Notes on the finishing touches

Notes on the finishing touches

I came across a video where a blogger named "Cang Yiwei" mentioned "Choose the Day to Become Famous" (I just noticed this; I've recommended this book several times before, thank you!). He mentioned that the ending of "Choose the Day to Become Famous" felt a bit awkward and long (paraphrased). It just so happens that I've seen many people have also raised similar issues recently.

After careful consideration, I realized that my previous statement that the book was in its final stages might have created a misunderstanding, leading people to believe that the book was only a few dozen chapters away from ending. However, the fact that it hasn't ended yet has somewhat disappointed everyone's expectations.

My original intention was to say that for a novel of nearly four million words, this story is nearing its end, as can be seen from the recent developments. However, this doesn't mean it will end in a few dozen chapters, nor is it that I'm intentionally making it longer or more tedious.

This book has maintained this style from the very beginning, with a lot of dialogue making up the main body. It does have some lengthy parts, but perhaps this is just a style I personally prefer. It doesn't feel right if it's not written this way. After all, this is the overall tone of the novel.

Learning from past mistakes, we will no longer announce the end of a novel before its conclusion. This does create an expectation that the story is about to end, but in reality, the story continues to unfold new subplots.

As for the story constantly branching out into subplots, my original intention was that I thought at some point, this subplot would present a scenario that hadn't appeared before—a "possible situation in the entertainment industry"—and I incorporated it as a way to enrich this vast entertainment universe. However, it will absolutely not extend beyond three chapters; I've been striving to ensure that it doesn't interfere with my main storyline.

As you can see from my new book, "The Demon-Slaying Sword," after writing "I Became the Scandalous Female Lead Overnight" and "Choose a Day to Become Famous," I've run out of ideas for the entertainment genre. So, I have this idea of "making the world-building of this story as rich and substantial as possible."

Whether my next book is a long novel like "The Demon-Slaying Sword" or a long novel with a different theme, I most likely won't be writing about entertainment. I need to change my approach.

This is why I had to start writing "The Demon-Slaying Sword" at this time. I had to maintain the writing feel of "Choose the Day to Become Famous" by writing a completely different story. Otherwise, I would feel a deep sense of fatigue every time I typed.

I wonder if anyone else has ever experienced the same thing as me: every word I typed felt bland and uninteresting. This is a situation that has occurred to me after writing a story for a long time.

In conclusion, thank you all for recommending this book to others. Thank you also for following along and continuing to give me feedback. I want to emphasize that this story is indeed nearing its end, but it won't be finished in just a few dozen chapters. There are still so many plot holes to fill, and I can't just abandon it prematurely.

If you can, please take a look at the story "The Demon-Slaying Sword" for me. It's already 80,000 words long. Please give me your opinions, good or bad, so I can decide whether to write it as a long novel or a short story of a few hundred thousand words after "Choose a Day to Become Famous" is finished.

Please post positive reviews in the comments section on the homepage, and negative reviews in the chapter review section (of course, if you think the book is so bad that it's not worth anyone clicking in to read, then disregard what I said).

Thanks, good night, see you tomorrow!
