Chapter 317: Memories of Ten Years Ago (16)

Xue Li'er was alone in the room, bored and waiting. Today she wanted to see Rashid first.

Because as long as she could see him, she could let him arrange her return home.

But the maid had just said that the celebration would last for three days. I wonder if Rashid would have to wait until three days before seeing her.

"Will Rashid come today?" Xue Lier asked the maid.

The maid said respectfully, "Yes. The master will come over tonight."

Xue Lier felt relieved when she heard the maid say that. As long as Rashid came over in the evening, she would make him set a specific time to send her back home.

After waiting in the room for more than two hours, the maid began to serve dinner for Xue Lier.

Xue Li'er ate a few bites but had no appetite. She was always thinking about when Rad would come.

Bang bang bang!

Suddenly there was a sound like firecrackers in the garden.

"What's that sound?" Xue Li'er wanted to go to the balcony to see what was going on, but was stopped by the maid.

"You can't go and see," the maid said. "It's dangerous."

"Danger?" Xue Li'er didn't understand what danger there could be in this house that was heavily guarded by militants.

"That's the sound of gunfire," the maid said. "If you look now, you might get hurt."

Gunshots? Xue Lier didn't understand why gunshots suddenly broke out during the celebration.

"Did something happen?" Xue Li'er asked the maid, "Why did you shoot?"

"This is part of the celebration," the maid said. "The louder and more gunshots there are, the more blessings there are for you."

So that's how it is. Xue Lier thought these Middle Eastern people were really rich, celebrating with guns instead of firecrackers.

As the maid finished her words, gunshots were heard again in the garden.

Xue Lier listened carefully. This was not the sound of a small pistol. It was either a submachine gun or a rifle.

She suddenly remembered the guns carried by the militants guarding the house. It must have been those guns that made the noise.

The gunfire lasted for more than half an hour before it died down.

Xue Li'er's eardrums were almost broken by the gunshots.

Looking up, I saw the maids, who seemed quite accustomed to the sound of gunfire. Even with the loud sound, they stood there calmly.

After dinner, Xue Li'er waited in her room until after ten o'clock. When the singing and dancing outside gradually died down, Rashid, a little drunk, entered Xue Li'er's room.

"You're here!" Xue Li'er greeted Rashid with great joy. As long as she could coax him well, he would definitely send her back home.

Rashid stared at Xue Li'er with drunken eyes for a while, then waved his hand to let the maids go away first.

Xue Lier was not worried about being alone in a room with Rashid. He believed in Allah and knew that as long as they were not married, he would never touch her.

Seeing that Rashid was a little drunk, Xue Li'er helped him up and let him sit on a chair.

Rashid was fascinated by the mysterious oriental beauty before him. He pulled Xue Lier over and made her sit in his arms.

"My oriental beauty," Rashid said, "from today on, you will be my last wife. I promise to give you the best things in the world."

Rashid's words surprised Xue Li'er. What did he mean? What did he mean by "from today on, she's his wife"?

"What do you mean?" Xue Li'er's tone became very cold, without a trace of warmth.

"We are already married." Rashid looked into Xue Li'er's eyes steadily. "Today, you have become my wife."
