Chapter 19 Wanting to Make Amends (shuhaige.net)

Shen Cong lowered his head and remained silent for a long time.

Seeing this, Qu Jingyun's heart slowly grew cold.

She hardened her face and said, "No school is willing to take you in right now. I don't care if you're really unruly and don't want to study, or if it's for some other reason. The damage is done, and you have nowhere else to go except the Shenji Camp. Or should I wait for your father to come back and let him deal with it?"

Thinking of General Shen, who was strict except when he was gentle with Qu Jingyun, Shen Cong's body trembled involuntarily.

Sensing that her son was afraid of her husband, Qu Jingyun had an idea.

She lowered her head to adjust her cuffs and spoke slowly and deliberately: "Think about it carefully yourself. If your father were here, he wouldn't be so easy to talk to."

Shen Cong had no choice but to obediently nod.

"My son is willing to go to the Shenji Camp."

Seeing that he had changed his mind, Qu Jingyun smiled with satisfaction.

Then Qu Jingyun comforted him, saying, "Cong'er, don't worry. Those people in the Shenji Camp won't dare to say anything. They will only treat you with respect. Once the teachers see the changes in you, I will find you a good teacher."

Upon hearing this, Shen Cong's expression became complicated.

However, a hint of mockery quickly flashed in his eyes.

This is just a tactic by Qu Jingyun; he won't believe it.

Yin Xue walked in at that moment.

Yin Xue's face lit up with joy, and she smiled and nodded at Qu Jingyun.

"Mother, it's all done."

Qu Jingyun also smiled and then let out a long sigh of relief.

"It's good that it's done."

After saying that, she smiled at Shen Cong and said, "Cong'er, from now on you will never have to worry about being bullied again."

"Did Mother go to make plans for me?" Shen Cong asked uncertainly.

Qu Jingyun put on a stern face, "I'm not planning this for you, but for the General's Mansion. Your current unruly behavior is a disgrace to the General's Mansion."

Disappointment flashed in Shen Cong's eyes.

Sure enough, he shouldn't have had any expectations of Qu Jingyun.

Seeing that Qu Jingyun wasn't telling the truth, Yin Xue shook her head.

Then Yin Xue looked at Shen Cong.

"Second brother, Mother did all this for you."

“The Divine Machine Camp is the Emperor’s territory. If we just let you in, the Emperor will definitely be unhappy. That’s why I sent you to spread some rumors. If you are wronged in the Divine Machine Camp, it’s because the Emperor is deliberately retaliating. The Emperor is petty.”

After Yin Xue finished speaking, she looked helplessly at Qu Jingyun.

"Your mother is devoted to the General's Mansion, and you are also a member of the General's Mansion, so how could your mother forget you?"

Shen Cong snorted coldly.

He muttered a complaint under his breath, "Hasn't she forgotten about us long enough? She forgot about us before, and that's what caused us all this trouble..."

Thinking of the past, a sinister glint flashed in Shen Cong's eyes.

If Qu Jingyun hadn't neglected him, he and Yue'er wouldn't have suffered so much injustice at the General's Mansion.

Qu Jingyun felt as if countless needles were piercing her heart, causing her unbearable pain.

Her eyes reddened, and she apologized earnestly: "I'm sorry, I neglected you and made you suffer."

Hearing her apology, Shen Cong's eyes reddened even more.

After a long while, Shen Cong reluctantly shook his head.

"Thank you for your planning, Mother. I will definitely go to the Shenji Camp obediently and will not let you down."

“Cong’er…”

She wanted to say something more, but when she met Shen Cong's unwavering gaze, Qu Jingyun ultimately said nothing.

She smiled and waved to Shen Cong.

"Alright, you can go pack your things now."

Shen Cong gave Qu Jingyun a deep look, then turned and walked away without looking back.

Seeing that the person had left, Qu Jingyun also told Yin Xue to leave.

That night.

She was writing a letter to her husband when the door was suddenly pushed open.

Shen Song walked in.

He was still confined and unable to leave the mansion. He was disheveled and looked no different from the beggars outside.

Qu Jingyun frowned upon smelling the pungent odor of alcohol on him.

Why did you drink so much?

Shen Song hiccuped and sat on the ground, grinning foolishly.

Why did you send Chen Cong to the Shenji Camp?

Qu Jingyun became increasingly dissatisfied: "Where I send Cong'er is my business, it has little to do with you."

“But I am his brother and mother. You have paid very little attention to us all these years, but now that Cong’er and Yue’er are older, you want to start taking care of them. Don’t you think it’s too late?”

"Night?"

Looking at Shen Song, who was full of self-blame, Qu Jingyun let out a cold laugh.

Qu Jingyun then added sarcastically, "I'm so glad we found out early enough. If it had been any later, when my son was your age, he might have really been tricked and killed."

Shen Song stiffened for a moment, then laughed at himself.

He raised his head, his eyes bloodshot.

You could vaguely see tears glistening in their eyes.

He asked in a hoarse voice, "Mother, do you feel that neither of us are the sons you are satisfied with?"

Qu Jingyun was slightly taken aback, and then her eyes also reddened.

She squatted down in front of Shen Song.

He raised his hand, intending to stroke Shen Song's hair, but Shen Song avoided him without hesitation.

She didn't pull her hand back, and just stared at him.

“I am very satisfied with you, but besides being satisfied, I also hope that you can use your brains. Even if you can't be as smart as your father, you shouldn't be completely fooled by a traitor. You have no brains at all.”

Mentioning that person, Shen Song's eyes darkened.

"hehe……"

He laughed at himself again.

Suddenly, Shen Song fell silent.

After an unknown amount of time, Shen Song spoke again: "Mother, I am preparing to return to the military camp. Could you please tell the Emperor that I have realized my mistake and wish to make amends?"
