Chapter 13 Forced to Forget

Ever since that stunning glimpse, Su He has always been absent-minded. Yan Cuo was a little worried seeing her like this. She asked Yu Muyang several times and found out that Gu Xuran had a childhood sweetheart and they had a very good relationship.

Su He was quiet for a moment after hearing this. The girl's admiration had ended before it had even officially begun. She felt a little ridiculous. The excitement she had felt for so long had been nothing but a false joy.

She returned to her previous life, going to and from school every day, and never looked for him again. But occasionally when she passed by the senior high school building, she couldn't help but look towards the classroom where he was.

She was a little unwilling, but helpless. She was no longer as heartless as before, and often sat alone in a daze.

The sports meet was about to begin, and the homeroom teacher was actively giving everyone pre-game instructions. The class life committee member prepared a large box of mineral water and plenty of towels to provide logistical support for the athletes.

Yan Cuo and Su He are both in intense practice. Although the head teacher said that grades are not important, grades are related to the honor of a class after all, and they both want to win glory for the class.

The day the sports meet began was sunny and bright. Yan Cuo and Su He put on their sportswear, wore their number plates, and sat in their seats, quietly watching the other students competing.

Not far away, she saw Gu Xuran. He was still as gentle as ever, sitting on the podium, saying something to the students who had come.

She looked for a while, and suddenly felt the sight of someone in the distance. She raised her head slightly and met those beautiful eyes. She immediately turned her head away, not wanting to look at them.

Gu Xuran also withdrew his gaze at this moment and continued to explain the rules of the game to the students in front of him seriously.

That glance just now made Su He feel uneasy. She knew that she shouldn't look at him anymore, shouldn't pay attention to him anymore. She was a little angry at herself for not living up to her expectations. She had never been like this before. When did she become so unfamiliar with herself?

Soon, the 800-meter women's long-distance race began. Yan Cuo and Su He each stood in their own lane. At the sound of a gunshot, the students ran out like arrows from a bow.

Yan Cuo remembered Yu Muyang's words and didn't run fast at first. Instead, he conserved his energy and ran more steadily. Su He was still uneasy and slowly fell behind.

Yancuo was a little worried, but he had no choice but to run first and ask her after the race. During the second lap, many people were already panting, and Yancuo slowly increased his speed and slowly overtook them.

The time for the final sprint arrived, and the students all began to exert their strength. Yan Cuo was in the final sprint when someone shouted, "Su He was knocked down!" She hurriedly looked back and saw Su He lying on the ground with a look of pain on his face.

Yan Cuo hurried to help her up. Her hand was now broken and bleeding. Yan Cuo didn't care about the game, he helped her up and walked to the infirmary.

Yan Cuo helped her to the infirmary. As they watched the school doctor disinfect and bandage her, Su He's eyes were dull, as if what was happening in front of her had nothing to do with her.

Seeing her like this, Yan Cuo felt both angry and distressed: "What happened to you? How did you get knocked down?" Su He shook her head. "I accidentally ran into her track. I don't blame her." "What's wrong? Does it still hurt?" Yan Cuo looked at her hand, feeling quite distressed for the girl. "It's okay. It doesn't hurt at all. Don't worry. If you come to help me, your grades will not count. Is it worth it?"

Yan Cuo looked at the girl in front of him and said, "What's not worth it? You are very important to me. I can do anything for you. Promise me that you will get better soon. You are so good, there will definitely be someone who likes you."

Su He looked at her and nodded gently. Even for Yan Cao, he should become strong and not indulge in sadness.

After they bandaged the wound, they prepared to leave and return to the playground. As soon as they walked out of the infirmary, they saw Gu Xuran running towards them in a hurry: "Su He, are you okay? I saw you fell."

Su He looked up at him. There was some worry in the boy's eyes. She pretended to be calm, looked up at him with a smile: "I'm fine, thank you for your concern, we're leaving, goodbye." After that, she left with Yan Cuo.

The boy stood there, looking somewhat bewildered, with the red potion in his hand, and just watched them leave.

Yan Cuo helped Su He back to the rest area. The head teacher and classmates gathered around him: "Are you okay, Su He? Are you feeling unwell?" Su He smiled apologetically: "I'm fine. I'm sorry for holding the class back."

The head teacher looked at her gently and said, "I've said it before, grades don't matter. The most important thing is that you are okay." Su He was a little touched and nodded heavily.

There were still many games to come. Yan Cuo sat with Su He and said softly, "What's wrong with you today? You look absent-minded. What are you thinking about?"

Su He looked into the distance and saw many of his classmates running hard. He felt confused for the first time. He had agreed to give up, so why would they be defeated by his gaze?

She covered her eyes with her hands. They felt hot, as if tears were about to fall out. She blinked hard, trying to suppress the feeling.

She looked at Yan Cuo and leaned gently on her shoulder. "Yan Cuo, tell me, why is it so hard to like someone? Before, I didn't know he had a girlfriend, so I could pursue him recklessly. But now that I know, I can't go against my conscience. I've thought about giving up on him countless times, but I really can't. What do you think I should do?"
