Li Susu vaguely thought that tears blurred her vision, so she raised her hand and rubbed her eyes vigorously until the familiar face came into clear view.
With his sharp jawline and dark pupils like deep pools, Bo Junyi was looking down at her.
"Why are you here? Where's Mianmian?" Her voice was choked with sobs, and tiny drops of water were still condensed on her eyelashes.
Bo Junyi's slender fingers gently brushed across the corners of her red eyes, and his fingertips felt warm.
"The kindergarten teacher is taking care of her. I just told Ji Lin, he'll be here soon."
Li Susu felt that she had lost her composure, so she turned her face away awkwardly and pretended to remain calm.
"I'm just going back to school to take care of some things. You don't have to come with me..."
"Really?" Bo Junyi raised his eyebrows and stared at her with deep eyes.
Li Susu nodded in panic.
"You should go back quickly. Mianmian will be worried."
She avoided his burning gaze, but was startled by his sudden question, "Will you be sad if I leave now?"
Li Susu froze in place, feeling as if there was cotton stuck in her throat.
The moment Bo Junyi stood up, she grabbed the hem of his suit as if possessed by a demon.
When the man turned around, a fleeting smile flashed across his eyes.
He sat down again, his warm palm covering the back of her hand.
"Are you reluctant to let me go?" He deliberately moved closer.
"No." Li Susu bit her lip: "I don't want you to get too close to Shen Qingyao."
Bo Junyi paused and gently combed her slightly messy hair with his slender fingers.
There was heartache in his eyes, "Susu, I'm sorry, I made you feel wronged."
"No." She looked up at him, tears welling in her eyes. "I'm lucky enough to have met you. This little thing is nothing."
Bo Junyi's Adam's apple rolled and he was silent for a moment. He found that several young girls in the back row were looking at him. He resisted the urge to kiss her and just put his arm around her shoulders.
Even so, there were still whispers of discussion in the back row.
The whispers of several girls mixed with suppressed exclamations drifted into my ears.
"Oh my god, that guy in front is so handsome!"
"He must be over 190cm tall, right? He looks like a domineering CEO straight out of a novel!"
"I don't know who this guy is dating... I'm jealous!"
"Didn't you see? His girlfriend is pretty, but she looks so young, isn't she underage?"
"She doesn't feel like a girlfriend, she should be a sister..."
The corners of Li Susu's mouth, which were originally raised, froze.
The image of Shen Qingyao, elegant and intellectual in a long skirt, suddenly popped into her mind. Then she looked down at herself wearing a simple light pink sweater and jeans, looking exactly like a high school student.
No wonder she was mistaken for his sister.
She clutched the corner of her clothes and secretly made a decision in her heart - she would change her dressing style in the future, so that she would at least look more suitable when standing next to him.
Just when I was distracted, a sweet and sickly "brother" floated into my ears like a feather.
When she turned around, she saw the sweet-looking girl behind her stand up and ask, "Can I add you on WeChat?"
The girl gently poked Bo Junyi's back with her finger.
Bo Junyi seemed not to hear.
The girl was a little embarrassed. She held her phone out to Li Susu, her almond-shaped eyes curved into crescents. "Beautiful lady, could you please add me on WeChat..."
Before Li Susu could react, the phone was handed to her.
She seemed to have taken over a hot potato. After a moment of silence, she mechanically looked at Bo Junyi beside her, a sour taste in her throat: "Someone added you on WeChat."
Bo Junyi raised his eyebrows and slowly unlocked his phone.
At the moment when the slender fingers were about to touch the scanning box, Li Susu suddenly took away the girl's mobile phone.
The metal frame hurt my palms. "Are you really going to add it?"
"How dare I disobey the madam's order?" The man's deep voice was filled with a smile. His bony hand suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
The cuff of his suit brushed against her hot cheek, and a faint scent of pine mixed with the smell of tobacco hit her face.
The carriage fell into an eerie silence, and the girls' eyes moved back and forth between the two men's clasped hands.
lady?
What do you mean? Are they a couple?
Li Susu's cheeks were burning, but she leaned intimately against Bo Junyi's shoulder.
Then he put the phone back into the girl's hand, with a smile on his face: "Sorry, we just got the marriage certificate, I was just joking with him just now-"
Several girls laughed secretly, and the girl who asked for WeChat blushed so much that her face was bleeding.
"Sorry, I thought he was your brother," the girl said with embarrassment, then added, "After all, you two are both very handsome—"
Li Susu said sympathetically, "It's okay. The first time I met my husband, I couldn't help but ask for his WeChat. He was just as aloof back then. It took me several months to finally win him over."
Before she could finish her words, she was pressed into Bo Junyi's arms, and a low chuckle came from above her head.
This seemed to be very helpful to him.
When the car arrived at the station, several girls got off laughing and glanced in the direction of Bo Junyi before leaving.
After the people walked away, the smile on Li Susu's face quickly disappeared. She turned her head to look out the window and spoke in a faint voice.
"I'm going back to school. You can't still follow me, right?"
Bo Junyi naturally knew that she was jealous. He pulled her into his arms and lowered his head, his warm breath brushing against the tips of her red ears. "Why go back to school? Get off at the next stop and go to the movies with me."
Li Susu then remembered that she had helped book movie tickets in the morning and spent several hundred dollars. It would be a shame not to go to the movie.
Half an hour before the movie started, Bo Junyi took Li Susu to a bookstore on the third floor, and then went to the theater together when the time was almost up.
Li Susu followed Bo Junyi like a little tail, watching him buy popcorn and drinks.
"Be careful." He turned around and stuffed the bucket of popcorn into her hands.
Li Susu stared at the glossy popcorn, her eyelashes fluttering slightly. "This is quite sweet. Will it be bad for the baby?"
"Pregnant women who consume a moderate amount of sweets can relieve anxiety."
"I'll just try it." Li Susu curled the corners of her lips.
Bo Junyi rubbed her hair and took her hand as they walked into the screening room.
Li Susu was shocked by the darkness that was coming towards her.
In the empty theater, the blue light from the screen flowed between the rows of seats, and there was no one else except them.
