Chapter Sixty-Six: Divorce Gifts

On the day of the banquet, Lin Qingtong heard a noisy commotion before she even woke up.

The courtyard downstairs was filled with Qi Huimin's arrogant and domineering commands.

"Didn't I tell you already? You arranged all of this in advance. Why do I need to worry about it? If I could do everything, what use would I be to you?"

Lin Qingtong drew back the curtains and stood by the window; she hated being woken up from her sleep.

My gaze fell on Qi Huimin below. She was wearing a pink Chanel-style suit, her belly slightly protruding, and she was giving orders to all the servants with an arrogant attitude.

The servants outwardly obeyed, but inwardly they couldn't help but complain. Lin Qingtong had never yelled at them like this when she held banquets before.

Laying a carpet smoothly and attractively takes a lot of time.

When Lin Qingtong was around, she would always instruct them to take their time and make sure the carpet was laid out properly.

Otherwise, it would be embarrassing if a guest fell down.

Qi Huimin was unaware of this, only feeling that they had wasted more than ten minutes on a carpet.

She had inquired about Lin Qingtong beforehand, and prepared everything for the banquet in just two hours.

Then she would have to do all of this in an hour. If the other person could do it, why couldn't she?

Lin Qingtong was unaware of what Qi Huimin was thinking. Instead, she drew the curtains and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

When she came out again, a black fitted knit dress accentuated her slender figure, and her full-figured body made her look even more beautiful and youthful.

She hadn't even put on makeup; simply changing her clothes was enough to make her stunning.

Lin Qingtong casually tied her hair up, lightly brushed her eyebrows, applied a light lipstick, and gracefully went downstairs.

The moment she appeared, almost everyone's eyes were drawn to her. Despite not wearing any luxurious clothes, she was so bright and dazzling.

Her porcelain-white skin made her look even more perfect. She casually helped the servants beside her carry things, whispering instructions to them.

"Be careful, no rush."

Qi Huimin, watching from the side, was filled with jealousy. She put her hands on her hips and deliberately scolded the servants.

"You're moving so slowly, why don't you hurry up? The Jiang family doesn't support you for nothing."

Her words were loaded with meaning, but her eyes lingered on Lin Qingtong out of the corner of her eye.

Lin Qingtong rested her slender fingers on the railing, not even giving Qi Huimin a second glance.

It's just a case of a petty person getting their way.

So Lin Qingtong went to the kitchen, wanting to find something to eat for breakfast. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that most of the ingredients in the warehouse were frozen, and the baskets of fruit were either black or rotten.

She frowned slightly and pushed open the warehouse door to get a better look, but Qi Huimin suddenly rushed over and blocked the doorway, questioning her unhappily.

"Sister, what are you doing? If there's a problem with the ingredients later, I'll start to suspect you."

Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong took a few steps back, gazing calmly at Qi Huimin, already vaguely guessing what was going on in her mind.

Her lips curled in sarcasm as she leaned down and whispered a reminder.

"You'd better keep a close eye on things, or someone will find fault with you."

Lin Qingtong then turned and left, leaving Qi Huimin standing there in a daze.

She didn't quite understand why Lin Qingtong wanted to help her.

Lin Qingtong casually grabbed some freshly baked bread and went back to her room to eat, since today's events had nothing to do with her anyway.

Since she was about to divorce Jiang Hao, there was no need for her to attend these banquets and help her out.

A knock suddenly sounded at the door. Lin Qingtong turned around and saw Jiang Hao walk in carrying a gift box.

"Qingtong, there are some things I want to tell you."

Lin Qingtong glanced at Jiang Hao, finished her bread with her slender fingers, and maintained an elegant and noble demeanor.

She didn't immediately send Jiang Hao away, which meant she allowed him to continue talking.

Jiang Hao stepped forward, carefully placed the gift next to Lin Qingtong, then stepped back a few paces and smiled gently.

"I'm here today because I need your help. It's my mother's birthday, and all the powerful and influential people in Beijing will be there. So I'd like to ask you to cooperate with me and put on a show."

"Don't worry, I'll agree to any conditions."

Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong glanced at Jiang Hao indifferently, a cold smile spreading across her red lips.

"I only have one condition—to sign the divorce agreement."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Hao's expression changed for a moment, and he immediately threatened him in a cold voice.

"Didn't we agree before that we would get a divorce after my uncle made his investment? What kind of trouble are you causing now?"

"As long as your uncle invests, the company will become a company with tens of billions in assets. Even if you get divorced, you can still get half of it."

Lin Qingtong rested her slender fingers on her arm, her expression icy cold.

"I don't need it."

She was very clear-headed and knew that Jiang Hao would never give her any of his company's assets.

They would also not be delusional enough to want things they shouldn't have.

Jiang Hao's dark and gloomy gaze lingered on Lin Qingtong before he spoke in an unfriendly tone.

"I can sign the agreement, but only after the banquet. Don't worry, I will definitely sign it."

"Consider this gift a divorce present."

After reaching an agreement, Jiang Hao turned and left the room, his back view seemingly carrying a hint of loneliness.

Lin Qingtong glanced at it, then slowly opened the gift box.

Inside lay a ruby necklace, its delicate brilliance like a galaxy, radiating a dazzling light.

She reached out and touched it, recalling a beautiful time she had spent with Jiang Hao in the past.

It was a time of youthful fearlessness, filled with exuberant laughter, and the chance to point to the night sky and make a promise that one day one would see the Milky Way in the far north.

Lin Qingtong lowered her eyes and smiled lightly, closed the gift box, and walked out to return it to Jiang Hao.

Now she doesn't want anything from him; she just finds it disgusting.

The person who once vowed to marry her has changed beyond recognition in just a few years.

It's not that time is too cruel, but that the other party has revealed their true colors.

Jiang Hao was just a selfish and cowardly guy.

Lin Qingtong had just reached the stairwell and was about to go upstairs when Qi Huimin stopped her, her gaze falling on the gift box.

Qi Huimin snatched it away directly, her expression extremely displeased.

"Who gave you permission to take my things?"

She remembered that Jiang Hao had bought it a few days ago and had deliberately hidden it, intending to give it to Lin Qingtong.

A cold glint flashed in Qi Huimin's eyes. No, she absolutely couldn't let that bitch Lin Qingtong get away with it.

"This was clearly bought for me by Hao Ge. You shamelessly went and took it. You're just shameless."

Lin Qingtong found Qi Huimin's words amusing; had this person been kicked in the head by a donkey?

Well, since this thing belongs to Jiang Hao anyway, it's only natural for Qi Huimin to take it.

"I don't want to waste my breath on you." Lin Qingtong turned around and left the villa.

She walked alone on both sides of the tree-lined street, surrounded by luxury cars, all of them on their way to the Jiang family's banquet.

Lin Qingtong stepped into the dappled sunlight, as if the light itself had been obliterated.

Suddenly, a menacing figure loomed over her.
