Chapter 144 Who wouldn’t be shy?

Li Susu buttoned her clothes so neatly and quickly that the doctor who had just finished the unblocking examination couldn't help laughing.

After the doctor left, Li Susu breathed a sigh of relief, but turned around and met Bo Junyi's smiling gaze.

"Your face is so red, you're so shy easily." He teased while leaning on the hospital bed, smiling with amusement.

"Who wouldn't be shy?" Li Susu's ears felt hot and she quickly walked to the bed.

She habitually reached out to tidy up the corner of the quilt that had slipped off. Just as her fingertips touched the soft fabric, she saw Bo Junyi suddenly clutch the edge of the quilt.

This unusual behavior made her stunned for a moment: "What's wrong?"

"It's okay." Bo Junyi's Adam's apple rolled, and his ears were obviously red when he turned his face away.

Li Susu suddenly reacted and looked down: "Do you want to go to the bathroom?"

As she was about to lift the quilt, he held her wrist firmly.

"Don't move—"

His voice was a little deeper than usual, and the ending was hoarse as if it had been rubbed with sandpaper.

Li Susu was about to ask more questions when she was suddenly pulled into his arms.

The scent of mint mixed with disinfectant hit her face. Bo Junyi's lips brushed her red earlobe, and his hot words wrapped in heat fell into her cochlea.

"Just now I accidentally looked at you a little too much... I couldn't help it, and my reaction was a bit strong."

She froze in his arms, the warmth behind her ears quickly spreading to her entire face.

When my fingertips touched the tense muscles on his back, my heartbeat began to speed up uncontrollably.

Her face was red as blood, and she shuddered out of shyness and broke free from his arms, leaving the ward under the pretext of going downstairs to buy something.

More than ten minutes later, when she came back, she happened to see the doctor lifting the gauze on Bo Junyi's leg.

The snow-white bandages peeled off layer by layer, revealing the hideous wound on the ankle, and the new skin on the inner thigh was a terrifying light pink.

She held her breath, her throat felt sore, and tears fell uncontrollably.

Bo Junyi turned around suddenly when he heard the gasp, and was slightly stunned: "Susu? Why are you back so soon?"

"Just go downstairs and take a walk." Her voice choked.

It was not until the doctor packed up his equipment and left, and the ward door clicked shut, that she suddenly burst into tears.

Li Susu curled up on the bed, her shoulders shaking from crying: "It's all my fault... If I had chosen to believe you, you wouldn't..."

The sobs made her voice fragmented and heartbreaking.

Bo Junyi struggled to stand up, opened his bandaged arm, and gently pulled her wrist: "Come here."

Seeing that she still lowered her head stubbornly, he softened his tone again, "Actually, it's not that serious. The doctor said I can basically recover to my original state."

Li Susu obediently moved to the bedside, but was pulled into his arms.

The warmth of his body, tinged with the smell of medicine, pierced through the thin hospital gown. He rubbed his chin against the top of her head, his voice shrouded in laughter: "If you cry again, I'll kiss you."

She buried her face in his chest, feeling the steady and strong heartbeat, her tears soaking the gauze.

"From now on, I will never doubt you again..." Before she finished speaking, Bo Junyi's kiss had already landed on her trembling eyelashes.

The long and gentle touch dispelled the last trace of haze, and the two people's breathing gradually intertwined.

“Squeak—”

The ward door was pushed open without warning.

Qin Zhao and Bo Siyu saw the scene in the room and froze in place at the same time.

The moment their eyes met, the air seemed to freeze into ice.

Li Susu stood up in a panic, almost knocking over the chair with such force.

Qin Zhao's deliberately raised voice came from the door: "It seems we came at the wrong time——"

Li Susu stepped forward quickly.

His sight fell on Bo Siyu and Qin Zhao.

The two of them standing side by side looked particularly intimate.

The cashmere coats on her body are all oatmeal-colored, with a subtle sense of matching from the collar to the cuffs.

After greeting each other, the two walked into the ward.

When Bo Siyu saw her weak and haggard brother lying on the hospital bed, her eyes instantly turned red.

Qin Zhao walked past her to Bo Junyi's side, and gently placed his hand on his shoulder: "How do you feel?"

"With my wife by my side, my life is pretty good." Bo Junyi answered with great ease.

"When does the doctor say I can get out of bed?" Qin Zhao leaned over to adjust the bed's angle, his tone concerned. "Long-term bed rest can cause muscle atrophy. It's best to do some rehabilitation training..."

Bo Junyi responded nonchalantly, his eyes darting between the two overlapping figures: "What's going on between you two?"

"Maybe it's...pretend becomes reality?" Qin Zhao raised his eyebrows and chuckled, a happy arc appearing at the corner of his mouth.

"Who's going to make a fake play with you real?" Bo Siyu glared at him, her ears reddening, "I didn't promise anything."

"What about what happened that day?" Qin Zhao suddenly leaned in close, his warm breath brushing against her red earlobe. "Sister, are you planning to abandon me after having an affair with me?"

These words made Bo Siyu's face turn red instantly.

The charming scenes after last week's drunkenness came to mind uncontrollably, and the warmth of their entangled bodies seemed to still remain on their skin.

She turned her face away in panic, but met Bo Junyi's meaningful gaze.

Looking at his sister's helpless look, Bo Junyi understood.

I can't help feeling a little depressed.

It was obvious that he and Su Su were the real couple, but this "fake couple" who appeared halfway through developed a ridiculously fast relationship.

He secretly comforted himself and decided to wait a little longer until he and Susu recovered and then make up for the "gap" with interest.

Bo Siyu went to Country S this time, ostensibly to visit her injured brother, but actually she also wanted to avoid Su Jianming.

Ever since her ex-husband found out about her relationship with Qin Zhao, he has been like a lit powder keg, following her everywhere, and even trying to use their daughter Mianmian as a bargaining chip to force her to remarry.

Remarry?

To Bo Siyu, this was simply a fantasy!

She had already drawn a red line in her heart. Even if she died alone, she would never remarry Su Jianming.

Bo Siyu froze her eggs in a well-known private hospital in Country M a few years ago, and now this has become her confidence in escaping the shackles of marriage.

With just one more flight, she could complete the test-tube transplant and completely sever ties with her marriage.

She did not reveal this plan to anyone, not even Qin Zhao, who was with her day and night.

Qin Zhao only learned from his cousin that Bo Junyi was seriously injured, and out of concern he accompanied her across the ocean.

Bo Siyu was thinking about how to avoid Qin Zhao and set off alone tomorrow.

Her fingertips brushed across the coat Qin Zhao casually draped over the back of the chair, and the warm touch made her heart skip a beat.

It is undeniable that she had feelings for this man who was younger than her, but the scars in her previous marriage were so deep that she did not dare to gamble on the future again.

You can only choose the safest way, stay away from marriage and so-called love.
