asphalt streets in the outskirts of Beijing, there are tall and straight trees on both sides.
Lin Qingtong drove forward, with the white truck behind her.
The truck roared in, chasing after them at top speed, but Lin Qingtong was not to be outdone.
As dusk settles, large swaths of orange light are cast upon the straight trees, creating a breathtakingly beautiful interplay of light and shadow.
Lin Qingtong drove to an abandoned hospital parking lot on the outskirts of Beijing, where the scene was desolate.
When the wind blows, the fallen leaves on the ground rustle, and the cement ground has long been cracked, with weeds growing in one crack after another.
As soon as the car came to a stop, a white truck roared into view from the doorway and sped straight toward their vehicle.
With a bang, the white truck slammed the vehicle into the wall, then bounced back a few steps before charging straight up again.
Seeing that the car had been run over enough, the burly man opened the car door, walked menacingly to the wall, and bent down to check the situation inside the car.
A wicked smile curled at the corner of his mouth; he must be a bloody mess by now.
The scene he had imagined did not happen. He was stunned for a moment, and was about to check it again when he was hit on the back of the head with a bang.
He slowly turned around and saw Lin Qingtong and Shen Tinghe standing there unharmed, while he collapsed to the ground.
Lin Qingtong held the iron crowbar upright beside her with one hand, her eyes and brows exuding a cool and aloof air, and smiled with her head tilted to the side.
"Did you like this surprise?"
With one hand in his pocket, Shen Tinghe waved his hand, and six bodyguards in black rushed forward, dragging the burly man toward the abandoned hospital grounds.
When the burly man woke up again, he was already tightly bound to a chair, with flames burning fiercely on one side.
Night fell, and the chill clashed with the firelight. The burly man's hat had long been removed, and blood seeped from the corner of his mouth, which was bluish-purple.
Lin Qingtong slowly stepped out of the darkness, the iron crowbar she dragged across the concrete ground, sparking tiny flashes of light.
Who exactly are you?
She stared coldly at the burly man before her, her entire being radiating an endless chill.
The burly man stared intently at Lin Qingtong, spat out a mouthful of blood, and then sneered.
"Who I am is not important, what matters is that I want your life."
Lin Qingtong frowned slightly, pointing the iron crowbar at the other party, her tone cold and terrifying.
