Father Xia gently placed her fingertips on Bo Junyi's palm and said in a hoarse voice:
"My precious daughter, I'll leave it to you from now on."
Bo Junyi solemnly clasped her hand, his Adam's apple rolling: "Dad, don't worry. I will love and protect her for the rest of my life..."
Father Xia turned his head away and quickly wiped the corners of his moist eyes with his fingertips.
Bo Junyi put his arm around Li Susu's waist and walked towards the main stage on rose petals.
The overlapping figures of the two people were gilded under the spotlight.
In an instant, applause swept across the entire venue like a wave, mixed with whistles and cheers one after another, pushing the atmosphere in the banquet hall to its climax.
The emcee held a microphone, and his voice, filled with emotion, echoed under the dome: "May this beautiful couple hold hands and be together forever..."
The spotlights interweave into a dazzling galaxy in the center of the stage.
Soon it was time to exchange rings. The moment Bo Junyi knelt on one knee, the whole audience burst into applause.
He held up her hand and slowly pushed the platinum ring onto her ring finger.
Li Susu imitated him and put on the men's ring for him. Their fingertips trembled slightly when they touched each other, and even the voice of the host announcing "Kiss the bride" became vague and distant.
When Bo Junyi leaned forward, his white veil and dark suit blended in the light and shadow.
His kiss suddenly softened when it touched the corner of her lips.
Amid the roaring applause from the audience, Li Susu could vaguely hear her own pounding heart, mixed with Bo Junyi's warm whisper: "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
After the wedding, the banquet hall was bustling with people and the noise of toasting and drinking could be heard one after another.
Bo Junyi lowered his eyes and looked at Li Susu beside him.
She still maintained a proper smile, but considering her physical condition, he put his arm around her waist and said to the guests around him in a gentle voice:
"Sorry everyone, I'll stop here for today. My wife isn't feeling well, so I'll take her to rest."
As soon as he finished speaking, he picked up Li Susu steadily and carried her horizontally.
Li Susu cried softly and subconsciously hugged his neck.
Bo Junyi strode through the crowd, with the guests' kind laughter and blessings ringing behind him.
He held her in his arms as they walked across the rose petals covering the ground, through the corridor where light and shadow intertwined.
The moment the hotel door closed, Li Susu tiptoed closer, her carefully carved eyebrows curved into crescents: "Aren't you planning on rewarding the bride?"
She hooked her fingertips, which were stained with pearl-colored nail polish, on Bo Junyi's tie, but saw the man subconsciously tilt his head, his Adam's apple rolling under his cold white skin.
"What's wrong?" She blinked her almond-shaped eyes at the stranger's face, her tone a little coquettish.
Bo Junyi reached out and pinched her burning earlobe, his voice hoarse: "This face... can't be kissed. Wait until we get home tonight, and I'll kiss you again."
The ambiguous hint made Li Susu's ears turn red instantly, and the hem of her wedding dress was wrinkled.
When she changed back into casual clothes and walked out of the hotel, a black Maybach was already parked at the side door of the hotel.
Zhou Huaixu lowered the window in the driver's seat, and Tang Yixin in the back seat suddenly grabbed the front seat: "Senior Zhou, did you recognize the wrong person?"
Li Susu bent down and sat in the car, and handed the heavy makeup case to Tang Yixin: "Help me take off my makeup quickly, my false eyelashes are hurting my eyes."
Tang Yixin stared at her unfamiliar face, opened the makeup box with trembling fingertips, and couldn't help but marvel when the makeup remover cotton pad brushed against the familiar lip shape.
"Oh my god, Susu, this face...it's like a completely different person!"
Li Susu smiled, "That's right!"
"This makeup artist is amazing!"
"Bo Junyi helped me with it."
Tang Yixin showed an incredible expression on her face and silently gave her a thumbs up.
Then, he leaned over to ask Zhou Huaixu in the driver's seat, "Senior Zhou, how come your cousin knows everything?"
Zhou Huaixu responded calmly, "This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are more surprises to come."
Li Susu inexplicably remembered that Bo Junyi had said the same thing to her before, and her ears turned red unconsciously.
Fortunately, no one noticed her.
Tang Yixin was asking him with a crazy look on her face whether he had any other cousins.
Zhou Huaixu: "I don't have a cousin, but I do have a cousin who's in his second year of high school. Is that okay?"
Tang Yixin's mouth twitched. "Forget it. Let's wait for two years until the child becomes an adult."
The Maybach was driving smoothly on the road. In the rearview mirror, Li Susu's plain face was still stained with traces of makeup remover. Zhou Huaixu accidentally met her gaze and subconsciously looked away.
The knuckles gripping the steering wheel turned slightly white.
In the back row, Tang Yixin carefully removed Li Susu's makeup with a cotton pad.
"Susu, isn't this too risky for you? Do you really have to keep pretending to be Xia Muyan?"
"It's just a mutually beneficial marriage." She chuckled, her fingertips unconsciously rubbing the wedding ring on her ring finger. "Xia Muyan will soon go abroad under the guise of studying abroad and will only appear a few times a year. Compared to living in fear, this disguise is nothing."
Tang Yixin pressed on: "What about after the baby is born? We can't keep it a secret forever..."
Before she finished speaking, Li Susu had already tilted her head and rested it on her shoulder, the smell of wedding hairspray still lingering in her hair.
"Things will work out in the end." Her voice was weary yet reassuringly bright. "As long as I can finish college in peace and keep the Bo family from being bothered by my family, I'll be content."
The car fell into a brief silence, with only the rustling sound of the wheels rolling over the asphalt road.

The sunlight shines through the leaves of the sycamore trees, casting mottled shadows on the tree-lined avenue.
Li Susu walked towards the classroom with her books in her arms, and from time to time she could hear some small discussions along the way.
"Did you see the Bo Group wedding? The bride was absolutely stunning, like she stepped out of a fairy tale!"
