Chapter 110 Madam, are you really not going to wait for Mr. Bo to wake up?

As Bo Jinzhou was wheeled into the operating room, Jiang Yimian completely collapsed, her whole body stiff and her limbs feeling cold and numb.

Tears had already streamed down her face without her realizing it. The entire hospital was sealed off. A hurried figure ran over and looked down at the woman, who seemed lost in thought and lifeless.

He crouched down. "Jiang Yimian?"

A pair of scarlet eyes lifted, lips dry, face showing a haggard and broken look. The man before her was handsome and refined, with a completely different temperament from Bo Jinzhou.

"Get up and go rest. I'll watch over things here."

"Who are you?"

“Pei Yan,” he paused, then added, “Cousin A Jin.”

Jiang Yimian slowly looked towards the operating room door, where scarlet words hung above.

Will he die?

Pei Yan looked at her with a complicated expression: "Do you want him dead?"

Her wet eyelashes trembled violently. She didn't reply, but just remained sitting on the ground in that position.

Time passed second by second, and the sticky blood on her hands had dried and clung tightly to her skin, as if it were about to become one with her.

Pei Yan covered her with a piece of clothing. His subordinates came over to report, and Pei Yan looked at her with complicated eyes.

Three hours passed, during which the doctor issued two critical condition notices. Jiang Yimian signed them with trembling hands, forcing herself to persevere.

It seemed that the Pei family had sent people again, and all their eyes were on her. Their eyes held unspoken words, some with dissatisfaction, and others with utter disgust.

She couldn't see anything, her eyes dry and sore as she stared intently at the operating room until the lights went out. Only then did Jiang Yimian stand up quickly, like a robot whose program had been activated. But her legs were so stiff that she couldn't stand. She limped forward anxiously, but was blocked by the Pei family members.

She stood quietly at the back, watching Bo Jinzhou being wheeled out and taken into the intensive care unit.

Jiang Yimian looked through the glass at the man inside who was on a ventilator. Gone was his usual coldness and powerful aura; his sickly paleness made it almost impossible to sense his life. The doctor's words echoed in her mind.

Although he is out of danger, he still needs to be observed. The bullet broke a bone and damaged an internal organ. It is fortunate that he survived.

Song Zhou's voice came from behind: "Madam."

Song Zhou was much darker, and his physique was strong but thin. His eyes were filled with tears. "I just got the news and rushed over here."

Jiang Yimian's voice was hoarse: "Where is Guo Jie?"

"At the hotel, you can rest assured that our people will protect him in layers."

“Take me to see him.”

Song Zhou glanced at Bo Jinzhou in the intensive care unit: "Madam, Mr. Bo is still not awake."

"He's alright now."

She kept walking out, as if afraid that if she slowed down, she would be reluctant to leave.

"Sister-in-law, you should at least wait until my brother wakes up before you leave."

Pei Xin spoke up for Bo Jinzhou, saying, "You just left without any conscience at all."

A weary, aged voice came through: "Alright, let her go if she wants to."

"Grandma," Pei Xin called out in dissatisfaction.

Jiang Yimian looked at the Pei family, her eyes calm and cool like the clear water in a well. Old Mrs. Pei sat in her wheelchair with a kind face and not a single white hair, exuding a dignified and noble air.

“Miss Jiang, from the moment we arrived at the hospital, you haven’t called out to me once. It seems that your relationship with A-Jin isn’t very deep.”

“Since that’s the case, you should get a divorce after A-Jin recovers. You’ve gotten what you wanted. A-Jin doesn’t owe you anything. On the contrary, you owe him a lot. I don’t know much about what happened between you two, but please understand my feelings. All Shu-Yi has left in this world is A-Jin. He is my grandson, and I unconditionally favor him. I truly do not want you two to be together.”

“Since Miss Jiang has no interest in A Jin, then things will be easier.”

A surge of bittersweet emotion welled up in her chest, almost overwhelming her. She struggled to hold back the burning tears in her eyes, bowed deeply, her voice trembling involuntarily: "Thank you for your kindness, Madam."

She quickly got up and walked out with a faster pace. Song Zhou glanced at Bo Jinzhou in the intensive care unit and then at her back, and had no choice but to follow.

Inside the hotel, Guo Jie stared blankly at the somewhat familiar woman in front of him, and tentatively asked, "Miss Lu?"

She used to have the surname Lu, but now her surname is Jiang, the Jiang from my mother's name.

Guo Jie took a step back. He was thin and dark-skinned, and his hands, which held the scalpel, were rough and covered with small scars.

He looked remorseful. "I'm sorry, it was my fault that your mother died."

"So why did my mother get organ failure?"

Guo Jie said with a pained expression, "Back then, Lu Wenchang put a drug in the bird's nest your mother drank every day. That kind of drug would damage her organs little by little. The dosage was not large, and the reaction was small. By the time it was discovered, her organs had already begun to be unable to withstand it."

“Originally, there was still hope, but Bo Qingshan asked me to tamper with her medicine and replace the original medicine, which made the lady's condition worse and incurable.”

Guo Jie was deeply tormented by his conscience. He had been traveling to Africa all these years to atone for his sins. He dared not think about what happened back then. Every time he saved someone, the guilt in his heart lessened a little.

But now that the past has been dug up again, Guo Jie has realized that he has been deceiving himself all along, and no matter how much he forgives, he cannot erase his past crimes.

Jiang Yimian's voice was tight and extremely dry, "Dr. Guo, if you really have a change of heart, come back to China with me and testify against Lu Wenchang."

Guo Jie: "Ms. Jiang, it's not that I'm unwilling, but that I have no evidence. When I left back then, all my belongings were taken away, so my accusations are futile without evidence."

Song Zhou: "Dr. Guo, we have the evidence. You just need to do as we say."

Jiang Yimian: "I have full knowledge of Lu Wenchang's crimes, so you don't need to worry about his retaliation."

“Song Zhou, Lu Wenchang has already made his move. We need to return to China as soon as possible. You stay here, and my men will escort us out.”

"Madam, are you really not going to wait for Mr. Bo to wake up?"

Jiang Yimian looked out the window. The hotel suite was located at the highest point, from where she could see the skyscrapers of the United States and the bright sunshine.

"Remember to let me know if he wakes up."

Jiang Yimian led Guo Jie out through the back door, while A Long and his men covered for them. On the way, they encountered Lu Wenchang's men. A Long had arranged for his men to split into two groups and trick them into chasing the other car.

Jiang Yimian only dared to relax when she boarded the plane and broke through the clouds.

In the intensive care unit, Bo Jinzhou's will to live was strong, and he had begun to show signs of waking up. The doctors were amazed that he could regain consciousness so quickly.

This meant they were out of danger. Song Zhou, who was waiting outside, didn't know how to explain things to Bo Jinzhou when he woke up.
