With the influx of ancient spell characters, a huge white formation emerged above the towering altar.
Ming Luo was tied to the left side of the formation with weak ropes, and a square black iron cage slowly rose from the ground on the other side.
The cage was not big and there was only one person in it, Mingluo’s biological mother - Su Zhen.
Su Zhen collapsed unconscious in the cage, with obvious bruises and scars on his exposed legs and arms. His messy hair covered his face, revealing only his small chin and chapped lips. There was a shocking bloodstain at the corner of his mouth.
"Mom!" Ming Luo struggled to rush over to check her mother's injuries, but she was tied tightly by the ropes of words and could not move.
No matter how loudly Mingluo called out, Su Zhen on the other side did not respond. She just lay quietly on the cold ground, and even her breathing was so light that it could be ignored.
"Sure enough, you are Su Wanling's daughter." Hui Jianzhi temporarily put down the talisman in his hand, walked to Mingluo, pinched her chin, and looked at Mingluo's face carefully.
Ming Luo is 70% similar to Su Zhen, but Ming Luo's eyes are more lively and bright, full of stubbornness like fire, almost burning Hui Jianzhi out.
"What do you want? Let my mother go!" Ming Luo was furious. He struggled to break free from Hui Jianzhi's hand and stared at him angrily.
"Don't be anxious, there will be something interesting to watch next." Hui Jianzhi held Mingluo's cheeks with both hands, straightened her twisted face, and looked into his eyes.
Ming Luo was forced to look at Hui Jianzhi. This was her first time in close contact with him. It was also the first time she discovered that Hui Jianzhi's eyes were like a pool of stagnant water, unable to withstand any waves. Ming Luo was stunned. Could she really defeat such a shrewd and flawless person?
Hui Jianzhi pinched Mingluo's face, not too strong or too weak, just enough to pinch the flesh on her face. He smiled faintly, turned around and walked back to the center of the formation, and took out a yellowed scroll from his arms.
The moment the scroll came into contact with the incantation characters, it slowly expanded as if it had gained life. It floated in the air, absorbing the large amount of characters floating in the formation bit by bit.
As more and more text was absorbed, the yellowed scroll gradually regained its color. It was like an imperial edict, suppressing the formation. The powerful spiritual power pressure forced people to be unable to raise their heads.
Ming Luo narrowed his eyes and looked at the scroll with all his might.
The scroll emitted a soft white light and contained small text, which Mingluo seemed to have seen somewhere.
These are the words on the jade stele in the ancient ruins!
Unfortunately, the ancient characters were nothing more than crooked fonts in Mingluo's eyes, and she couldn't make out what was written on them. But fortunately, the talisman characters that had been hidden on her calf for a long time finally disappeared.
The small character "Ming" slowly floated out from Ming Luo's leg, and followed a large amount of text into the scroll.
About an hour later, the scroll finally absorbed the sea of words. It emitted a soft warm yellow light and floated abruptly in the air.
Two frail women in white dresses were waiting on both sides of the altar. Huijian Zhizhao waved and the two of them respectfully opened the black iron cage and helped Su Zhen up.
One maid supported Su Zhen, while another maid took out an exquisitely carved silver needle and pierced Su Zhen's finger. When the needle fell, blood flowed out. The maid carefully held the porcelain bottle and collected Su Zhen's blood.
"What are you going to do!?" Ming Luo shouted hoarsely.
"It's just bleeding, there's no need to panic." Huijianzhi placed his bony index finger between his lips and made a gesture of silence.
Ming Luo secretly practiced his internal energy, but was attacked by the formation again, and spit out blood again.
Strangely, the blood she spurted out did not fall to the ground, but was completely absorbed by the scroll.
"As expected of Su Wanling's daughter, I knew bringing you back would be useful, but now is not the time to use you." Hui Jianzhi stood behind the scroll, looking at Mingluo with pretended surprise, his eyes full of danger.
After the waitress took a whole bottle of blood, she lowered her head and handed the bottle to Huijianzhi. He silently recited the spell and placed the bottle next to the scroll. The blood in the bottle twisted into a thin thread and flowed from the bottle to the scroll little by little. However, the scroll was not stained with blood. It still emitted a faint light and greedily absorbed Su Zhen's blood.
After the bottle of blood was used up, the waitress cut Su Zhen's finger again and continued to bleed to irrigate the scroll.
Bottle after bottle, Su Zhen's already lifeless face became paler. Her hands drooped in front of her, and the large bloody holes on her fingers were clearly visible.
"Enough! Stop bleeding!" Ming Luo shouted loudly. If he continued to bleed, Su Zhen would probably die from excessive blood loss.
Hui Jianzhi raised his eyes to look at Mingluo and said, "No, no, no, it's far from enough."
Mingshi couldn't bear to watch his mother's blood being drained, so he asked, "Can I use my blood, too? Use mine!"
However, Huijianzhi ignored Mingluo's suggestion. He sneered for a second and ordered the maid to draw blood.
After an unknown amount of time, the sky became even darker, with dark clouds pressing down on the city, threatening to destroy it. The night wind blew with an icy chill, and Mingluo felt dizzy, as if something in her head was about to explode. This kind of headache would occur whenever she encountered danger.
The wind was howling, the rain was pouring, lightning flashed above the clouds, thunder roared, and the storm was sweeping in. Facing the powerful nature, Mingluo felt like she was just a tiny ant, unable to do anything. Her own mother was bled to death, but she couldn't even save her closest relatives.
