Chapter 52: Watch her smile and play with her

Lunch was quickly finished. Su He and Gu Xuran took the initiative to take on the task of washing the dishes. The two of them carried the dishes to the kitchen. Gu Xuran was responsible for washing and Su He was responsible for rinsing. The two cooperated in an orderly manner and finished cleaning up in a short while.

Su He pulled her out of the kitchen. Su Changsheng was sitting in the living room watching TV. He saw them come out and invited them to watch TV together. Gu Xuran was about to walk over when Su He suddenly stopped him and looked at his father. "Dad, I'm going to take Gu Xuran to my room. Let him see where I grew up."

Su Changsheng looked at her helplessly, "Okay, okay, go ahead. Do you want any fruit? I'll prepare it for you."

Gu Xuran was about to refuse, but Su He spoke first: "Watermelon, please. Thanks, Dad. Let's go upstairs first." After that, he took Gu Xuran's hand and ran upstairs.

Opening the door, Su He's little house appeared before Gu Xuran's eyes. The room was small, but it looked very warm. The blue and pink decorations were especially suitable for this lovely girl. Thinking of Su Changsheng's instructions to her, Gu Xuran was somewhat moved. This man was extremely good to Su He, and that was why he raised her to be such a charming and lovely girl.

Su He pulled him to sit in front of the bed, ready to show him some of her collections. Gu Xuran looked at the girl excitedly taking out the big box and felt a little excited.

The box had not been opened for a long time and had accumulated some dust. Su He wiped it off carefully and opened it carefully. Inside were toys from his childhood and many childhood photos.

Gu Xuran took a look and saw many Barbie dolls inside. They looked a little old, but very clean and looked well-kept. Seeing Su He holding them like babies, Gu Xuran was a little amused.

"You loved Barbie dolls so much when you were a kid."

Su He nodded and said with some pride: "These were all bought for me by my father. He was very busy when I was a child, but he never treated me badly. If others have something, I will definitely have it too."

Gu Xuran looked at the photos. Each one was of Su He and Su Changsheng. In the first photo, Su He looked like she was about six or seven years old. She was wearing a floral dress and had a ponytail. She was smiling broadly with her mouth missing front teeth.

Su He followed his gaze and slowly recalled, "This picture was taken when I was six years old. My mother left us and my father raised me alone. To be honest, the beginning was really bad, but Dad managed to hold on by himself.

In the past, every time after school, I would go to the factory to see my father. Those uncles and aunts were all very nice to me. They said that my father was a good man, but why did my mother leave him? My father was so good, why didn’t she know how to cherish him?

She just left and told my dad not to think about her or look for her.

I don't miss her at all. Why should I miss such a cruel woman? I know I look a bit like her, and I know she is very beautiful, but I just don't like her.

Daddy is such a good man, why did she abandon him? If she didn't want me, why did she give birth to me in the first place?"

Su He wiped her tears as she spoke, her voice becoming more and more choked. Gu Xuran held her in his arms and comforted her softly.

"Susu, it's okay. I will always be with you and your uncle from now on. You will never be alone."

Su He finally couldn't help crying loudly. Her crying voice reached the ears of Su Changsheng downstairs. He hurried upstairs and opened the door in a hurry.

"Su He, what's wrong with you? Did he bully you?"

Su He looked up at his father, his voice still choking, but he still spoke to comfort the worried man. "Dad, I'm fine, he didn't bully me. I just looked at the old photos and felt a little sad. Don't worry."

Su Changsheng glanced at the opened box in front of him, his expression suddenly becoming heavy. After a long while, he spoke, "Then don't be sad. This is Xiao Gu's first time at home, and she cried like a baby."

Su He looked at his father, wiped his tears vigorously, and nodded, "I understand, Dad, don't worry."

Su Changsheng said nothing more, and left her room and walked into the living room. He couldn't help but flip through the photo again, looking at the woman in it, his voice hoarse and a little painful.

"After all these years, can't you even come to see us once? Look at Su He crying like this for you, can you really bear it?"

The woman in the photo still had a calm expression, without a trace of emotion. Su Changsheng suddenly laughed, laughing at himself for still harboring delusions about her.

He picked up the photo and threw it into the trash can. Just forget everything in the past. What's the point of remembering it? It will only add to the pain.

Maybe she is living a good life now, having found someone she truly loves and someone she can devote her life to.

I have never been the right person. This mistake should end. I should let it go and completely forget her.

Su Changsheng glanced at the place where the photo frame was previously placed. It was now bare. After a moment of silence, he found a photo of himself and Su He and placed it there.

This family just has me and my daughter. We live happily together and have nothing to lack. My daughter is no worse than anyone else.

Su He was lying obediently in Gu Xuran's arms at this moment. She had stopped crying long ago and let Gu Xuran wipe her tears.

Gu Xuran felt a little distressed. Seeing the girl looking at him with red eyes, he felt helpless. "Don't cry like this next time. You don't know how much I feel."

Su He blinked, looking at him with sparkling eyes. "I know. I won't do it again next time."
