Chapter 72: Serial Killing Gang Suffers Serial Killings (7) “No…
"..." Aurelio was extremely embarrassed. Si Ling cast a spell to easily open the metal cage door. Aurelio immediately crawled out. Since the cage was nearly one meter off the ground, he fell to the ground when he came out, looking a little embarrassed.
He hurriedly got up, subconsciously brushing off the dust on his suit, and impatiently said to Si Ling: "Let's get out of here!"
"Wait a moment." Si Ling calmly looked down at the photo album again, but kindly raised his hand and tapped Aurelio's chest, using a trick to hide his figure.
"What are you doing..." Aurelio looked at her in confusion - she was pulling out cards from the album one by one.
"This room is probably where Isaac begins to torture his victims," Si Ling explained as he pulled out a card. "It's just 'mental torture'; he doesn't physically torture them here, but he rolls the dice to determine how they die. I guess he has a bit of obsessive-compulsive disorder and a collecting habit, so he won't perform the same method twice. If the number he rolled is the same as before, he'll roll it again."
“You mean…” Aurelio picked up a few cards and looked at them, “He wants to collect all the methods on these cards?”
Si Ling: "I guess so."
"That's a lot!" Aurelio exclaimed.
Si Ling had only pulled out less than half of the card, which was already two or three centimeters thick.
Si Ling nodded: "He should have designed 99 in total, and has implemented more than a dozen of them so far."
"How perverted..." Aurelio muttered, trembling inwardly. "Sometimes I don't understand why humans are afraid of horror movies. How can we be as scary as them? Honestly, each of us vampires can live for at least a few hundred years, but none of us could come up with such a perverted method of killing."
Si Ling smiled, noncommittal. Aurelio casually flipped through the cards in his hand and noticed the one that read "How could you score so poorly?" He frowned. "What kind of death is this? Are they trying to kill themselves by working themselves to death?"
"You're quite perverted." Si Ling said.
"Huh..." Aurelio scratched his head awkwardly and asked her, "What are you doing with these?"
"Hmm..." Si Ling glanced at him, "Let me show you a different kind of Chinese horror."
As she spoke, she took out the last two cards, knocked the whole stack of cards together, put them away, turned around and floated out of the room.
Aurelio spread his hands. "How can this be considered Chinese horror? Isaac is obviously a homosexual!"
"Oh no...!!!" Si Ling heard Aurelio shouting anxiously through the door, "I can't get out!!!"
Si Ling, who had already floated away for a distance, chuckled softly, moved his fingers slightly, and the door panel suddenly bounced inward, almost hitting Aurelio.
In the living room on the first floor, four spirits held their breath and looked at Hyun Chi and Isaac in horror as they stared into each other's eyes.
In reality, Isaac couldn't see Xuan Chi, and those instruments couldn't detect the spirit's presence. But at that moment, he tilted his head slightly, squinting his eyes and staring intently at the darkness before him, muttering to himself, "I feel it... I feel it! You're right here, right?"
"Great power...supernatural power! What on earth are you!"
They really wanted to appear in front of Isaac and tell him: We are here to take you away.
But considering Si Ling's instructions, they all held back, staring at Isaac in silence, all of them feeling that the scene was truly bizarre. However, this also had its advantages: Isaac was so captivated by the mysterious power before him that he couldn't pay attention to anything else, so they didn't need to bother trying to attract his attention.
After a moment, Bai Ma, who was facing the stairs, moved his gaze. The others looked over and saw Si Ling and Aurelio coming up from the basement.
Noticing that Isaac was not far away, Si Ling subconsciously blocked Aurelio and took half a step back.
Although the sleight of hand concealed Aurelio's figure, Aurelio's "entity" still existed, which meant that Isaac's device could still find him.
Si Ling whispered, "Stay away from him and go upstairs to find Wei Lai as quickly as possible. They're hiding in the cracks between the wall panels and won't be easily spotted by sonar. I'll send a message to Wei Lai to ask him to come and meet you."
Aurelio also saw Isaac and was so nervous that he didn't dare to make a sound. After hearing Si Ling's words, he nodded vigorously.
Xuan Chi also heard what Si Ling said. He took two steps back, reached out to hold the painting on the wall behind him, and pushed it up. The painting broke free from the nails and fell to the ground.
"You really exist!" Isaac was overjoyed. He subconsciously took a step forward and stared at the scene in front of him with bated breath.
Aurelio took the opportunity to run towards the stairs leading to the second floor and disappeared without a trace.
"Aurelio's gone up." Si Ling sent a message to Weilai and put away the Tongming Plate. Her companions waited for her to make their next move, but she said, "You two stay with him for a while. I'll take a look around."
After she finished speaking, she jumped across the floor and entered the second floor.
Unlike the first floor which is entirely occupied by the living room and kitchen, half of the second floor of the villa was converted into a laboratory by Isaac, and the other half includes various household uses including bedrooms, study, bathroom, and cloakroom. Isaac probably spends more than half of his time at home on this floor.
Si Ling had originally wanted to look for some more photo albums, but after searching around, she found nothing. However, in the most inconspicuous floor-standing cabinet in the study, she did find something she was looking for—a plastic box on the bottom shelf. The box looked quite old, and a thin layer of dust still covered it. The fact that it had accumulated so much dust in a cabinet with a door meant that no one had touched it for a long time.
She opened the box, which contained only a few simple items, including two photos.
It's somewhat ironic that Isaac is an incel, yet both of these photos show him with women. The first one was clearly taken on his birthday, as a colorful banner reading "Happy Birthday, Issac" hangs on the light green, diamond-patterned wallpaper behind the photo. Isaac in the photo looks about a year or two old, sitting on a light brown fabric sofa, embraced by a young woman. Si Ling guessed it was his mother.
The second photo was still of the two of them, but the woman was a gray-haired old lady, at least in her 50s or 60s. Isaac looked about 4 or 5 at this time, wearing a comfortable red T-shirt and black trousers. The old lady was sitting on the carpet with him, playing with blocks.
This should be the grandma who left him the porcelain vase - but from that sentence alone, it is impossible to tell whether it is his grandmother or his maternal grandmother.
Apart from that, the other pages in the box were all seemingly insignificant things - such as kindergarten crayon drawings, which were just pastoral scenery with childish brushstrokes; such as elementary school test papers, although they got an A+, it should be an unimportant quiz based on the topic. Moreover, as a gifted science geek, Isaac should have no difficulty in getting an A+.
These things must have had extraordinary meaning to Isaac.
Si Ling carefully looked through each page, memorizing the details he thought were important, then closed the box and put it back in its place, and began to chant and cast a spell on the spot.
The ghosts who were concentrating on "teasing" Isaac in the living room on the first floor suddenly saw wisps of Yin energy seeping through the ceiling and beginning to seep into the second floor. Li Qi was horrified: "What's going on!"
Xuan Chi raised his eyes and took a quick look, and quickly made a judgment: "It's Si Ling's aura, she is setting up a barrier."
"...What plan?" Li Qi was confused. "Did we miss something?!"
"Just wait for now." Ah Zhui said calmly, "Si Ling must have made a plan."
About half an hour later, a magical barrier took shape before the ghosts. The villa's high-tech decor and furnishings vanished within the barrier, replaced by a more down-to-earth home decor. The pale green diamond-patterned wallpaper and light brown fabric sofas created a simple yet welcoming atmosphere.
Si Ling slowly landed between the group of people. Xuan Chi noticed that she was holding a stack of cards in her hand. Before he could ask what they were, she raised her hand expressionlessly and snapped her fingers loudly.
In an instant, an illusion that was originally only visible to ghosts invaded Isaac's field of vision. The pitch-black living room suddenly lit up, and the sudden change in the picture startled him.
Then, with another snap of his fingers, the illusion made it impossible for Isaac to see the instruments on his body.
His set of highly intelligent instruments became a double-edged sword at this time - originally the "high intelligence" effectively reduced the difficulty of operation, and he only needed to control the operation of the instruments through thinking, but now, the instruments had disappeared in his eyes, and the consciousness of controlling the instruments through thinking naturally no longer existed.
"What, what's going on..." Isaac was a little panicked, "Where are my things? Where are my things!"
He looked down in panic at the equipment on his body that had disappeared, and then from his perspective, his body suddenly changed and became that of a child of seven or eight years old.
"What's going on...what's going on..." Isaac muttered to himself. He quickly thought of the "unknown creatures" around him and wanted to ask them what they had done, but before he could say anything, a man walked into the living room.
From the perspective of a seven or eight-year-old boy, the adult man was tall and strong, but his slightly plump face looked amiable.
Ah Zhui was very surprised when he saw this familiar face: "Aurelio?!"
"It's a paper man. I just borrowed his appearance." Si Ling said.
"Is it used to scare people?" Ah Zhui was still surprised.
Although she knew that in Chinese horror, things that were scary enough not to kill people could be completely non-scary, but Aurelio... well, if he didn't make those discriminatory remarks, he was actually a "cute" guy most of the time.
After much deliberation, Ah Zhui tactfully expressed his disagreement: "He looks... too friendly, doesn't he? And Isaac just caught him, what if he's already seen what he looks like?"
Before he finished speaking, Ah Zhui heard Isaac ask in surprise, "Who are you?"
This addressed her second concern quite nicely.
As for the first question -
"It's okay. In this copy, he is more suitable to have a friendly face." Si Ling said.
