Chapter 18 Want Me to Help You?

Her eyes involuntarily fell on Bo Junyi, who was helping the comatose Zhou Huaixu lie down on the sofa.

She took a deep breath and was about to turn around when the man's eyes fell on her.

The moment their eyes met, the air froze for a moment.

Li Susu tightened her fingers slightly and grasped the hem of her pajamas.

She opened her mouth and wanted to say hello, but was afraid of disturbing Zhou Huaixu.

After hesitating for a moment, he lowered his head and turned to go upstairs.

At this moment, she heard the sound of the living room door opening, and then she heard Aunt Lin worriedly:

"Master Huaixu doesn't usually like to drink. What happened today? Why is he so drunk?"

Bo Junyi said calmly, "I was rejected by the girl I liked."

Li Susu paused slightly, and the next second she heard Aunt Lin tsk, "Young Master Huai Xu can reject such a good offer, that girl must be extraordinary."

"Everyone has their own preferences. Love is not just about external factors."

"That's the truth. For example, I liked Miss Susu the first time I saw her. Not only is she pretty, but she's also quiet, diligent, and polite. The young master has already achieved success in his career, and the most urgent thing for him is to build a happy and complete family. The master and his wife have been looking forward to this for many years."

"I've just met her, it's too early to talk about marriage, let's just let nature take its course."

"Okay, take your time."

Li Susu's heart sank and she tiptoed into the bedroom.

The bedroom door closed gently, Li Susu leaned against the door and took a deep breath.

She analyzed the relationship between Zhou Huaixu and Bo Junyi, and felt increasingly uneasy at the thought that they might have more interactions in the future.

When I walked to the dressing mirror, I inadvertently saw the slightly childish two-piece teddy bear pajamas I was wearing. I bought them in town when I was in the third grade of junior high school. They cost 30 yuan a set. I have been wearing them until now, and they have faded due to washing.

I wonder if Bo Junyi will dislike her for being a country bumpkin.

Thinking of this, she slapped her head hard.

Li Susu, are you okay? Why do you care about his opinion?

You don't have any future with him!

That's right, you and he are from two completely different worlds. He treats you well only because of the baby in your belly.

Therefore, you must never have any illusions about him, and you must not be fooled by his face!

When Li Susu was worrying about her lack of success, she suddenly heard footsteps coming from the stairs. Her back stiffened and she immediately slipped back into bed, turned off the lights and went to sleep.

Soon, there was a knock on the door.

Li Susu held her breath.

Judging from the footsteps just now, she guessed that the person at the door should be Bo Junyi.

But he was also afraid that it might be Zhou Huaixu. He was so drunk that it wouldn't be surprising for him to walk into the wrong room.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

Li Susu carefully got up from the bed, tiptoed to the door, put her ear against the door panel, trying to hear the movement outside.

"Li Susu!"

A man's slightly impatient voice came to my ears.

Hearing that it was Bo Junyi, Li Susu immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

After hesitating for a moment, he turned on the light and opened the door.

Bo Junyi stood at the door, his figure tall and straight, giving off an oppressive feeling.

He smelled faintly of alcohol.

She didn't know if it was her illusion, but she always felt that he was a little drunk, with a blush on his cheeks, and the drunkenness made his already deep eyes even deeper.

Li Susu was stared at by him and pursed her lips nervously, "Mr. Bo, have you been drinking?"

"Yeah, I drank a little."

Bo Junyi's eyes fell on Li Susu's face, and he noticed the faint finger marks on her cheek and frowned slightly.

"Does your face still hurt?" His voice was low and contained a hint of concern.

Li Susu touched her cheek almost subconsciously and shook her head gently, "It doesn't hurt anymore."

Bo Junyi said nothing. He took out a small tube of ointment from his pocket and handed it to her. "This is an ointment for reducing swelling. The doctor said it's very effective. Try applying it."

Li Susu's eyes fell on the ointment, and she took a moment to calm down the sudden sourness in her heart.

Before going to college, she was often beaten for various reasons.

When her father lost money gambling, he would take it out on her, saying that she was a money-loser and that studying was a waste of money. When he got angry, he would beat her.

Her mother would take her anger out on her because she was upset about the domestic violence from her father, and even her brother wanted her to go out to work and earn money early.

When she was in the third year of junior high school, she was caught by her mother reviewing her homework at home. Her brother had just been broken off from engagement at that time, and she was so angry that she tore up all her books.

She cried and used transparent tape to stick the pages together one by one. Her mother went crazy and threw all the unrecognizable pieces of paper into the stove and burned them to ashes.

She locked herself in her room and cried for hours.

That night, in the middle of the night, she faintly heard her parents discussing her engagement. They said that the 300,000 yuan betrothal gift was enough to buy a wedding house in the city for her brother.

Buying a house in the city was a request made by the girl who broke off the engagement with her brother.

The next morning, while she was still cooking in the kitchen, several matchmakers came to her house. They boasted to her father that the man's family had bought a house in a big city and a luxury car... and said that she would definitely live a happy life if she married him.

But the fact is, the man is twenty years older than her and has lost two wives, both reportedly beaten to death by domestic violence. His second wife left behind a son and a daughter, so she would marry him to be a stepmother.

Her parents and the matchmakers were grinning from ear to ear, and the more she listened, the more uncomfortable she felt. Finally, she lost her temper, started cursing, and kicked the matchmakers out with a broom.
