Chapter 99 Rival
Inside the Japanese restaurant, the man, who was usually impeccably dressed in a suit, took off his jacket and rolled up half of his sleeves, looking both approachable and sophisticated.
Jiang Yimian and Tan Yusu sat together, while Tan Sijin handed the menu to the two girls across from them.
"Ladies first."
Tan Yusu flipped open the menu without hesitation, "Their bluefin tuna is wild!"
"Brother, do you drink?"
Tan Sijin coughed lightly, "I have to go to the company later, so I won't drink anymore."
"Su Su, mind your manners, let Yi Mian go first."
Tan Yusu's eyes dimmed, and she murmured, "Oh."
Jiang Yimian knew that the Tan family had many rules, which Su Su had always disliked.
“Brother Sijin, we’re all acquaintances, so there’s no need for formalities. Susu and I are usually very casual, so let her order whatever she likes first.”
Tan Yusu's eyes lit up, and she said coquettishly, "That's right, brother, don't be so rigid. You're thirty-one years old, no wonder no girl is interested in you."
Tan Sijin: "Okay."
Tan Yusu was surprised that Tan Sijin agreed so easily.
While ordering food, Bo Jinzhou called Jiang Yimian.
Where is it?
Jiang Yimian glanced at Tan Sijin in front of her and said, "Let's eat at Hei Zuo Cuisine."
Bo Jinzhou had just finished work, got into his car, and loosened his tie. "Are you alone?"
"No, Su Su and Brother Si Jin are here too."
Upon hearing the name "Brother Si Jin," Bo Jinzhou visibly paused, his dark eyes freezing for a moment. "I haven't eaten either, let's eat together."
After hanging up the phone, we had almost finished ordering the food.
Jiang Yimian glanced at the menu and then ordered a plate of sizzling beef and fried fish cakes.
Tan Sijin seemed very busy; she answered several phone calls during this short break.
Tan Yusu whispered something bad about her brother: "My brother has been getting busier and busier since he turned thirty, mostly because my parents often arrange blind dates for him. You know, my family has strict rules, and my brother is an extremely filial and meticulous person. He never refuses what my parents say, so he works hard and can't even squeeze out any time. Naturally, my parents won't arrange blind dates for him."
Jiang Yimian didn't know much about Tan's eldest brother, but there seemed to be no rumors about him being in a relationship.
"Could Brother Sijin be a virgin?"
Tan Yusu nodded like a chicken pecking at rice, "I've never seen him with a woman. There are a lot of girls who pursue my brother, but he doesn't like any of them. I even suspect he might be gay?"
"But I had Yao Yao verify it, and it's not true."
Jiang Yimian couldn't help but chuckle, "Did your brother scold you?"
Tan Yusu shrugged and said, "He scolded me, he scolded me very fiercely, he was so old-fashioned, like my grandfather's generation."
Jiang Yimian finally couldn't help but laugh out loud. The sliding door was pushed open, and Jiang Yimian immediately stopped laughing.
After Tan Sijin finished her phone call, there was a tall man beside her, Bo Jinzhou.
The two met outside the door and came in together.
Bo Jinzhou's cold eyes swept over Tan Yusu, and she immediately got up and went to her brother's side.
Bo Jinzhou grasped Jiang Yimian's hand, "Are you full from the Japanese food?"
Jiang Yimian: "I'm full, and we even ordered a staple food."
This Japanese restaurant is expensive but the ingredients are good, so I can't be stingy when treating Sijin to a meal.
Bo Jinzhou looked up at Tan Sijin across from him. Unlike the other man's strictness and rigidity, Bo Jinzhou was cold and easygoing, and his words were quite interesting.
"Brother Sijin, it's been so many years. You're still the same, so old-fashioned."
Tan Sijin said expressionlessly, "You have changed a lot; you've matured."
Bo Jinzhou's lips curled up: "It's rare to see you, how about a drink?"
Tan Sijin: "Okay."
Tan Yusu? Who was it that just said they wouldn't drink?
She whispered a reminder: "Brother, you still have work to do later."
"It's alright, a little bit won't make a difference."
Tan Yusu felt that these words were not something his brother would say. He would never be perfunctory about his work, and he would even feel that drinking a drop of alcohol would be a waste of time.
Tan Yusu stroked her chin, looked at her brother, then at Bo Jinzhou, and then at Jiang Yimian.
Did she misunderstand?
Bo Jinzhou ordered sake again, and the two talked about work. Jiang Yimian and Tan Yusu ate their meal quietly.
Tan Yusu's phone lit up several times, but she had it on silent so she didn't notice that someone was sending her messages.
After downing two jugs of sake, both of them looked slightly tipsy.
Bo Jinzhou continued pouring wine: "Brother Sijin, you're thirty years old, aren't you?"
Tan Yusu chimed in, "He's thirty-one, thirty-two by the traditional Chinese age reckoning, almost a forty-year-old man."
Tan Sijin glanced at his younger sister. "Thirty-one years old, just turned thirty."
Bo Jinzhou raised an eyebrow: "Brother Si Jin, don't you have any plans to settle down yet?"
Tan Sijin's gaze swept over Jiang Yimian's face without leaving a trace. "No."
"Brother Sijin, although your work is important, don't forget to take care of your own important life event. Don't let the time come when my child and Mianmian's child are born and you're still not married."
These words made Tan Sijin choke on his drink. He quickly wiped his mouth with a napkin, his expression unchanged but his tone incredulous: "You're pregnant?"
Jiang Yimian quickly waved her hand: "No, no."
Bo Jinzhou held her hand and smiled at her: "Once you've recovered, we'll get married."
Jiang Yimian pulled her hand back. "It depends on how you do."
To the other side, their conversation appeared to be nothing more than playful banter between a married couple.
Tan Sijin pursed her lips, drank the last glass of wine, and said, "I have something to do, so I'll be leaving now."
"Brother Sijin, you haven't eaten much."
Bo Jinzhou picked up a tuna sushi for Jiang Yimian and said, "Brother Sijin is very busy, so let's not bother him. Let's get together again next time."
Tan Sijin didn't say a word, just nodded, got up, grabbed her coat, and left.
Tan Yusu looked up in surprise at her brother's back, and felt a sense of loneliness.
She looked away and realized that Huo Yun had sent her more than a dozen messages. Startled, she immediately stood up and said, "I'm leaving too, brother, wait for me."
With her brother around, she felt safe; Huo Yun wouldn't dare do anything to her.
After finishing her favorite food, Jiang Yimian took a sip of juice. "I'm full. Do you want more?"
Bo Jinzhou put down his cup. "Let's go home."
Before leaving, Bo Jinzhou tidied her clothes.
Jiang Yimian also noticed that she hadn't seen Assistant Song recently, and asked, "Where's Assistant Song?"
Bo Jinzhou opened his eyes and glanced at her lazily: "Why are you asking him?"
"Why don't you ask me what's wrong? I haven't eaten much, I've been drinking the whole time, don't you feel sorry for me?"
She didn't even bother to supervise her husband as he drank so much.
Jiang Yimian: "..."
"Didn't you ask for it yourself?"
Bo Jinzhou frowned, annoyed by her. "Does not drinking deter your love rival?"
"Do we really expect them to have a peaceful meal and chat all the time?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Jiang Yimian found him a bit baffling. "Brother Sijin bought me so many clothes today, that's why I treated him to dinner. Can you please not get the wrong idea about him?"
Bo Jinzhou narrowed his phoenix eyes upon hearing the key phrase: "He even buys you clothes?"
