Chapter 6, "Say You Love Me".

Chapter 6, "Say You Love Me".

An anonymous user posted: "Gossip, gossip, huge gossip! It's known that a certain prominent figure at our school, a former national athlete and retired player, stopped my friend at the entrance of a classroom in the School of Humanities last Friday afternoon, asking for a girl's phone number. According to my friend, the big shot said the girl is his girlfriend."

1L: "Decoding, decoding, there's really no need for this anonymous post."

2L: "Does anyone know who the girl is?"

3L: "I know who the author is. By the way, this guy is really generous, providing a phone number for a 100,000 transfer."

4L replied to 3L: "Holy crap! Really? 100,000?!?"

5L replied to 4L: "Seriously, I saw it too, and shared it immediately. Also, I agree with the author of the decoding article."

6L: "If you don't decode it, treat it as phishing."

7L replied to 6L: "Hahaha, I won't say anything more. The girl is majoring in Chinese Language and Literature. She's super pretty, but seems very introverted and doesn't like to talk."

Reply from 8L to 7L: "Our major? Who's who?"

7L replied to 8L: "Private message"

9L replied to 7L: "What kind of words are unacceptable to me as a SVIP member?"

10L: "The girl's name is Song Wan. She posted a profile picture of herself in a previous 'looking for a friend' post. She's really pretty, but she's also really slow to warm up to people."

3L replied to 10L: "Borrowing this thread, I've already messaged the author. XAS, I know you're spying, remember to treat me!"

8L replied to 3L: "+1, me too."

Reply from 12L to 10L: "Is this the photo.jpg file?"

13L replied to 12L: "Yes"

14L: "Holy crap! It's my roommate!"

15L replied to 12L: "/thumbs up"

16L: "Wow, they look so good together/drooling"

16L replied to 14L: "/Eating melon/Eating melon"

...

Song Wan had a Classical Chinese class on Monday morning. She arrived at the classroom early, opened her chat app, and found that her roommate had sent her several messages at 1 a.m. last night.

She has a habit of turning off Do Not Disturb before going to bed, so Song Wan thought something was wrong and clicked to check—

【Little Wanwan, is that you?】

You really talked to Chen Jianjin?!

Song Wan: [We're not related]

After sending the message, Song Wan went to find the original post.

High-rise buildings have already been built up below.

Her information is flying everywhere, and some people have even dug up her place of origin.

Song Wan was not calm; her fingers were trembling. She privately messaged the author of the article, hoping he would remove it.

Perhaps it was too early, but the message disappeared without a trace, and no one responded.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

The sudden female voice interrupted her chaotic thoughts. Song Wan looked up at the two of them and shook her head.

The girl looked unfamiliar, and Song Wan wasn't sure if they were classmates, since she didn't know everyone in her class very well.

After the two girls sat down, they began to whisper to each other, occasionally glancing in Song Wan's direction.

Before long, the classroom gradually filled up with people, and an elderly professor came in to fiddle with the projection equipment.

Song Wan wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt like a lot of people were looking at her, and their curious and inquisitive gazes made her feel very uncomfortable.

"Miss, you must be Song Wan?"

The girl sitting closest suddenly asked Song Wan a question.

She was confused, but still nodded politely.

The girl became even more interested and pulled two photos out of her bag, pushing them in front of Song Wan. "Hey, miss, we're fans of Chen Jianjin. We really like him. Could you please help us get two autographs?"

Another girl peeked out and added, "Mine is 'to meow,' the 'meow' sound like a kitten."

"I'm sorry, we... are not related."

As soon as she finished speaking, Song Wan noticed that the girl's expression had turned awkward, and her gaze shifted to a spot behind her.

Song Wan turned her head to look over.

Chen Jianjin appeared out of nowhere, one hand in his pocket and the other holding a cup of milk tea. He stood there lazily with a smile on his lips, his eyes, half-hidden by his wispy hair, were not pleasant to look at.

He placed the items next to Song Wan, tilted his head, and explained to the two girls, "My girlfriend is still angry, please forgive me. Do you want an autograph?"

The two girls nodded repeatedly and handed over the photos.

Chen Jianjin kept his long fingers pointing upwards, "Pen."

The girl rummaged through her bag again, but couldn't find what she wanted. Song Wan noticed the girl's embarrassment and handed her the pen in her hand.

"Thanks."

She took the items and handed them to Chen Jianjin.

Chen Jianjin glanced sideways at Song Wan before bowing his head to sign.

The light pink rabbit pen twirled nimbly between his long, slender, and fair fingers, but he had no intention of returning it to its rightful owner.

Song Wan only brought a pen. Her gaze fell on his right hand as he twirled the pen, then returned to her, as if she wanted to say something but hesitated.

On the podium, the professor had already begun his lecture.

Song Wan was always very serious. She held back for a while and then reached out to Chen Jianjin, "My pen."

"I thought you were going to never talk to me again." Chen Jianjin smiled with satisfaction, and put the cute rabbit pen back into her palm.

Song Wan tried to pull her hand away, but Chen Jianjin grabbed it and gave it a hard squeeze.

Finally, he smiled and relaxed.

Song Wan felt annoyed, glared at him, and rubbed her palms on her clothes several times.

Chen Jianjin lowered his eyes, his smile freezing.

He recalled Saturday night. Song Wan was a stubborn person in some ways. She didn't trust him and refused to take a shower in his master bedroom no matter what. He deliberately provoked her by saying that he would have no objection if she was willing to sleep with his touch on her.

As expected, Song Wan softened upon hearing this.

But Chen Jianjin's mood wasn't much better, because he discovered that Song Wan had thrown away the bra he had touched.

Just like now, she hates his touch and wants to cut ties with him in every way.

Chen Jianjin's eyes darkened for a moment, and out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the milk tea that she had also neglected, so he inserted a straw.

When the food was fed to Song Wan, she was taking notes and turned her head away in annoyance.

"Take a bite, and then you can focus on your studies."

Song Wan didn't move.

Chen Jianjin lowered his voice and threatened, "Baby, you know I don't care about the occasion when I go crazy."

Song Wan pursed her lips, glanced at the professor speaking eloquently on the podium, then at the milk tea in front of her, and lowered her eyes in compromise.

She put the straw in her mouth, and as he instructed, took a sip. "Is this okay?"

Chen Jianjin smiled with satisfaction, and under Song Wan's gaze, bit the spot she had just used.

Song Wan frowned, her fingers tightening slightly as she gripped the pen, forcing herself to look away and read.

To the two girls who were completely unaware of what was going on, this scene seemed to them as close friends, even sharing a cup of milk tea.

Chen Jianjin didn't like things that were too sweet, so he took two sips and put the drink down.

He didn't sleep well last night, so he rested his head on his arm and leaned on the desk to look at Song Wan.

She was dressed casually today, in a loose hooded sweatshirt and wide-leg pants. She was wearing the dress he bought her when she left home this morning. She got up at five o'clock just to go back to the dormitory to change clothes.

Her hair was loosely gathered at the back of her head and tied into a bun.

She was clean from head to toe, except for the jade bracelet on her wrist that he had forced her to wear and that she couldn't take off; she had no other accessories.

Song Wan's hands are beautiful, with fair and slender fingers, pink nail beds, and neatly trimmed nails.

Chen Jianjin really wanted to touch her, but he was afraid she would get angry, so he could only suppress his thoughts and continue to look at her.

Song Wan was taking notes very seriously. Her cherry lips were slightly pursed, and small dimples appeared at the corners of her lips. Her face was small, her nose was delicate and straight, her forehead was full, her eyebrows were shaped like curved willow branches, and her eyes were round and bright. She had the best proportions of the three courts and five eyes in the eyes of art students.

Song Wan lowered her head, and a stray hair fell and stuck to the corner of her mouth.

Chen Jianjin reached out his hand, but before his fingertips could touch her, Song Wan pushed it away.

Almost instinctively, she couldn't control her strength. As she swung away Chen Jianjin's arm, she also knocked over the unfinished cup of milk tea in front of him.

The contents spilled all over him.

The two unfamiliar girls next to him gasped. Song Wan looked at him helplessly, feeling flustered and a little guilty.

Chen Jianjin, on the other hand, silently straightened the spilled milk tea, and then held out his hand to Song Wan, "Do you have any tissues?"

Song Wan took out a tissue and gave it to him.

Chen Jianjin wore a black windbreaker and cargo pants today, both of which were coincidentally made of waterproof material.

The temperature in November wasn't high, so he took off his coat, leaving him in a plain white T-shirt.

Having milk tea on your hands makes you feel nauseous with that sticky feeling.

Song Wan didn't bring wet wipes, and Chen Jianjin was debating whether to sneak out to wash his hands when the girl next to Song Wan quietly raised her hand, "Um, we brought wet wipes."

Chen Jianjin raised an eyebrow and looked at Song Wan slowly, "Baby, help me draw two cards."

Song Wan didn't like him calling her so affectionately, especially since there were strangers around, so she simply pretended not to hear it.

"precious--"

Chen Jianjin raised his voice.

Song Wan simply pulled out two wet tissues and stuffed them into his hand.

Chen Jianjin smiled, in a good mood.

Song Wan glanced at him discreetly.

Neuropathy.

She's so happy even after someone splashed milk tea on her.

Song Wan withdrew her gaze and focused on listening to the lecture.

The two girls next to her were whispering and covering their mouths. Song Wan couldn't hear what they were saying, but she knew that the topic was definitely about her and Chen Jianjin.

Because the way they were stealing glances at each other was really obvious.

After two classes, Song Wan's morning was over.

10 o'clock is a very awkward time of day.

It was too early for lunch, so Song Wan planned to go back to her dormitory, but Chen Jianjin stopped her.

Don't you have anything to do yourself?

Song Wan is a very gentle person, but these past few days, she has been wanting to lose her temper and curse at people every day, and she has become unlike herself.

“We’re boyfriend and girlfriend.” Chen Jianjin took her hand.

These four words acted as a fuse, igniting Song Wan's long-suppressed emotions.

She forcefully shook off his hand. "Chen Jianjin, you orchestrated this whole thing on the school forum, didn't you? You're happy to see my privacy exposed and to see me branded with your name, aren't you? You know we have no relationship whatsoever, but now everyone thinks I'm your girlfriend, and even my angry explanations are seen as me being a little playful tantrum."

"What did I do wrong to deserve meeting you?!"

"Chen Jianjin, what sins have I committed to be entangled with you...?"

At that moment, Song Wan's shrill accusations and the insults he had heard since childhood overlapped in his mind, leaving Chen Jianjin's expression blank and momentarily dazed.

Chen Jianjin didn't come to his senses until the girl turned and walked a few meters away.

Without thinking, he stepped forward and grabbed her wrist.

"Chen Jianjin, what are you doing?!"

Song Wan struggled, but Chen Jianjin acted as if he didn't hear her and simply pulled her to the parking lot.

With a loud bang as the door slammed shut, Song Wan was once again forcibly dragged into the car.

She thought of last Wednesday, last Saturday, and what Chen Jianjin had done to her.

Song Wan began to feel afraid and kept backing away until her back pressed against the sturdy car door.

Chen Jianjin's eyes darkened, and Song Wan swallowed fearfully, "You..."

"Apologize."

“Tell me you take back what you just said.”

"Say you love me."

"You said meeting me was the luckiest thing that ever happened to you."

Song Wan opened her mouth, but couldn't say it.

Chen Jianjin's eyes reddened, veins bulged on his neck, and he gritted his teeth, repeating in a deep voice, "Speak!"
