Chapter 103: A Child Growing Up in Love

The next day, Gu Xuran was going back, and they all went to see him off. Su He felt reluctant to let him go, but there was nothing she could do. She could only watch his car drive away until she could no longer see it.

The Spring Festival passed by quickly amidst their playfulness and the children's laughter, and in the blink of an eye, school was about to start. They still felt a little reluctant, but this year was special. Faced with the increasingly short countdown to the college entrance examination, they could only forge ahead, fearless of all difficulties.

As the Gaokao (National College Entrance Examination) drew closer, Yancuo grew increasingly nervous. She became worried, often staring at her textbook, unable to write a single word. Even though the exam was still months away, she seemed to be suffering from a kind of pre-exam syndrome: the mere thought of the day filled her with anxiety and apprehension.

She didn't know what was wrong with her. She started to suffer from insomnia. She stayed awake all night, staring at the ceiling with her eyes wide open, her mind in a mess.

It's just another test in life, why should I be so nervous? I've already experienced the high school entrance exam, haven't I? She kept telling herself this and counseling herself, but to little avail.

She didn't tell anyone because she didn't want to make them worry. She tried hard to adjust herself, relax, try to reduce the time spent on doing exercises, and go to bed early every day.

The day before school started, Yan Cuo finally went to see Su He. Su He was shocked when she saw her, "What's wrong with you? You look so bad?"

Yan Cuo walked beside her bed, not knowing how to start. "Su He, I feel so anxious lately."

"What are you anxious about?"

"The Gaokao (National College Entrance Examination) is getting closer and closer, and I'm really worried about not doing well. I have this inexplicable anxiety, and I'm always nervous. I can't concentrate on reading a single word. I don't know what's wrong with me."

Yan Cuo was also shocked by what she said, and seeing her like this, he became a little worried, "I think you just think too much, always hiding things in your heart, and never venting them, so this is bound to happen."

As she spoke, she walked over and sat next to Yan Cuo, looking her in the eye. "I'm going to ask you a few questions, and you have to answer them seriously."

"good."

"You've done so many exercises and tests during the winter break. Do you think they're difficult?"

Yan Cuo thought for a moment and said, "It's not too difficult, it's within an acceptable range."

"Then let me ask you again, do you think you are happy now? Are your uncle and aunt good to you? Is Yu Muyang good to you?"

Yan Cuo said without hesitation, "I am living a good life now. My uncle and aunt treat me very well, Yu Muyang is also very good, and you are all doing well."

Su He seemed to know her answer in advance. "Then why are you still anxious? You have good grades now, and you have gained family, friendship, and love. What else do you have to think about? I think you just think too much, always thinking about unnecessary things."

Yan Cuo's thoughts gradually became clearer after what she said, just like when the clouds and fog were cleared away, everything became clear all of a sudden.

She hugged Su He and said cheerfully, "Thank you, Su He. I understand. I will adjust myself and face it in the best possible state."

Su He patted her shoulder and said, "That's right. Your grades are so good, there will be no problem for you to go to Anhui University."

As he was talking, Su He glanced at the test paper in the distance, grabbed a handful of hair in annoyance, and looked worried.

"What's wrong with you?" Yan Cuo grabbed her hand, "Stop pulling your hair all the time, or you'll go bald."

"I can't solve the problem. I've been thinking about it for a long time and still can't figure it out. I feel so stupid. Can you help me?"

Yan Cuo walked over, picked up the test paper, and saw that there was a question circled and drawn by Su He. He wrote a lot and then crossed it out. There were several small holes on the paper, which showed the owner's irritable mood.

Yan Cuo looked at the question and felt it was familiar. He thought for a moment and smiled, "I also spent a long time working on this question. The idea is this: look at it like this..."

After talking for a while, Su He felt as if he had suddenly realized something. He looked at Yan Cuo with more envy, "Yan Cuo, I envy you so much. You are smarter than me and work so hard. Don't you know that my dad often praises you in front of me?"

Yan Cuo smiled sheepishly, "I'm not smart, I just do it more and have mastered some skills. You are smarter than me. Besides, you are so cute, everyone loves you and flowers bloom wherever you go."

"Will your next sentence be a flat tire when cars meet each other?" Su He pretended to glare at her, "I knew you couldn't say anything nice."

Yan Cuo looked at her arrogant little appearance and said as if he was used to it, "I can't praise you all the time, otherwise you will become proud."

"Tsk, you're just jealous that I'm cuter than you." Yan Cuo raised the corners of his mouth high, grinning so hard that his teeth were visible, and made faces at her.

"Yes, yes, you are the cutest." Yan Cuo looked at her helplessly. She was always so childish, never on guard against anyone, giving everything completely and never considering herself.

Who would have thought that a girl like this would have such a family? But this also proves that her father gave all his love to her, so she grew up to be such an innocent and straightforward woman.

Children who grow up in love have the purest hearts and the cleanest minds.

The sorrow that had been bothering him for a long time was cleared up by her in just a few words. On the way back, Yancuo's mind was clear, and he no longer had the sorrow he had when he left.

I already have so much, why should I worry about it?

When I got home, I saw my uncle and aunt looking a little worried. I smiled at them and said playfully, "Aunt, what are you having for lunch? I'm hungry."

Zhong Hongmei was a little dazed. Yan Cuo had been lacking interest in everything these days. It was rare to see her so happy now.

It took him a while to react, "What do you want to eat? I'll buy it for you."

"I want to eat fish. Thank you for your hard work, aunt. I'm going upstairs to study." After saying that, she walked upstairs. Zhong Hongmei looked at her figure and seemed to be hesitant to speak.

When Yancuo was about to go upstairs, she spoke up, "Yancuo, don't put so much pressure on yourself. Just do your best and don't put too much pressure on yourself. You've lost a lot of weight recently. We are all heartbroken when we see you."

Yan Cuo turned his head to look at her and nodded, "I know, aunt, you have worked hard and have to take care of my emotions. I have adjusted myself and will continue to move forward and will not embarrass you."

"Be good to yourself. Your health is the most important thing, and your happiness is the most important thing." Zhong Hongmei was still a little worried and couldn't help but remind him.

"Okay, thank you, aunt." Then he went back to his room and closed the door.

Watching Yan Cuo's figure disappear at the stairs, Zhong Hongmei sighed slightly. This child was too worried and put too much pressure on herself. She was afraid that she could not recover. Now that she saw her recover, she felt relieved.

Shaking off the thoughts in her mind, Zhong Hongmei quickly went out and prepared to buy a fish to supplement her nutrition.
