Chapter 126 Parking Lot

Chapter 126 Parking Lot

Having finally gotten through the traffic jam, Lu Yanhe and his two companions never expected that they would run into Qiu Ling again at a random restaurant. Not only did they run into Qiu Ling, but they also saw her having dinner with her blind date.

When the three of them went in, Qiu Ling was talking to this person, chatting and laughing.

Seeing this, Lu Yanhe and Yan Liang decided not to greet the person.

"Don't bother Officer Qiu," Yan Liang said.

Li Zhibai looked displeased and kept glancing at Officer Qiu after sitting down.

Lu Yanhe knew that Li Zhibai had a rather ambiguous crush on Officer Qiu.

“Hey, stop staring at Officer Qiu. No matter how much you stare, she won’t notice you,” Lu Yanhe advised. “Why don’t you just seriously like her? You just won’t admit it.”

"Damn it, Lu Yanhe, I don't like him at all, don't talk nonsense." Li Zhibai immediately denied it.

"..." Lu Yanhe and Yan Liang exchanged a glance, both conveying a meaning that was left unsaid.

Sure enough, during the meal, Li Zhibai would glance at Officer Qiu every now and then.

Lu Yanhe and Yan Liang let him do as he pleased, as long as they didn't bother him, they could watch for as long as they wanted.

Yan Liang said, "I think we really have a special connection with Officer Qiu; we always seem to run into each other."

“That’s true, look how many times we’ve run into each other this month,” Lu Yanhe said.

After dinner, the three of them prepared to leave.

Li Zhibai glanced at Qiu Ling, frowned, and said, "What's there to talk about that's been going on for so long?"

Lu Yanhe said, "It's obvious they're on a blind date, so of course they have a lot to talk about."

"How can you be so sure it's a blind date?" Li Zhi asked.

“Judging from the way the two of them are acting, they can’t possibly be colleagues or relatives,” Lu Yanhe said. “Officer Qiu even put on makeup and wore high heels today. The last time I saw her wearing high heels was when she went on a blind date.”

The reasons are sound and irrefutable.

Li Zhi wanted to refute it, but he couldn't find a way to do so.

"Let's go, I still need to go back to study," Lu Yanhe said to Li Zhibai.

Li Zhibai was still reluctant to leave.

Lu Yanhe: "You're reluctant to leave?"

"Stop talking nonsense." Li Zhibai immediately lifted his buttocks.

I paid the bill and got ready to leave.

"Huh? What a coincidence, we've run into each other again?" Qiu Ling's voice rang out from behind them.

Lu Yanhe turned around and asked in surprise, "Officer Qiu, you've finished eating too?"

"Huh?" Qiu Ling quickly realized, "You saw me a while ago?"

"Um."

"He didn't even come to say hello to me," Qiu Ling said.

Lu Yanhe looked at the seat where Qiu Ling had just been sitting, but the man was no longer there; he didn't know where he had gone.

"Weren't you on a blind date? We didn't want to disturb you," Lu Yanhe explained.

"Hey, my boss introduced me to someone. It wasn't a blind date, just a casual meeting," Qiu Ling said. "He went to the restroom, so I just came to pay the bill."

"You're paying?" Li Zhibai looked surprised. "Why?"

Qiu Ling said, "I just don't want others to invite me, what else could it be?"

"ha?"

Qiu Ling said, "Stop laughing, move aside, let me pay the bill first."

Li Zhibai stepped aside, completely bewildered. Suddenly remembering something, he immediately told the waiter, "Put their table on my tab and settle the bill together."

Qiu Ling immediately glared at him: "What are you talking about?"

She turned to the people and said, "Each person pays their own share."

The waiter looked embarrassed, unsure of whose advice to take, and looked at them with a troubled expression.

Qiu Ling said without hesitation, "Alright, stop looking at him. I'm in charge. Let's split things up."

Qiu Ling was a police officer after all, and as soon as she finished speaking, the waiter immediately did as she was told.

"You guys go first, I'm about to leave too," Qiu Ling said to them.

“You’ve been drinking, you shouldn’t be driving, right?” Li Zhibai asked.

Qiu Ling: "I'll call a designated driver later."

“That’s not safe,” Li Zhibai said immediately. “Why don’t we wait for you in the parking lot? You live nearby anyway, and we’ll take you home.”

Qiu Ling: "My car is still here, you don't need to worry about it."

Li Zhibai wanted to say something more.

Qiu Ling clicked her tongue and said, "Alright, stop dawdling and hurry up and go. I knew I shouldn't have greeted you like this."

She pushed the three children a step away.

Lu Yanhe pulled Li Zhibai along and said, "Alright, let's go."

Li Zhibai looked back every few steps, appearing very worried.

"Is she drunk?" Li Zhibai asked worriedly.

Lu Yanhe: "That's enough."

Yan Liang also said, "She's a police officer, are you still worried about her safety?"

Li Zhibai said, "Who knows whether the man she went on a blind date with today is good or bad?"

"People introduced by her boss are generally trustworthy."

"Who knows?" Li Zhibai muttered to Lu Yanhe and Yan Liang the whole way.

As a result, Li Zhibai and the two of them waited in the car.

"What if their car isn't parked here?" Yan Liang was speechless and said, "Then you've just been waiting for nothing."

“Wait ten minutes. If they don’t come down, then forget it,” Li Zhibai said. “I have to keep an eye on Officer Qiu. If she takes a chance and drives home drunk, then I have to stop her.”

Lu Yanhe: "...You don't need to make so many excuses for yourself."

No matter what Yan Liang and Lu Yanhe said, Li Zhi was determined to wait here, and there was nothing they could do.

Just as the ten minutes were about to expire, Qiu Lingzhen appeared from the elevator.

She was all alone.

Upon seeing this, Li Zhibai's tense expression immediately relaxed, and he happily curled up the corners of his mouth.

"Are you relieved now?" Lu Yanhe said. "Thinking about it, it makes sense. Officer Qiu paid the bill himself because he didn't want to take advantage of her, which means he didn't want to continue with that person."

"Hindsight is 20/20." Li Zhibai glanced at Lu Yanhe with disdain. "Why didn't you say that earlier?"

"Would you believe me if I told you just now?" Lu Yanhe retorted.

Li Zhibai gave an awkward smile.

"Is that Officer Qiu's car?" Yan Liang suddenly asked, pointing in the direction Qiu Ling had walked, his tone a little off.

Lu Yanhe had taken several ridesharing trips and recognized Qiu Ling's car, confirming it at a glance.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

Yan Liang said, "Look behind that car, isn't there someone crouching on the left side, with half a shoe sticking out?"

Yan Liang's tone was full of doubt.

Upon hearing this, Lu Yanhe and Li Zhibai immediately went to look.

Qiu Ling's car was parked diagonally opposite theirs.

The parking lot was dimly lit. Lu Yanhe sat in the back, and Li Zhibai sat in the driver's seat on the left. It was difficult for either of them to see the spot Yan Liang had just mentioned.

Lu Yanhe didn't dare to take the risk and got out of the car immediately.

"Officer Qiu!" Lu Yanhe called out and waved.

Qiu Ling was looking down at her phone when she heard this and looked up.
