Chapter Thirty-Four: What a sorry sight!

Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong changed into slippers and answered without even glancing at Jiang Hao.

"I'm going home for dinner. Is there anything you need? No, I'm going to rest."

Lin Qingtong was carrying her laptop and was about to walk towards her room when Jiang Hao grabbed her arm.

"Is this how you talk to me?"

Lin Qingtong flung Jiang Hao's hand away, her eyes icy cold.

"So what do you want to say? Just say it, stop with the nonsense."

Jiang Hao's expression changed slightly, and he immediately let out a cold snort.

"Don't go to your uncle's place anymore. From now on, stay at home and be a rich housewife. I'll support you."

When the last sentence reached Lin Qingtong's ears, she found it amusing and immediately crossed her arms and laughed out loud.

"You're going to support me? What will you use to support me?"

"Don't forget, I'm the one who made all the money in the company. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have had any money to spend these past few years abroad."

These words provoked Jiang Hao, who gritted his teeth and threatened him.

"If you hadn't married me, would you have such a big company to manage? You should be thanking me."

Lin Qingtong glanced at her, her lips curled in a sarcastic smile.

"When your company came into my hands, it was so poor that it only had three or four employees left. Not only were it in debt, but it didn't even have a proper office space."

"I've built this company up step by step over three years, and you come back and say things like that? Who gave you the nerve?"

Jiang Hao naturally knew that what Lin Qingtong said was true.

When Lin Qingtong said she wanted a company to manage, he deliberately chose one that was most likely to go bankrupt. Unexpectedly, she actually managed to build it up.

But how could Jiang Hao possibly admit his lack of ability?

He forced a smile and retorted, "In the end, this company still belongs to the Jiang family. Anyway, you don't need to go to your uncle's side."

"If you insist on going, then we'll get a divorce."

Lin Qingtong scoffed, "That's perfect, divorce is exactly what I want."

Under the bright crystal chandelier, Jiang Hao stared intently at Lin Qingtong's stunningly beautiful face, feeling that she must be playing hard to get.

If she really wanted a divorce, she would have done it three years ago. Why wait until now?

Jiang Hao sneered and confidently raised his chin.

“I’ve said it before: if you want a divorce, then wait until the company’s investment is successful. Otherwise, you will remain Mrs. Jiang in name only forever.”

"But don't worry, I will never touch you, because I only love Huimin, she is my true love."

As he said this, his eyes lingered on Lin Qingtong's face, as if trying to catch a trace of jealousy in her expression.

But Lin Qingtong's expression remained calm as she calmly watched Jiang Hao and let out a cold laugh.

"If it's true love, then divorce me and I'll grant your wish."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Hao panicked. Did Lin Qingtong really want to divorce him?

Impossible, it's definitely Lin Qingtong playing hard to get.

A surge of powerless anger welled up within Jiang Hao. His eyes suddenly turned icy, and he reached out to snatch the computer from Lin Qingtong's hand.

"I'm telling you, starting tomorrow, don't even think about going to work at the company."

He snatched the computer from Lin Qingtong's hand and slammed it to the ground, where it instantly shattered and lay on the floor.

Lin Qingtong slapped him across the face, her whole body radiating coldness.

"Jiang Hao, you were the one who wronged me first!"

With a loud bang, a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, and raindrops the size of beans pounded against the glass, quickly leaving streaks of water.

Lin Qingtong left after saying a few words, picked up the computer from the ground, and left the Jiang family.

She had just gotten into the car and was about to start it when she couldn't get it to start.

Left with no other option, Lin Qingtong took out her umbrella and walked to the side of the road.

Now that things have turned out this way, she has no choice but to take a taxi to get her computer repaired.

Tomorrow is the deadline for submitting the design draft. If it's not fixed now, I'm afraid I won't be able to submit it.

Lin Qingtong, clutching her old computer and holding an umbrella, swayed precariously in the raging storm.

Finally managing to hail a taxi, Lin Qingtong got in and headed straight for the repair shop.

The repair shop was preparing to close for the day and wasn't planning on serving any customers.

But when you look at Lin Qingtong, you see that she is wet, holding a computer in her arms, and with that stunningly beautiful face, she is truly pitiful to behold.

The repairman, feeling sorry for Lin Qingtong, agreed to let her take a look.

But as soon as I turned on the computer, the other person frowned slightly and shook their head to refuse.

"It's going to be difficult to fix your computer. Even if you do manage to fix it, the data inside will probably be gone, unless you have exceptionally high technical skills."

Upon hearing this, Lin Qingtong's face paled slightly. She gave the other party a grateful smile, then picked up her computer and left the repair shop.

Outside, the wind and rain raged relentlessly, and Lin Qingtong felt a chill creep up from the soles of her feet to her entire body.

She felt a chill run through her body and instead of returning to the Jiang family home, she took a taxi directly to the Shen Group building.

She pinned her last hope on the company computer, hoping that her previous actions had been recorded.

Lin Qingtong dragged herself to her workstation, soaking wet, and as soon as she turned on her computer, the records on it were completely clean.

In that instant, Lin Qingtong felt her heart sink suddenly, like a falling leaf spinning and falling.

It seems even God himself is determined to prevent her from submitting the design draft.

Outside, thunder and lightning raged, but Lin Qingtong felt a surge of resentment.

Why should I submit to the arrangements of fate?

If the design is lost, she will recreate it.

A resolute glint flashed in Lin Qingtong's eyes. She casually wiped herself with the blanket on her seat and prepared to redraw the design draft.

"You really are in a sorry state, with nowhere to go in this heavy rain?"

A deep, hoarse voice rang out in the dark office.

Lin Qingtong was startled. She looked up and saw that it was Shen Tinghe. She immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

It turned out to be just Shen Tinghe; she had thought she had encountered a ghost.

Her slender, delicate fingers landed on the table as she looked in Shen Tinghe's direction with interest.

"So it's your uncle. Why aren't you home so late? What are you doing here?"

Shen Tinghe approached slowly, his clothes clean and tidy, the dim light seeming to envelop him in a soft glow.

"Lin Qingtong, if you really have nowhere to go, I can reluctantly take you in."

How could Lin Qingtong easily admit her disheveled state? Her smile grew even brighter, and she called out softly in her voice.

"Mr. Shen."

She gently beckoned to Shen Tinghe with her finger, her eyes and brows brimming with captivating beauty.

Shen Tinghe leaned closer and saw Lin Qingtong with her hand on his neck, her red lips looking luscious and tempting.

"Come closer."

He moved closer again, but suddenly heard a crisp snapping sound.

Before he could react, Lin Qingtong had already pulled herself back, grabbed his name tag, and gracefully swiped the swipe card to open the door to the president's office in her high heels.

After swiping the door open, she didn't forget to close it, and waved to Shen Tinghe with a smile through the glass.

Goodnight, Mr. Shen!
