Chapter 114 Drunkenness

Shen Yue felt a sharp pain from the knock and smiled sheepishly.

He then said, "I didn't want to put my parents in a difficult position; they already have too many things to worry about."

Yin Xue couldn't help but sigh, "Yes, these are turbulent times, so let's not let them worry about us."

"Alright, let's not talk about these unpleasant things anymore. Today is a good day."

Shen Yue affectionately hugged Yin Xue's arm again and excitedly pulled her to the side.

“Your Highness, why are you trying to curry favor with Miss Shen? She is clearly avoiding you. You are of noble status and there is no need for you to lower yourself.”

Not far away, the servant behind the Third Prince couldn't help but speak up in his defense.

"General Shen has lost his official position and is now deeply feared by the Emperor. If the Emperor finds out about this, he may think you have ulterior motives."

"There are so many noble ladies in the capital, why waste your time on Miss Shen? Not to mention her reputation isn't very good, she's entangled with the Fifth Prince, it won't be good for you if word gets out."

"No matter what the reason, it won't do you any good."

Upon hearing this, the Third Prince's expression changed.

He then retorted, "Do you think my friendship with Miss Shen is because I'm after General Shen, who is behind her?"

The servant neither agreed nor disagreed, and said nothing more, but his meaning was quite clear.

The Third Prince scoffed, his tone growing colder.

"I'm not that despicable."

The servant was terrified upon hearing this and quickly lowered his head.

"I know I was wrong."

But then they heard the other person say, as if talking to themselves, "You've been by my side for so many years and you still think I only approached her because of General Shen, let alone her?"

The Third Prince couldn't help but sigh and shift his gaze away from Shen Yue.

He turned around and said, "Let's go back."

Then they disappeared into the night.

As night deepened, Shen Yunting and Qu Jingyun returned to the Qu residence.

Qu Jingyun thought everyone was already resting at this time, but she didn't expect to see everyone looking at them when she opened the door.

I was taken aback. What happened?

"Mother, you're finally back." Shen Yue was the first to step forward and affectionately took Qu Jingyun's arm.

He lowered his voice and asked, "Did you have fun going out with your father?"

Qu Jingyun then realized what was happening and, with amusement, reached out and gently tapped the tip of her nose.

He began, "It seems you did this on purpose."

Shen Yue smiled shyly, glanced at Yin Xue and the others not far away, and then said, "Father has prepared a feast especially for you. I heard it's all your favorite dishes."

As he spoke, he pulled Qu Jingyun into the main hall.

Looking at the table laden with food, Qu Jingyun felt a surge of warmth in her heart.

This is indeed her favorite.

Moreover, many of these are specialties from restaurants in Beijing, and it's not easy to gather them all together.

"Thank you." Qu Jingyun turned to look at Shen Yunting.

"This is all I can do for you." Shen Yunting slowly smiled and embraced her as they sat down.

This night was undoubtedly a festival of reunion for everyone.

Qu Jingyun was in high spirits and drank heartily until her face was flushed with intoxication.

She leaned her whole body on Shen Yunting's shoulder, mumbling incoherently.

Shen Yunting chuckled and silently helped her up.

"You two continue, I'll take her back to her room."

After everyone responded, they watched them leave.

Throughout the journey, Qu Jingyun's mouth never stopped, constantly recounting everything that had happened in the past.

Especially the jokes that happened when the two were young.

“I remember how fragile you looked when you were little. I could probably knock you down with one punch.”

"Also, you looked so stupid back then, all you did was laugh like an idiot all day, I don't even know what you were laughing about."

"I don't know how, but I fell in love with you, and we've come this far together. It hasn't been easy."

Inside the room, Qu Jingyun leaned on Shen Yunting's shoulder, her arms wrapped around his waist, a sweet smile on her lips.

Although they are a middle-aged couple, they seem to be just like when they first met.

A smile also appeared on Shen Yunting's face as he listened to Qu Jingyun recount the past, casually echoing her sentiments.

Suddenly, Qu Jingyun stopped talking, leaned in, and planted a kiss on his cheek.

Then he laughed and dodged away.

Shen Yunting was slightly taken aback, and when he looked over again, his eyes were filled with deep emotion.

He said meaningfully, "If you continue like this, I'm afraid I won't let you off the hook tonight."

"Now it's not that you won't let me go, it's that I won't let you go."

Qu Jingyun chuckled and suddenly made a move.

She threw herself into Shen Yunting's arms, and due to the momentum, the two of them fell directly onto the bed.

With a forceful movement, Qu Jingyun straddled Shen Yunting's body and leaned down to kiss the lips she had longed for.

She sucked haphazardly, as if she wanted to swallow the other person whole.

A hint of helplessness flashed quickly in Shen Yunting's eyes.

Even after being married for so long, Qu Jingyun still doesn't seem to have made much progress in kissing.

"Let my husband handle it." Shen Yunting gently dodged, and amidst Qu Jingyun's displeased expression, he pressed his lips against hers again.

They firmly grasped the initiative.

Qu Jingyun let out an uneasy moan, but quickly became immersed in everything that Shen Yunting had given her.

This night was destined to be a sleepless one.

When Qu Jingyun regained consciousness, it was already noon the next day.

She felt a headache coming on and muttered, "My head hurts so much."

But she was held tightly by the person next to her. Without reacting, she turned around and hugged the other person back, gently nuzzling them, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

Seeing how much she relied on him, Shen Yunting's face lit up with a smile.

But I couldn't help saying, "You drank too much last night, so I've warmed up some hangover soup for you."

After saying this, he struggled to get up, but Qu Jingyun held him even tighter.

"Stay with me a little longer," Qu Jingyun said coquettishly.

Shen Yunting looked increasingly helpless and could only patiently coax, "After you finish drinking the hangover soup, it's up to you."

In the end, all he could do was coax Qu Jingyun while going to the side to get the soup and feed it to her.

After drinking it, Qu Jingyun's complexion finally improved, and she lay back down on the bed.

She said with some regret, "I should have known better than to drink so much last night. I feel so awful."

“Consider last night a lesson. Don’t do it again. You’ve never been a good drinker,” Shen Yunting couldn’t help but admonish.

Qu Jingyun rolled her eyes at him in dissatisfaction, but did not say anything in rebuttal.

It wasn't until the afternoon that the two finally left the room.

Qu Jingyun suddenly felt that everyone was looking at her strangely, and a sense of regret crept into her heart.

I should have known better than to do it last night.

"Mother, I need to talk to you." Shen Yue rushed over excitedly, her eyes brimming with excitement.
