Xue Lier had ignored Rashid for three days. No matter what Rashid said, she kept him out.
"Ma'am, is this okay?"
Salma was confused. Didn't she want Harman to be with her? Why was she unhappy when Rasheed fulfilled her wish?
Xue Li'er was fixing her hair in front of the mirror with a nonchalant look on her face.
This is the only way to make Rashid feel that he was forcing Haman onto him.

"How many times has this happened?" Xue Li'er asked. "How many times has Rashid knocked on the door?"
"This is the fifth time today."

"Harman is my cousin. He was with you once. Why is it another man?"
"Isn't it?" Xue Li'er said angrily, "What I want is my husband's company, not his cousin."
"Harman only takes your place when I'm busy," Rashid said. "I'm worried you'd be bored at home alone, and I don't have that much time to spend with you. That's why I asked Harman to go out with you to relax. You know, not all of my women get this treatment."

Xue Li'er knew she had to quit while she was ahead. Once Rashid's patience wore out, the consequences might not be what she wanted.
"Then when will you have time to accompany me?" Xue Li'er asked angrily.
"In a little while." Rashid took Xue Lier's hand and gently brought it to his lips and kissed it. "I have some very important things to do. Once I'm done with this, I'll rest for a while and spend some time with you."
Xue Li'er turned around and put her arms around Rashid's belly.
"You must keep your word. I have made up my mind to follow you for the rest of my life. Please don't let me down."
"Don't worry." Rashid kissed Xue Li'er's face. "My oriental beauty. I will love you forever."
"Can I ask Harman to go out with me tomorrow?" Xue Li'er asked, "I haven't been out for several days."
"Of course!" Rashid said, "Let Haman and Rama go with you."
Xue Li'er's heart moved. This Rama was Hameh's sister. Rashid had always sent her to follow him. It seemed that he had to find a way to get rid of her.
"Good. Rama is very sensible. I like her very much."
"By the way, you just said you had something important to do during this period of time." Xue Li'er asked, "What is it?"
"Brotherhood matters," Rashid said. "I might have to leave Amman for a while."
"Where are you going?"
"Go to Europe."
"Europe?" Xue Li'er feigned surprise. "Why go to Europe? How long will it take?"

"next month."
Leaving next month? Xue Lier thought. She had to get rid of Rama before then. Only then could she feel at ease during Rashid's absence.
"Can I go with you?" Xue Li'er asked deliberately.
"No!" Rashid refused. "I'm not going there for fun. This journey is dangerous."
"Then I'll wait for you to come back."
