Chapter 1 Time Travel

Chapter 1 Time Travel

"Well, I'm just an ordinary, unknown, no-name celebrity."

The person who spoke was named Lu Yanhe.

He was sitting opposite a woman who was wearing a fitted suit, was beautiful, and had a powerful presence.

The person in front of you is Chen Ziyan, a well-known top agent in the industry.

Lu Yanhe, who had just turned eighteen, should have been nervous and even flattered to have the opportunity to meet this top agent.

But he didn't.

If the original owner of this body were sitting here, he would indeed feel flattered.

However, the Lu Yanhe sitting here now is no longer the same Lu Yanhe.

He traveled from another time.

The time travel happened on the original owner's eighteenth birthday.

He calmly looked directly into Chen Ziyan's eyes and spoke.

"But I know that if you are willing to mentor me and give me a year, you can make me famous and have me make money for you."

A hint of interest appeared in Chen Ziyan's calm eyes.

The boy in front of me is just eighteen years old and handsome, although there are quite a few handsome faces in the entertainment industry.

What attracted Chen Ziyan was his temperament.

She had seen too many young stars like Lu Yanhe, who were either arrogant, naive, or pretending to be calm.

However, the relaxed and calm feeling that Lu Yanhe exuded seemed genuine.

Chen Ziyan recalled the information she had previously read about Lu Yanhe.

The person in front of me seems to be completely different from what is shown in the information.

Lu Yanhe knew that whether Chen Ziyan was willing to accept him would determine whether his acting career could continue.

However, he wasn't really nervous.

If you really can't be a celebrity, there are other ways to survive.

It all started three months ago, on the night of Lu Yanhe's eighteenth birthday.

-

The first thing Lu Yanhe saw when he opened his eyes in this world was water, pitch-black water.

He suddenly woke up with a start, and a mouthful of water almost choked him to death.

Fortunately, he could swim, so he quickly steadied himself and floated to the surface.

After finally swimming to shore, it felt as if a thousand needles were piercing his brain. A sharp pain suddenly spread along his central nervous system, as if his head was about to explode.

The original owner's memories suddenly attacked him.

All the memories of the past eighteen years flooded in.

Lu Yanhe thought he had almost died.

As the intense pain gradually subsided and he returned to calm, Lu Yanhe had gained eighteen years of memories, memories belonging to another person.

Through this memory, he learned about the original owner's life over the past eighteen years.

An orphan who grew up in the countryside, she was taken out by her uncle at the age of fourteen after completing nine years of compulsory education. She helped out at her uncle's restaurant. At the age of fifteen, she was spotted by a talent scout and selected to participate in a talent show. She made it into a group and gained some popularity, but the agency she signed with was not supportive. For three years, she had basically no other work besides group activities.

On her eighteenth birthday, she was pushed into the river and died silently. Then, she was possessed by Lu Yanhe, who had the same name in another world.

Lu Yanhe did not accidentally fall into the river and drown; he was pushed in.

Who wants to kill him?

Lu Yanhe thought about it carefully, but couldn't figure it out.

The main problem is that the original owner was too ordinary. Apart from having a face that could debut as a star, he was not outstanding in anything. He signed with a management company for three years, and calling him an 18th-tier celebrity would be an understatement.

A timid and hesitant person, lacking confidence and afraid to speak, habitually hiding out of people's sight due to inferiority complex in any place.

Lu Yanhe felt that this kind of person was really not suited for the entertainment industry.

However, Lu Yanhe's opinion was not because he knew much about the entertainment industry.

His understanding of the entertainment industry comes entirely from snippets he's seen online, and he only has the impression that "being a celebrity is very lucrative."

However, judging from the original owner's perspective, not every celebrity makes a lot of money. The original owner worked hard in the entertainment industry for three years, but had zero savings.

Lu Yanhe spent an hour by the river to sort out his thoughts.

After all, he had read about time travel many times in novels, but this was the first time it had happened to him personally.

After spending an hour figuring out the whole story from beginning to end, Lu Yanhe was completely bewildered.

Lu Yanhe was stunned because he realized that he shouldn't think about anything else right now; his biggest problem was that he couldn't support himself! In this situation, how could anyone want to kill him?

He debuted as a member of a group three years ago and signed with a company. At that time, he signed an eight-year individual contract with the company, while the group's time was three years.

For the past three years, Lu Yanhe has basically had no job of his own, and all his work has been done by the group. He has been doing odd jobs to make a living. Now, the three years are up and the group is about to disband, which means that he will lose his last source of income.

Lu Yanhe was completely dumbfounded.

His first instinct was to reach for his phone, call the police, and check how much money he had left. The original owner's memories clearly told him that he had no assets or savings; all his money was in his e-wallet and payment apps.

But the phone screen was black and I couldn't turn it on.

I don't know if it was damaged by water or if it lost power.

Lu Yanhe sighed.

If he hadn't clearly remembered from the original owner's memories that he fell into the river because someone pushed him from behind, he would have truly believed that the original owner had jumped in himself.

-

One o'clock in the morning.

Lu Yanhe walked wearily down the road, the dim streetlights casting a long shadow over him.

Occasionally a car would drive past him at high speed.

His phone was out of battery, he couldn't hail a ride, and he had no way to contact anyone. Now he could only walk slowly forward by himself, wondering how long it would take to reach the dormitory that the agency had arranged for him.

I was tired, sleepy, cold, and hungry.

On his very first day after transmigrating, Lu Yanhe experienced firsthand what it meant to be starving and freezing.

He experienced poverty and destitution he had never known before, and in those few short hours, he experienced it all, both physically and mentally.

"Beep beep—"

Suddenly, a horn sounded.

Lu Yanhe turned his head to look.

A red Mercedes slowed down and eventually stopped next to him.

The beam of light from the headlights was blinding, and Lu Yanhe slightly turned his head to avoid the glare.

The car window rolled down, revealing a beautiful face.

She looked Lu Yanhe up and down with interest and asked, "Get in the car?"

The woman's gaze startled him, but he quickly understood her intention from her suggestive, up-and-down look.

Although they were starving and freezing, they hadn't reached the point where they had to sell themselves.

Lu Yanhe silently withdrew his gaze, ignored him, and walked straight ahead.

"That handsome guy is quite aloof!" the woman chuckled, then restarted the car and continued driving forward without lingering.

Lu Yanhe suddenly regretted it.

"Hey, wait!" he shouted, taking two steps after them.

The red Mercedes-Benz immediately stopped again.

Lu Yanhe ran forward.

The woman rolled down the car window again, her smile widening, her voice sexy yet languid, "I knew it, you men would refuse me. Get in."

After saying that, she raised an eyebrow, forming a charming curve.

Lu Yanhe swallowed awkwardly, forcing a smile. "No, you misunderstood. I wanted to ask if you could lend me your phone so I can call the police? I've been pushed into the river!"

The woman looked at her with a "what the heck?" expression. "Call the police? What do you mean?"

Lu Yanhe immediately shook his head: "No, I was just pushed into the river. Someone is trying to harm me. Really, you have to believe me!"

"Are you serious?"

"Very serious."

Lu Yanhe looked at her with a hint of expectation.

The woman rolled up the car window, floored the accelerator, and sped away, leaving Lu Yanhe utterly ashamed.

Clearly, they didn't believe him at all.
