Chapter 5 He took the bait
On the way to the Jiang residence, Bo Jinzhou was flustered and a sense of unease lingered between his brows and eyes.
He closed his eyes to rest, but his brow was furrowed.
He gripped the phone tighter and tighter, the veins and bones on the back of his hand clearly visible through his distinct knuckles.
It's a very beautiful hand shape, but at this moment it carries a hint of anxiety.
The car entered through the European-style carved iron gate.
Standing outside the warehouse, Lu Yiwan instructed the servants, "Don't feed her anymore. She ate a bit too much of the tofu and shrimp cakes yesterday, and she probably hasn't finished digesting them yet."
The maid bowed her head meekly and said, "Yes, Miss."
Lu Yiwan glanced at the warehouse door with disdain, then saw a Maybach driving in from not far away.
It was Bo Jinzhou's car.
Lu Yiwan's expression immediately turned panicked and terrified.
Lu Wenchang was not home; only Lu Yiwan and Su Hui were there.
Su Hui and Lu Yiwan came out to greet him. Bo Jinzhou got out of the car and knew something was wrong just by looking at Su Hui's guilty and panicked face.
His cold, phoenix-shaped eyes were filled with a heavy gloom. "Where is Jiang Yimian?"
Su Hui was immediately flustered, "She...she..."
Lu Yiwan: "Ah Jin, Mianmian has gone to school. She's a graduate student now, and she's very busy with her studies."
Bo Jinzhou's cold eyes lingered on Lu Yiwan's face for two seconds, and Lu Yiwan's mental defenses almost collapsed.
His voice was cold: "Is that so?"
"On the way here, I called Professor Wang to inquire, but she wasn't at the school at all. Lu Wenchang had arranged for her to take three days of sick leave."
Lu Yiwan's heart skipped a beat, and Su Hui was so frightened that she dared not breathe, clutching Lu Yiwan's clothes tightly as she hid.
Bo Jinzhou: "Where is she?"
Lu Yiwan burst into tears, "Ah Jin, don't be angry. It was Dad, Dad insisted on putting Mianmian in solitary confinement, and I couldn't persuade him..."
Bo Jinzhou didn't have time to play explanation games with her here, so the maid, not daring to hide anything, took him to the warehouse.
On the way to the warehouse, the closer Bo Jinzhou got, the more his heart ached.
His eyes turned red with anger.
Jiang Yimian, who had been pampered since childhood, was locked in a warehouse, and he couldn't bear to imagine such a scene.
The warehouse door opened shakily with the help of a servant.
That slender body lay there lifelessly in the dilapidated warehouse.
Bo Jinzhou felt as if someone had grabbed his heart, making it hard for him to breathe.
When I picked her up, I found she was frighteningly light.
Like a thin, paper-thin figure.
His strong arms tightened, pulling her little by little into his embrace, his palms clearly touching her bones, which felt so hard.

When Jiang Yimian woke up, there were two people lying on the side of her bed.
As soon as they saw that she was awake, the two of them started crying loudly.
"Mianmian, I only went on a business trip for a month, how come you got locked up by that scoundrel Lu Wenchang again? Do you know how scared you were?"
Su's best friend, Tan Yusu, was sobbing uncontrollably.
"Little Mianmian, I thought you weren't going to wake up! You scared me to death!"
"I'll definitely teach that scoundrel Lu Wenchang a lesson another day."
"Dog Thief" was a nickname that Tan Yusu and Chu Yao gave to Lu Wenchang.
Because he's a complete scoundrel.
A complete gigolo.
It can be said that everything Lu Wenchang has now is thanks to Jiang Hua.
The Jiang family home belongs to his maternal grandfather, the company belongs to his maternal grandfather, and even Lu Wenchang's current status was given to him by his maternal grandfather.
The two of them went on and on, making so much noise that Jiang Yimian's head ached.
She hissed, "Can't you wait until I'm dead to start mourning?"
Tan Yusu and Chu Yao covered her mouth together, "Pah, pah, pah, what do you mean by dying? Even if Bo Jinzhou dies, you won't die."
Chu Yao: "That's right, that's right."
Jiang Yimian: "Gibberish (takes hand away)."
Talking to Su, Chu Yao asked, "What?"
Jiang Yimian: "Gibberish, gibberish (take your hand away, I can't breathe)."
This time, the two of them finally understood.
Quickly pulling her hands away, Jiang Yimian gasped for breath and asked, "Who saved me?"
Chu Yao: "That beast Bo Jinzhou."
Where are the others?
Tan Yusu wiped away the tears in her eyes: "Outside, that scoundrel is here, and the two of them are talking."
Jiang Yimian pulled out the needle without even blinking. "Let's go, let's leave this place."
Tan Yusu felt pain just looking at her, and carefully protected her hand: "Miss, be gentle."
"You're not better yet, can you wait until you're better before you go?" Chu Yao said, but still helped her up.
Jiang Yimian: "We have to leave now."
Although the two did not know what her intentions were, they still took action.
Chu Yao carried her on his back, and Tan Yusu carried her shoes. The three of them sneaked out of the hospital through the back door.
In Chu Yao's bachelor apartment, he put her on the sofa. Chu Yao sat on the floor, panting heavily, "Ouch, I'm exhausted. Luckily you're thin, or I would have died."
Tan Yusu kicked him: "Are you even capable? A grown man gets tired so quickly."
Chu Yao: "Little Su Su! I'm your sister!"
Chu Yao got up to cook millet porridge. Jiang Yimian was often locked up, didn't eat well, and was prone to injury. After she came out, Chu Yao would cook some millet porridge for her to drink to help her recover her energy.
Tan Yusu didn't understand why they had to run away. "Mianmian, Bo Jinzhou is back. He still treats you as well as before. Why should we leave? We should take this opportunity to complain."
“If you cry, that scoundrel Lu Wenchang will be finished.”
"If crying were effective, would Bo Jinzhou have gone abroad?"
"Seven years have passed, and my relationship with him is no longer what it used to be. Besides, he likes Lu Yiwan, and he only takes care of me because of our childhood friendship and because of my mother."
“In his eyes, I am his sister.”
“When your sister gets into trouble, it’s only natural for the older brother to step in.”
Tan Yusu's lips curled down.
He couldn't help but curse, "Bo Jinzhou, you beast!"
When Chu Yao came out of the kitchen, he heard people cursing Bo Jinzhou. Although he didn't know why, he subconsciously added, "Bo Jinzhou is a fucking beast."
"..."
Jiang Yimian was too weak to speak. After the millet porridge was ready, she drank two bowls before continuing.
"Since he still treats me like a younger sister, then let's make good use of this connection."
“Only after I leave will he take the initiative to come to me.”
"The more I endured and felt aggrieved, the more he couldn't stand it."
She deliberately hung there to elicit his sympathy.
Tan Yusu and Chu Yao both gave a thumbs up.
"A brilliant plan!"
When Bo Jinzhou returned to the ward, Jiang Yimian was nowhere to be found.
Song Zhou hadn't expected Jiang Yimian to disappear, and cold sweat immediately broke out on his back. "President Bo, it's my fault. I'll go investigate right away."
Bo Jinzhou called Chu Yao, but she didn't answer. He then called Tan Yusu, but she didn't answer either.
He turned to call Jiang Yimian, but Lu Yiwan answered.
Upon hearing that it wasn't Jiang Yimian's voice, Bo Jinzhou immediately hung up.
Jiang Yimian's phone was confiscated yesterday, and she hasn't had a chance to retrieve it yet.
Tan Yusu and Chu Yao both saw the same phone number dialing from their phones.
They exchanged a glance. "It really is Bo Jinzhou. How did he know our number?"
Chu Yao: "That's right, this beast is getting more and more arrogant. Damn it, I'm so not convinced."
Jiang Yimian ate her fruit salad and said, "He's taken the bait."
