Dream No. 5

Dream No. 5

She turned her head and saw a pair of flashing crimson pupils in the darkness.

On each step behind them, the dense pupils merged with the dark darkness, accumulating countless numbers with the number of steps. The flickering crimson was like a ghost fire in the dark forest, silently suspended in the air, and it was as if a huge monster with countless compound eyes stood behind them, staring at their movements all the way down.

The pupils even gathered around Li Xia. He changed his formation midway and walked at the end. Now he was surrounded by them and was motionless, silent like one of them.

Fu Fenglou quickly stepped back and raised his sword: "Possession?"

Corey pulled her nervously: "Can Brother Xia be saved?"

Xu Wei glanced at Li Xia, and the radio gymnastics music sounded again in the narrow corridor. When the beat started, Li Xia's whole body trembled and fell off the stairs. The dozen pairs of deep red pupils around him almost immediately counterattacked, but were quickly controlled by the music, and the countless compound eyes behind them trembled irregularly, and the darkness was filled with disordered collision sounds.

The flashlight came belatedly and swept across the chaotic stairs. Through the blurry light, it was seen that the tentacle man who was crowded on the stairs was the same as the waiter just now.

I don't know when they had formed into groups, filling the entire staircase, but they didn't make any sound to be noticed by strangers in front.

Corey was so scared that he cursed: "When did they come? Why didn't they make any sound? I wonder if these guys have been following us all the way down!"

Lu Fanye used a flashlight to observe carefully: "It didn't attack us. Its behavior was different from the one just now."

He sniffed Li Xia's breath again: "She's still alive."

Fu Fenglou put away his knife: "We have to open the door. They are blocking here and can't go back."

Xu Wei glanced at the tentacle people dancing on the stairs, picked up Li Xia and dragged her aside: "Let them come down and try."

Maybe there were a few people crowding in the back blocking the way.

Sure enough, when everyone moved to the side and Xu Wei stopped his skill, the tentacle people quickly stopped scratching, lined up in a row and rushed towards the closed door in an orderly manner.

Xu Wei watched as this group of vaguely shaped monsters raised their tentacles and inserted them into the door bolt. The salty and fishy smell intensified again, and a faint blue light flowed from their trunks along the tentacles toward the door. Soon the door also had a brilliant light and was pushed open with a creak.

Faint light poured out along the thick dust, and the "bang bang" sound suddenly amplified and exploded in my ears.

“Boom!”

“Boom!”

Xu Wei's heart sank, as if an invisible hand grabbed the beating heart in his chest, smashed it down and then lifted it up again.

Looking back at the others, they were all holding their chests with unbearable expressions, and Corey even fell to the ground with white eyes.

The tentacle people rushed into the door at an extremely fast speed. The leader had already disappeared. Time was urgent, so she didn't care about others and stepped into the door.

The moment he entered the room, he felt a shrill tinnitus and the pressure on his heart increased exponentially. Xu Wei endured the discomfort and pounded his chest several times before he could barely catch up with the last tentacle man.

Behind the door was only a narrow metal corridor with traces of wet water on the ground. The further one went in, the louder the thudding sound became. At the end of the corridor, light suddenly pierced over.

This is a prison cell larger than a football field. The noisy mooing of livestock is heard constantly. Cows, sheep, and pigs are surrounded in a triangle by iron fences of different colors. In the largest crimson fence in the middle are a dozen children.

The tentacles surrounded the fence but did not approach, and raised their tentacles to touch the panicked children. The screams seemed to be a stimulant. Xu Wei's eyes darted around and finally stopped at the two children in the middle of the fence.

Big Nine and Little Nine.

They looked like they had lost their memory, no different from any other bewildered toddlers.

"Why is there still one person left behind?" Howard's voice suddenly sounded in his ears, and he patted Xu Wei's wrist to urge him, "Hurry over, the small sacrifice is about to begin, don't you want to share some?"

Xu Wei lowered his head and squeezed into the crowd.

This ship is full of things that move silently.

Howard didn't suspect anything and walked towards the fence. The children screamed even louder when they saw him and rolled and crawled in the direction farthest away from him.

"Why are you running? Offer your sacrifice to the Lord of the Ship. It is your honor to dedicate yourself to the Howard family."

A thick tentacle stretched out from Howard's torn chest and pierced through the bodies of the five children like a skewers. Blood flowed back and dripped onto the floor outside the fence. The screams almost blew off the ceiling.

Blood splattered on Xu Wei, and she actually developed a vague desire. The tentacles around her body pressed towards Howard like crazy, and thousands of them eagerly explored the corpse.

Howard lifted the body and walked around in a circle as if signaling to someone, muttering something to himself. At the end of the muttering, his tone became fearful, and he fell to his knees with his forehead against the ground.

"I understand, my Lord."

He seemed to understand something.

The huge tentacle slowly placed the corpse in front of it. Howard's mouth cracked to both ends of his cheeks, and he opened his mouth and bit off half of the head.

This seemed like some kind of sacrificial ritual. After he bit off the five heads, the tentacle people swarmed over and devoured them.

Howard moved his lips and chewed the skull, looking at the chaotic crowd with satisfaction, and walked to the side of the wall under Xu Wei's peripheral vision and stuck to it. The wall, rolling like mud, had larger ripples, and the folds kept shrinking and tightening, swallowing him up completely.

No wonder it came so silently.

Xu Wei waited for a while before he came out from the crowd and walked quickly towards the fence.

When the children saw her, the screams that had finally subsided started again.

Dajiu and Xiaojiu were also retreating. Xu Wei was too lazy to explain to them, so she climbed over the fence and started arresting people. After becoming a tentacle man, the side effects of her old body disappeared. She easily caught the two frightened children, kicked the fence door, and drove all the children out.

She had noticed before that the tentacle people seemed to be very secretive about this fence, and would stay away from it even though they longed for flesh and blood, but as an outsider, she was not affected at all.

For a moment, the basement was filled with the noise of children running around. The tentacle people who couldn't snatch the remains of the corpse were ready to make a move, but in the end they didn't take action.

The live young children were less attractive to them than the pieces of meat on the ground.

Xu Wei took advantage of his tentacles to hold Dajiu and Xiaojiu on the left and right, and drove half of the children out of the door like a shepherd, half chasing and half driving sheep, and ran towards the corridor they came from.

There were marks left by her teammates in the corridor. She drove the "flock" upwards, racing against time all the way.

There was such a big commotion below that it was impossible for Howard not to notice it, and he had to take the "flock" away before that.

The fishy smell at the tip of my nose became weaker and weaker, and the "dong dong" sound was almost inaudible. I stepped on the last step, and the door was open. The moonlight shone in, and the sound of waves rose and fell.

“Pah.”

There was a sound of something wet and sticky sticking to the floor outside the door. The tall shadow seemed to have been waiting for a long time. Several tentacles extended from its torn body and accurately grabbed the children who were running outside.

Howard stepped out slowly, smiling brightly: "Mrs. Xu is in a good mood and likes to go out for a walk in the middle of the night."

He blocked the remaining children and Xu Wei at the stairs. A light blue liquid poured out from under his feet. The salty and fishy smell was suddenly strong and flowed all over the ground along with the sound of waves.

Xu Wei felt annoyed: "Is this also Howard's way of entertaining guests?"

The other party made a gentlemanly "please": "Madam, please put down my two offerings and go back to rest."

"What if I don't?"

Howard retracted his action, folded his hands and smiled: "If you are not afraid, you can give it a try."

Xu Wei glanced at him and smiled in an ambiguous way: "Why don't you kill all the ones who ran away like you did just now? It's quite troublesome to catch all of them. Because you can't just kill them?"

Howard didn't answer, but there was a faint red light in his eyes.

Feeling the anger and restlessness churning in his mind, Xu Wei laughed even more happily: "It seems that those people like you were not attacked due to some kind of restriction. Is it because the Lord of the Ship did not allow it, or is it because it is not the time yet and they are afraid of affecting the high sacrifice?"

When we went down, there were fifteen children in the fence. If we follow the rule of killing five people a day, we can infer that it will be a special day in two days. Howard mentioned a small sacrifice, so it is very likely to be the corresponding big sacrifice.

The tentacles shot out in response to her.

Xu Wei was prepared. He dodged and said with a smile, "I guessed right. Then let me guess again. You manipulated Karina to transmit the video and planted a curse on us that can affect our spirits. Moreover, we are not the first group of tourists to be cursed. The family that Neil mentioned was killed by Karina was also killed by you."

The increasingly fierce attack left her no time to speak. Seeing that she was about to be sucked by the tentacles, Xu Wei dragged a nearby child to block her.

The tentacles shot out with great force, but stopped just an inch away from the face of the howling child.

Xu Wei held the struggling child hostage, thinking, "So the little sacrifice requires a young child. There are many tourists with children on the boat. You could have killed the one in my hand and then captured him, but you were so cautious that you didn't dare to alert the enemy. You even tried to control the tourists with a curse. Are you afraid of alerting more people and ruining the final plan?"

She suddenly raised her head and looked at Howard. The gentle music that had been playing in her ears suddenly became louder: "Howard, tell me, is your final plan to sacrifice the entire ship?"

Howard was stunned, his eyes were red, and he struggled for a long time. Only when a look of pain appeared on his face did he nod with difficulty.

The "bang bang" sound in Xu Wei's ears became louder and louder, as if some big guy who had been observing all this got angry. His heart suddenly sank, as if a hand was gripping his beating heart and gradually tightening, and blood oozed from his nose and mouth for no reason.

"Second, question," she suppressed the dull pain in her chest, dragged Dajiu and Xiaojiu past Howard and walked towards the door, "Is the ship god the Dream itself? Is your plan to sacrifice the entire ship to summon the complete ship?"

After a long while, a voice came from behind: "Yes, Master."

Sweat dripped down Xu Wei's forehead and his eyeballs were red due to congestion.

It is not difficult to guess that the Dream is "alive" through a series of clues since boarding the ship. As time goes by, many aspects of the hull tend to be "fleshed out", and the dull "dong dong" sound is most likely its heartbeat. Xu Wei can even guess that this is the core part of the Dream through the violent "dong" sound at the sacrificial site.

The difficulty lies in how to guide Howard to reveal his plan step by step.

He should be considered as a small BOSS in this B-level book, about the same level as her current level. If she rashly used "Uncontrolled Falling" to hypnotize him, she would inevitably suffer backlash, not to mention that there was a bigger guy getting in the way.

Xu Wei stepped out of the door and took a deep breath: "How can I stop your plan?"
