"We're here." Bo Junyi turned off the engine, and his profile was coated with a soft light in the sunlight.
"Why do you want to come here?" Li Susu asked in a low voice.
Bo Junyi paused while unbuckling his seat belt.
"I dream about losing my baby every night... I want to set up a memorial tablet for them to find peace of mind."
Li Susu's nails dug deep into her palms.
"No need." She suddenly choked up and looked up, tears welling up in her eyes, "The baby... the baby is still here."
"What did you say?" His voice was hoarse, but when he saw her red eyes, he suddenly softened his tone, "When did you know? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I just confirmed it too." Li Susu sniffed. "I want to wait until the dangerous period is over... I'm afraid you'll be sad like last time..."
Before she finished speaking, she fell into a warm embrace.
Bo Junyi rested his chin on the top of her head and stroked her back again and again.
"It's okay, everything is okay." His voice trembled. "If you have any problems in the future, be the first to tell me. We'll handle it together, okay?"
Li Susu buried her head in his shoulder and nodded vigorously.
The wind brought the sound of chanting from afar, mixed with the repeated knocking of wooden fish, weaving a gentle net in the twilight.
"Are you still going in?" she asked, looking up.
Bo Junyi nodded, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, got out of the car, took her hand and walked towards the temple.
"Since I'm here, I'll burn some incense for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. This time... I have to thank them sincerely."
As you step into the temple, the scent of sandalwood mixed with moss hits you in the face.
Bo Junyi always held Li Susu's hand and protected her on the inside away from the crowd.
The bluestone steps wound upwards, and he carried Li Susu all the way up.
Passing by the Main Hall and the Sutra Library, the sound of bells echoed, startling a few white pigeons that flew over the vermilion eaves.
After turning around the corridor, two figures in crimson monk robes suddenly appeared on the steps. They kowtowed every three steps, their foreheads banging heavily on the stone steps.
Li Susu held her breath and looked at their calloused hands clasped together, and suddenly something touched her heart.
"Bo Junyi, put me down. I can walk by myself."
"Are you sure?"
"It doesn't matter, really."
Bo Junyi put her down and continued walking until the two monks disappeared around the corner.
In front of the Guanyin Hall, the gilded Guanyin statue lowered its eyes to look down at all living beings. Amidst the fragrant mist, he gently stuffed his bag into Li Susu's arms and knelt down on the cushion.
He kowtowed 108 times, his back remained straight, and he was completely unaware of the red mark on his forehead from the cushion.
Li Susu knew very well that he was doing this for the baby and hoped that the baby would be born safely.
She thought silently in her heart that when her body recovered almost completely, she would come again and pray for the baby and him.
In a hidden corner, Bo Siyu's high heels, who had been following all the way, suddenly stopped.
Looking at that pious figure, his eyes gradually turned red.
