Chapter 18 [The Medicine is Prepared]

Chapter 18 [The Medicine is Prepared]

The nurse was bandaging him when the ward door opened.

Chu Yao's expression was complicated, and he moved his lips to say, "Mianmian wants to see you."

Bo Jinzhou's dark eyes widened in surprise for a moment before he stepped inside. The nurse, who hadn't finished bandaging him, tried to stop him, but Song Zhou raised his hand to stop her.

The ward had quieted down. Jiang Yimian leaned against Tan Yusu with her eyes closed, looking serene and peaceful.

She opened her eyes, which were filled with exhaustion and weakness. When she saw Bo Jinzhou, she blinked and reached out to him: "...Bo Shitou."

These three words held great significance for both of them, just as Bo Jinzhou would call Jiang Yimian "Princess Mianmian".

This is a unique way they address each other.

Having not heard it for many years, Bo Jinzhou felt a lump in his throat and his heart trembled.

Tan Yusu handed Jiang Yimian over to her and then left.

Jiang Yimian trembled and buried herself in his arms, clutching the collar of his shirt with both hands, her voice hoarse: "I'm sorry, I, I didn't mean to bite you."

Bo Jinzhou could sense her helplessness and fear. He closed his eyes briefly and said, "It's okay, I'm not in pain."

Bo Jinzhou wanted to ask about her situation, but he felt that he couldn't upset her any further.

Chu Yao and Tan Yusu left, and Bo Jinzhou couldn't find an answer, so he thought he could only try to appease her first.

The day Jiang Yimian was discharged from the hospital was a cloudy day.

It's very cold; it's already winter. It's been more than two months since Bo Jinzhou returned to China.

She's still too slow.

Bo Jinzhou bought her a down jacket, which wrapped her up completely. She also wore a woolen hat. Her cheeks were fair and rosy, and her eyes were clear. She was very well taken care of.

Bo Jinzhou still felt she was too thin and needed to eat more.

These days, their relationship has progressed rapidly. Jiang Yimian is no longer angry with him, ignores him, and even gets angry and argues with him when he nags.

Yes, this girl really likes to curse him now, calling him a dog.

Bo Jinzhou, however, was quite happy to be scolded by her.

It's okay if my sister has a bit of a temper; he's spoiled her for so many years, and he's willing to continue spoiling her.

In the car, Jiang Yimian took off her hat because she felt too hot, but Bo Jinzhou put it back on her.

"Wear it properly, don't get cold."

Jiang Yimian pointed to the car's air conditioning: "Why don't you take a look at how strong this heating is? It's so stuffy here, how can you catch a cold?"

Bo Jinzhou insisted, "Wear it properly, and don't take it off."

Jiang Yimian curled her lips, took a deep breath, ripped off her hat, and stuffed it under her buttocks while sitting.

He shook his head smugly: "I'll pick them, I'll pick them, what can you do about it?"

Seeing the two of them playfully fighting, Song Zhou raised the partition on his own initiative.

Bo Jinzhou was so angry he laughed.

He reached out and steadily picked her up, his hand reaching under her bottom. Jiang Yimian struggled, but ended up sitting on his hands.

Both of them were stunned. Jiang Yimian was lying in his arms at that moment. The two were very close, their breaths mingling, and both of them had a look of surprise on their faces.

Jiang Yimian blinked her beautiful eyes, then pushed him away in embarrassment, leaning against the car window with her head down and remaining silent.

Bo Jinzhou could still feel the soft touch on the back of his hand. He swallowed hard, his face looking extremely unnatural.

He licked his dry lips, looked at the girl, and suddenly smiled, "Now you know how to be shy? I thought you were getting too thick-skinned to know that."

Jiang Yimian got angry and punched him twice in the stomach, but her strength was like tickling him.

Bo Jinzhou couldn't stop laughing.

Their playful antics reached the clouds.

A person was standing at the entrance of the European-style carved iron gate.

It was Lu Yiwan. She was wearing a white coat and a hat. When she saw Bo Jinzhou's car arrive, she looked delighted.

Her hands were trembling from the cold. She rubbed her palms together and was about to step forward when the car window rolled down, revealing Jiang Yimian's face with slightly raised eyebrows.

Lu Yiwan's smile froze instantly; she almost lost control. "How could it be you!"

Jiang Yimian reached out and took Bo Jinzhou's arm. "Sister, don't misunderstand, brother-in-law just gave me a ride."

"He was worried about me being alone, so he brought me to stay at Cloud City. You won't mind, right, sister? After all, I'm your younger sister, and you won't hold it against your younger sister, will you?"

Lu Wenchang often said this to her.

What? She's your sister. What's wrong with giving her your work? We're sisters. Don't be so petty. There's no such thing as "yours" or "mine" between sisters.

This finally made her retaliate.

Bo Jinzhou's cold gaze fell upon her, and Lu Yiwan's face drained of color, leaving her with nowhere to vent her anger.

"What's up?"

Lu Yiwan bit her lower lip and said, "Ah Jin, I remembered some details from what I told you last time, so I came to find you."

"I didn't expect Mianmian to come too."

Bo Jinzhou's expression remained indifferent; he simply said, "Go to the study and wait for me."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yimian released her arms from his embrace. Lu Yiwan smiled, her eyes brimming with pride, and exclaimed joyfully, "Okay!"

Bo Jinzhou settled Jiang Yimian down and patted her head, saying, "Take a nap, I'll wake you up for dinner."

Jiang Yimian looked up at him: "Why did you let her in?"

Bo Jinzhou's eyes were deep, and he simply said, "Something's up."

Jiang Yimian didn't ask any more questions, but lowered her eyes and said indifferently, "Yes, I'm going to sleep."

Bo Jinzhou covered her with the blanket before leaving the room.

Jiang Yimian lay on her side, her beautiful eyes filled with deep emotion.

It seems the only option is to forcibly tie them together; that way, no matter how reluctant he is to part with Lu Yiwan, he will have to be bound to her by the same rope.

Jiang Yimian got a new phone, which Bo Jinzhou bought for her, and she sent a message to Chu Yao.

The medicine is ready.

Chu Yao: [Little Mianmian, you're really pushing yourself?]

[Otherwise, he's already brought Su Yuwan home; if they don't hurry up and announce their marriage soon, it'll be official.]

Chu Yao: [Okay, I'll try my best to find the most effective one, so he can't escape.]

Jiang Yimian deleted their conversation.

Half an hour later, the door to the study opened. Lu Yiwan, carrying her bag in both hands, looked obedient and gentle. "Ah Jin, I had a brain injury at the time, and I can't remember many things. Let me think about it some more, and I'll tell you when I remember."

Bo Jinzhou wore only a thin black turtleneck sweater, exuding an air of aloofness and coldness, and his attitude was indifferent: "Hmm."

During dinner, Jiang Yimian remained silent. When Bo Jinzhou put food on her plate, she simply left it there without eating.

Bo Jinzhou knew that she disliked Lu Yiwan, and he also knew that this girl was clear about her likes and dislikes. Since he was on her side, he shouldn't be with someone she disliked.

What's more, that was Lu Yiwan, who had taken her position and her father's away.

Jiang Yimian ate little. She put down her chopsticks, gently wiped her mouth, and her tone returned to its distant state. "Brother Jinzhou, I'm moving back to school tomorrow."

Bo Jinzhou: "Your injury hasn't fully healed. Who will take care of you when you go to school?"

Jiang Yimian: "Then I'll go to Chu Yao's house."

Bo Jinzhou's expression turned cold. "It's inconvenient for Chu Yao, a grown man, to go there."

Jiang Yimian frowned: "He and I are sisters, so it's very convenient."

"He is still a man after all."

Jiang Yimian slammed her hand on the table: "Then why aren't you a man? If you can do it, why can't he?"

Bo Jinzhou choked, his face darkening, and said firmly, "No means no."
