Chapter 3: Shocking the Vampire Prince (1) Prince Aymeric...
At nine o'clock in the evening, the vampire prince Aymeric Utherian returned to the left wing of the castle where his bedroom was located.
His noble bloodline and background allowed him to not live with others, but to have a spacious luxury suite with a living room, bedroom, study and bathroom.
At the corner of the top-floor corridor where the luxury suite was located, Si Ling, dressed in a bright red wedding dress in the style of the Republic of China, waited quietly. When Aymeric stepped onto the last step of the stairs, she opened her lips and whispered a spell: "Hide the soul and disappear."
After the spell was finished, Si Ling disappeared without a trace. As a ghost, she was invisible to the living, but the Soul-Hidden Curse allowed her to conceal her presence even further for a short period of time, making her invisible even to ghosts.
Not far away, Aymeric walked to his door and raised his hand to unscrew the copper door handle with European retro patterns.
The moment the door opened, a cold breeze blew past Aymeric.
...As a vampire who naturally likes coldness, Aymeric is theoretically not unfamiliar with this feeling, but for some reason, he felt a creepy feeling aroused by this gust of wind.
This strange feeling made Aymeric pause for a moment, then he raised his hand to touch the wall inside the door and turned on the light in the living room.
Looking through the luxuriously decorated living room, Aymeric saw that a window opposite the door was open. The evening breeze blew in through the window, causing the thick curtains to bulge.
Aymeric frowned, strode to the window, closed it tightly and fastened the latch.
A few steps to the left of the window is a wall with a dressing mirror standing in the corner.
When Aymeric turned around, a woman's shadow flashed past the window. He was startled and subconsciously looked at the dressing mirror again, but there was nothing in the mirror.
Only his own reflection stared at him silently.
Is it an illusion?
Aymeric frowned and walked towards the bedroom.
The door between the bedroom and the living room was not closed. Si Ling, who was standing next to the mirror waiting for his next move, saw him walking towards the bedroom and floated in before him.
As an elegant vampire prince, Aymeric is not only handsome, but also has good hygiene habits. The first thing he does when he returns to the dormitory every night is to take a shower.
Si Ling stood by the door and watched him take out a bath towel and bathrobe from the room. He immediately floated to the bathroom at the other end of the bedroom, floated a meter away, and then floated back, slamming the door connecting the bedroom and the living room shut.
"Bang!" The door suddenly opened and Aymeric was startled.
He suddenly sat up, turned to look at the door, then looked at the closed window in the room. At the same time, the living room window that he had just closed with his own hands appeared in his mind.
"Who?" He looked around warily, his golden-brown brows slightly wrinkled, and asked in a low voice in German, "Who is playing tricks?"
Then, hesitantly, he gave a name: "Elizabeth?"
The room was silent and no one responded.
This was not Elizabeth's style of pranks, and Aymeric couldn't imagine who else would come to haunt his place, so he once again thought it was an illusion and went into the bathroom with his clothes.
He closed the door and unbuttoned the second button of his shirt. The light in the bathroom suddenly flickered, accompanied by a faint electric sound, alternating between light and dark at intervals of two seconds.
Americus stopped what he was doing, his eyes fixed on the bathroom mirror in front of him.
——We are all ghosts, and there is nothing new in the scary routines. Aymeric waited quietly for the other person's face to suddenly appear in front of him. It was either a ghost face or a creature like a werewolf, nothing new.
Aymeric rolled up his sleeves expressionlessly, ready to punch the other person in the face.
"Sizzle, sizzle—" The bathroom light continued to flicker, and even the vampire's eyes felt a little uncomfortable.
After flashing a few more times, the warm yellow light suddenly turned into a dim green light, but the flashing frequency remained the same.
One light, one dark, changing every two seconds.
Aymeric's breathing slowed down and he stared at the mirror more intently. Suddenly, as the green light came on, he saw half a figure quietly appearing behind the shower curtain.
The shadow was wearing a bright red dress with intricate embroidery, and she stood there very quietly, except that her hair was draped in front of her face, completely obscuring her features.
...There was no blood, no hideousness, and for some unknown reason, Aymeric felt a chill running down his spine.
He froze in front of the mirror, and it seemed like a long time before he remembered what he was going to do. Then he suddenly turned around and raised his fist high.
"Bang!" The fist hit the empty shower curtain, and there was nothing behind it.
"Crackle——" the light came on and the warm yellow color returned to its original state.
Aymeric was stunned for a moment, and suddenly felt a chilling feeling coming from behind him. He turned around abruptly and saw a red ghost with disheveled hair passing by the edge of the bathroom mirror near the door.
"Who!" Aymeric became furious and opened the bathroom door and chased out, but the next second, he froze as if struck by lightning.
——What appeared before him was still the bathroom.
He was standing inside the bathroom door. He turned his head in a daze and saw a familiar mirror.
Looking outside the door, there was a bedroom.
"Sizzle——" the lights flashed again.
"Sizzle——" From yellow to green.
"Sizzle, sizzle——" One light and one dark, changing every two seconds.
Aymeric was a little overwhelmed. He took a deep breath and opened the door again to go out - but he was back in the bathroom.
"Sizzle, sizzle—" The frequency of the lights flashing did not change at all.
"Who! Get out!!!" Aimeric yelled.
His eyes swept across the bathroom mirror, and he suddenly saw the other person again - the ghost thing in bright red also had a red cloth on its head, and was holding his shoulders in a weird, almost curled-up posture. He could almost feel the cold wind blowing from her against his ear!
"Ah--!" Aimeric screamed and punched his ear, but hit the air again.
The light in the bathroom suddenly stabilized, settling into that dim green.
Aymeric's eyes widened, and his breathing became short and tight without him noticing.
In the same "unconscious" moment... he no longer expected any bloody and horrific scene to appear before him. He was immersed in a strange fear that he had never experienced before. This fear was not exciting, but it was everywhere.
"Splash..." It was the sound of running water. Aimeric turned around and saw that the faucet in front of the mirror was turned on.
Water continuously flows into the washbasin and then into the drain. The drain valve is completely open, but for some reason, the water is quickly blocked and gradually forms a puddle in the sink.
...Americk was not the curious and naughty protagonist in horror movies. He knew something was wrong and had no intention of reaching out to find out what was blocking the sewer.
He took two steps back cautiously, resting his calves on the edge of the bathtub, staring calmly at the sink.
He forced himself to calm down and thought with gritted teeth: I'm not curious, let's see what you can do!
Si Ling leaned against the washbasin with his arms folded. Seeing that the situation was not going as he expected, he curled his lips in dissatisfaction: He had to force her to do something big.
She reached into the sleeve of her wedding dress and pinched out a stack of paper figures, without counting how many there were. She chanted a spell and the paper figures were blown into the air and disappeared without a trace.
"Wow--" Aymeric heard another sound of water coming from behind him. He turned around and saw that the shower in the bathtub was also turned on.
Clean water flows evenly from the shower head and falls into the bathtub.
"Remember me..." A faint female voice came from his ears, lingering softly and thinly.
"I missed you," she said again.
Aymeric whipped his head around, his gaze inadvertently glancing at the bathroom mirror again—unexpectedly, he saw the woman's figure reflected upright in the mirror. The red cloth on her head was gone, but her long black hair hung in front of her. He still couldn't see her face, only a section of her forearm in each hand. The forearm was pale, clearly not that of a living person.
"Who are you!" The knowledge of ghosts supported Americ's last bit of strength, and he shouted at the mirror.
Before he finished speaking, the woman in the mirror disappeared.
That faint voice rang in his ears again, and with a hint of resentment, it asked him softly, "Why...did you forget me?"
"Who is it! Get out!" Americ waved his fists randomly, roared at the air, and opened the bathroom door again.
He was ready to step into the bathroom again, but this time he left it smoothly.
He looked in astonishment at the Chinese-style courtyard in front of him under the dim sky. The courtyard was bustling with people, but there was no one in sight. Big red silk cloths were hung everywhere. A gate not far away led to a deeper courtyard. On the gate was pasted a word he didn't recognize: "囍".
Aymeric realized he had fallen into a very advanced illusion, but before he could react, a voice echoed from the horizon: "Bow to Heaven and Earth!"
Two men appeared beside him at some point. They were very strong and forced Aymeric into the gate with the word "囍" on it without any explanation. He was forced to kneel on the ground and kowtowed while struggling.
"Bow twice - to my parents!" It was still the ethereal opera voice. Aimeric was pinched by the neck and kowtowed again.
"Husband and wife—worship each other—"
Aymeric had no idea what the other party was saying, but after that, he was lifted up by the two men. This gave him the opportunity to unleash his vampire power and suddenly break free from the shackles.
At the same moment, the two people disappeared.
Aymeric looked up and saw two dolls sitting on both sides of the eight-immortal table.
"Ah!" He screamed and stumbled back, his feet slipping and he fell to the ground.
It wasn't his fault, because the two dolls looked too strange. They were a man and a woman, both made of wood, but they wore Chinese silk clothes. Their faces were painted pale and cracked, and black paint was used to mark two pairs of almond-shaped eyes and noses without whites, and then a bright red mouth was drawn.
Aymeric, who came from a European vampire family, had never seen anything this horrifying.
He couldn't help but tremble all over, looked to both sides cautiously, and then saw...
Except for the place where he is, there are puppets everywhere!
They were dressed in different clothes and had different postures: some were bowing, some were pondering, and some seemed to be watching the fun.
But no matter what posture they were in, each of them was smiling, with their mouths raised in the same arc and almond-shaped eyes that made it impossible to tell the emotion.
Aymeric was horrified!
"Ahhhhhh——" He didn't even bother to get up from the ground. He screamed and crawled towards the door.
However, the puppets seemed to have heard his cry. As if a button had been pressed, they maintained their original various postures and turned their heads towards him in unison. The twisting of the wooden structure emitted a subtle friction sound in the air.
Dark almond-shaped eyes, mouths with the same curved smile... they looked at him together.
"Ah--!!!" His Royal Highness Prince Aymeric screamed so miserably that the werewolves downstairs thought there was another werewolf of the same kind in the school.
