Chapter 315: Memories of Ten Years Ago (14)

Under the skillful hands of the makeup artist, Xue Li'er's hands, neck and feet were all covered with beautiful paintings.

Looking at herself in the mirror, wearing pure white traditional clothing and a matching scarf, Xue Lier felt like she was not about to join a sect, but a beautiful bride about to attend her own wedding.

"When does the ceremony start?" Xue Li'er asked impatiently. As soon as the ceremony was over, she could talk to Rashid about returning home.

"Wait a moment, miss," the maid said. "The master will join you in the ceremony."

Xue Li'er nodded and sat by the dressing table, quietly waiting for Rashid's arrival.

After a while, the door of the room opened and Rashid walked in wearing traditional Arab men's clothing and a white headscarf.

Rashid was obviously dressed up today.

The white robe he was wearing looked very expensive. He would probably only wear it on important occasions.

Xue Lier was a little flattered that this Middle Eastern man cared so much about this ceremony.

I wonder what he would have done if he knew that he would never come back after the ceremony.

"You look so beautiful today." Rashid stared at Xue Li'er for a long time and sighed.

"Thank you." Xue Li'er complimented, "You look handsome today too."

Rashid was a little overwhelmed by Xue Lier's sudden praise. You know, women in the Middle East are very well-behaved and would not say such compliments to men.

For Rashid, Xue Li'er undoubtedly brought him a sense of freshness he had never experienced before.

She possessed the unique beauty and mystery of an oriental woman, as well as the confidence and composure of a modern woman, qualities not found in Arab women in the Middle East, who were deeply influenced by religious doctrines.

Rashid was very happy to have met Xue Lier. At this age, she could give him a different life experience.

"Let's go. My Oriental beauty."

Rashid covered Xuelier's veil, hiding her beautiful face.

Then he put her hand on his arm and went downstairs together.

Xue Li'er was asked to stay in her room these days, so she had no chance to go downstairs to take a look.

Only now did she realize that the garden had been newly decorated by Rashid, with traditional Middle Eastern decorations everywhere, and a large group of Middle Eastern people sitting on both sides.

Rashid led Xue Lier slowly forward. On a temporary platform in the garden, an old man wearing traditional Middle Eastern clothing was waiting for them, holding a thick scripture.

Xue Lier thought that person should be an elder or a wise man.

As long as he read the scriptures to Xue Lier and explained the important parts of them, and Xue Lier swore to convert to Islam and serve only Allah in the future, then the ceremony should be considered complete.

As Xue Lier expected, when she and Rashid stood before the old man, he opened the book in his hand.

After a lengthy recitation in Rabbi, the old man finally took his eyes off the book and met Rashid's eyes.

The old man asked Rashid a question in Arabic.

Xue Li'er didn't understand Arabic, but after the old man finished speaking, Rashid immediately responded in Arabic.

Xue Li'er thought he was probably asking whether Rashid would sponsor her to join the religion.

After asking Rashid, the old man turned his gaze to Xue Lier's face.

After looking at Xue Li'er for a few seconds, the old man asked Xue Li'er a question in Arabic.

"Say I do." Seeing that Xue Li'er didn't say anything, Rashid reminded her in a low voice in English.

Xue Lier thought that this was probably a question asking her whether she was willing to serve Allah from now on, so she answered in English.

"I do."
