Chapter 605 Hints (2/2)

"Brother-in-law, busy?" Li Xiuyuan asked with a smile.

"Yeah, this is the busiest time of the year. I'm at my hometown these days, and your sister is in the county with her child. I was thinking of inviting you over for a meal after this busy period is over..."

There was some noise on Zhang Zhihao's end of the phone, so Li Xiuyuan didn't beat around the bush and asked directly, "Brother-in-law, business is pretty good this year, right?"

"Well, business is still the same, about the same as in previous years."

"Are all the certificates and licenses for selling agricultural supplies at home still valid?" Li Xiuyuan continued to ask.

“No,” Zhang Zhihao said.

"Okay, brother-in-law, you go ahead with your work. I'll hang up now and we'll talk later," Li Xiuyuan said with a smile. He felt that this was enough of a reminder, and no one could find fault with it.

Zhang Zhihao, who had just hung up the phone, didn't think much of it and continued with his own work.

It wasn't until I got home for dinner after a busy day that I remembered this matter and mentioned it to my father, Zhang Yucai.

Zhang Yucai sensed something was wrong as soon as he heard this. He put down his chopsticks and said with a serious expression, "That's not right."

"What's wrong?" Zhang Zhihao had worked all day and was now eagerly shoveling food into his mouth.

"Think about it, why would Xiuyuan ask about the documents when he was perfectly fine? Is he trying to tell us something he can't say outright?" Zhang Yucai sensed something was amiss.

"What's the big deal? I guess it was just a casual question during a chat. What's so inconvenient about saying it outright?" Zhang Zhihao said nonchalantly.

Zhang Yucai shook his head: "I suspect something's happened."

“If anything happens, it has nothing to do with us. Our family has all the necessary documents,” Zhang Zhihao said.

Zhang Yucai nodded. That's true. His family has been doing this business for many years and has never had any problems.

All the necessary documents and certificates were complete.

Two days flew by, and before we knew it, it was the weekend.

On Saturday morning, Li Xiuyuan got up at 6:30, about half an hour earlier than usual. After getting up, Li Xiuyuan went to the playground of the town's middle school. Su Ziying was already waiting for Li Xiuyuan, but it was noticeable that Su Ziying's attire was somewhat different from usual.

When Su Ziying usually goes for a run in the morning, she is usually dressed in sportswear. Today, she is wearing a beige jacket, jeans, and white flat shoes, looking incredibly youthful.

Li Xiuyuan's eyes crinkled with a smile as he watched.

"Teacher Su."

"Mayor Li."

"How about we take a walk to warm up and then go to the county town for breakfast? It's the weekend, let's relax a bit," Li Xiuyuan said to Su Ziying. They had arranged to go to the county town for breakfast together today.

That's why I got up so early. I originally planned to exercise first and then drive over, but Su Ziying's outfit was clearly not suitable for running. Li Xiuyuan couldn't just go for a run himself and leave Su Ziying waiting and watching.
