Yu Ruhai and his wife continued chatting with Yu Hui for a while, then stood up, said goodbye and prepared to leave.
Yu Hui stopped them, her expression somewhat painful, her mouth opening and closing for a long time before she uttered those words.
"When you see Yancuo, please help me say sorry. I owe her this after all these years, and it's time to pay her back."
Yu Ruhai looked at the woman in front of him and nodded after a long while. "I understand. I will pass on your words. But if you really feel sorry for her, it's better for you to make amends yourself."
Yu Hui nodded, looked out the window, and became a little dazed.
"I regret it. I regretted it a long time ago. But after all these years, I thought I didn't care about her at all. But who knows, who knows?"
She began to talk to herself, "This is all my fault. I must pay for the sins I committed."
Zhong Hongmei looked at her with some worry, and comforted her softly before leaving with Yu Ruhai.
Along the way, Zhong Hongmei was thinking about this question, and looked at Yu Ruhai with some suspicion, "Ruhai, do you think I really regret it? She was so cruel to Yan Cuo back then, and now she wants to make amends, but Yan Cuo probably won't be able to accept it."
Yu Ruhai wasn't entirely sure either. He looked at her with some comfort and said, "Mother and daughter are destined to be together. I believe their bond is just shallow. After all, there's still a thread connecting them."
Zhong Hongmei nodded and said nothing more. The two of them returned home quickly. The house was quiet, without a sound. Just when they thought Yan Cuo was not at home, they heard a low, suppressed cry coming from her room.
They rushed in and saw Yan Cuo hugging her, suppressing her tears, her face soaked with tears. Zhong Hongmei hurried forward to hug her, "Yan Cuo, what's wrong with you? Did you really go to the hospital today?"
Yan Cuo nodded, his voice a little hoarse, "I just want to go and see what this child looks like and how she will treat this child.
I saw that she was full of love for the child, and her face was full of something that she didn't have towards me.
For so many years, I never knew why, why they hated me, why they didn't love me. Until I saw that child, I finally understood.
After all, it's not love, so there's no reason. My birth wasn't what they wanted, so whatever I did was wrong."
Zhong Hongmei hugged her tightly, feeling uncomfortable because of her crying. "Yancuo, don't think about it, don't think about it, it's all in the past, you still have your uncle and aunt, we will all be with you. Didn't you say that we are your family? Don't cry, your aunt's heart will break if you cry anymore."
Yu Ruhai also began to persuade, "Yancuo, your aunt is right. You are grown up now, and the world will become wider and wider in the future. We must learn to look forward. Your mother is old now. She told us that she regrets it and wants your forgiveness. What do you think?"
Yan Cuo raised his head and looked at them. "If mistakes can be made up for so easily, then what are all these years? Grandma raised me alone for so many years, and they didn't care about me. Now they say they regret it, but what are all these years worth?"
Yu Ruhai was so shocked by the determination in his eyes that he was speechless for a moment. He looked at the girl seriously. She had gradually shed her childishness and now looked more mature, revealing her edge bit by bit.
He thought for a while, looked at Yancuo and said solemnly, "Yancuo, don't worry, no matter what decision you make, your aunt and I will absolutely support you. Don't feel pressured. Remember not to hide and cry secretly next time. Your aunt and I feel bad when we see it.
If you encounter something sad, just tell us. Even though we are old, we can still be a good listener. "
Yan Cuo looked at the people in front of her with gratitude. These two people were not her parents but they were better than her parents. They taught her a lot, allowing her to slowly learn to let go, learn to grow, and learn to make herself better.
If there is anyone in this world who is worth a lifetime of gratitude, besides grandma, it is them.
She wiped away her tears and looked at them with a smile, "Uncle and aunt, I understand. Don't worry, I will never cry secretly again. I will tell you if there is anything in the future so that you won't worry."
Zhong Hongmei finally felt relieved. She looked at her with some anger and said, "Look at you. When I came back, I saw you crying. It made me so heartbroken. I will never have my own children in this life. I have already treated you as my own child. What mother wants to see her child cry? Tell me."
Yan Cuo hugged her arm ingratiatingly and said coquettishly, "I know I was wrong, aunt, and I won't do it again. To express my repentance, I will go and cook for you."
Zhong Hongmei stood up smartly and refused with a look of disgust, "No, no, you should study hard and don't try to cook anymore. It's not suitable for you."
Yu Ruhai also laughed at an inappropriate time. Yancuo suddenly felt embarrassed and looked at his uncle with frustration. "Am I really that bad at cooking?"
Yu Ruhai hurriedly denied it, "Of course not, don't think too much, your aunt is worried that you are tired. Stay in your room well, I will call you when the meal is ready." After saying that, he walked out of her room and closed the door considerately.
Yan Cuo sighed, remembering the chaotic scene when he tried to cook last time, and had to give up the idea. He didn't have the talent, so he decided not to mess around.
Everything that happened before seemed to have disappeared into thin air, and Yan Cuo no longer felt the sadness and grief he had felt before.
