Chapter 67 Father and Son Kill Each Other

Qu Jingyun moved out of the General's Mansion. Everyone else was fine, but Chen Song secretly groaned.

For some reason, as soon as Qu Jingyun left, he was arranged to do training by Shen Yunting, so tired that he didn't even have time to drink water.

Within half a day, his legs were trembling uncontrollably.

Her pleading gaze fell on Shen Yunting, but was completely ignored by him.

He really couldn't understand why Shen Yunting would harbor resentment towards him from time to time.

By the time Shen Yunting finally let him go, it was almost dark.

He struggled and limped towards the courtyard.

But then he heard Shen Yunting's voice from behind him: "Are you blaming me?"

"I wouldn't dare," Chen Song replied in a muffled voice.

"It's not that I don't blame you, but that I don't dare to. It seems you really do blame me." Shen Yunting slowly curled his lips, but there was no smile in his eyes.

Upon hearing this, Chen Song's resentment reached its peak.

He said bluntly, "Shouldn't I resent you? As soon as you came back, my mother divorced you and moved out of the General's Mansion. Now it will be difficult for me to see my mother and my wife."

To Shen Song's utter surprise, Shen Yunting showed no remorse whatsoever after hearing his accusations.

Instead, she spoke with a self-righteous tone: "Isn't this all your fault? If it weren't for you, your mother wouldn't have divorced me."

"What does this have to do with me?" Chen Song laughed angrily.

"Isn't this all because of that incident where you made a scene about having a second wife?" Shen Yunting couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Shen Song was taken aback by what he was being told. What did this have to do with what had happened before?

"Because of this incident, your mother thinks that my father and I are no different, and misunderstands my relationship with Bai Shuangshuang, which is why she wants a divorce. I'm so wronged! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have to bear this unfounded accusation," Shen Yunting explained with a cold snort.

He knew in his heart that Qu Jingyun's desire for a divorce was definitely not as simple as it seemed on the surface.

But there always has to be a reason, and Chensong is the best reason.

Upon hearing this, Shen Song was completely stunned: "How is this possible? Father, do you really have no relationship with that Miss Bai?"

“Of course it doesn’t matter,” Shen Yunting said decisively.

But to his surprise, Shen Song in front of him looked completely disbelieving.

He simply reached out and slapped Shen Song hard on the back of the head.

"Do you think I'm that kind of person?"

Chen Song hesitated for a moment, then finally asked, "Aren't you one of them?"

These words immediately stung Shen Yunting's heart, and he said directly, "How about this, let's have a good training session today, and I need to let you know what kind of person your father really is."

Shen Yunting snorted coldly, clenched his fist, and swung it at Shen Song.

Shen Song fought back without hesitation, and the two quickly became entangled in a fight, neither giving an inch.

After a long while, the two of them collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.

"Your skills are a bit too flashy. You'll need to practice properly with me in the future. I don't dare to use my full strength against you, for fear of hurting you," Shen Yunting couldn't help but say, his tone full of disdain.

Upon hearing this, Chen Song's expression showed a hint of displeasure.

Suddenly remembering something, he asked, "Is Mother very skilled?"

"Of course. When I was young, your mother was on horseback, and she used a long spear to knock me off my horse, leaving me unable to move. She was so dashing." Shen Yunting's eyes were filled with a hint of nostalgia.

Finally, I couldn't help but sigh: "In the end, it's all my fault for letting her down."

“She longed for freedom the most, yet I kept her confined to the General’s Mansion for so many years, and made her endure the Emperor’s suspicion and deal with the people around her in the capital. I don’t know how much she suffered.”

Shen Yunting suddenly remembered the promise he had made to Qu Jingyun when they first got married.

He will let Qu Jingyun soar freely, and he will let her be at ease.

But who would have thought that not long after the marriage, the general's mansion would arouse the emperor's suspicion, and he would be sent to guard the border.

As a family member, Qu Jingyun naturally had to remain in the capital as a hostage.

Otherwise, the emperor might suspect what he was doing at the border.

Whenever he thought of this, Shen Yunting felt he owed Qu Jingyun a great deal.

Unexpectedly, a disdainful voice came from beside her: "So you think that Mother has become an ignorant woman in the inner quarters, no longer as heroic as you once saw her, and that's why you've fallen for someone else?"

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Shen Yunting slapped Shen Song hard on the back of the head.

After giving him a disdainful look, he said, "Whether in the past or now, the only person I love is your mother, and no one else."

"How many times do I have to say it again? Bai Shuangshuang is just the daughter of an old friend, and we have no other relationship."

Do you think everyone is like you?

These words undoubtedly pierced Chen Song's heart like a knife.

His face immediately turned pale.

But Shen Yunting was unwilling to let him off easily.

He continued, "If you hadn't started this, your mother wouldn't have thought I would find someone else, and she wouldn't have divorced me."

"Tell me about my divorce from your mother. Aren't you the biggest culprit behind it?"

"This..." Shen Song's words caught in her throat, and she couldn't utter a single word of rebuttal.

After all, he was indeed as Shen Yunting had said.

In the end, he could only manage a bitter smile and say, "I already know I was wrong, but now everyone is disappointed in me."

At this point, he couldn't help but seek help from Shen Yunting.

"Father, you and Mother are divorced. Have you thought about what you're going to do next?"

"Of course we'll wait for her to come back," Shen Yunting said matter-of-factly.

"There was just a misunderstanding between us. She can only be the master of this general's mansion. Whether in the past or now, I have only this one thought."

"She will definitely come back."

The certainty in Shen Yunting's tone ignited Shen Song's fighting spirit.

He clenched his fist and said, "I will also wait until the day Xue'er changes her mind."

Then he turned to look at Shen Yunting: "But Father, have you thought about how to make Mother happy?"

"Of course, we've known each other for over twenty years," Shen Yunting said proudly.

Yu Guang happened to catch Chen Song's expectant gaze, waved his hand and said, "Your situation is different from mine, you should handle it yourself."

Shen Song truly broke his vow, unlike him.

Shen Song understood the unspoken meaning in his words, and felt a pang of sadness in her heart.

But he didn't mince words: "Well, at least Xue'er and I haven't divorced yet, she's still my wife in name only."

"So what?" Shen Yunting said dismissively.

"She's not at home now, and she doesn't talk to you. It's no different from a divorce."
