Chapter 69 An unusual summer

After that, there was silence all the way. Zhong Hongmei was not good at speaking and usually acted fierce. She knew her temper well and didn't know how to start a conversation for a while.

When I think about it carefully, I have lived for more than 40 years, and this is the first time I am a mother to someone, and I am still a teenage girl. I am still a little nervous, always afraid that I have missed something or not taken good care of the child.

Fortunately, we have been living in peace for the past few years. The child is sensible and obedient, which brings me a lot of comfort. This small family has become more and more like a home.

Thinking all the way, they soon arrived at the station. Su He was already waiting there. She greeted her from a distance and then hurried over. Su Changsheng looked at his daughter's anxious look, pressed his eyebrows helplessly, and stood there waiting for her.

Su He rushed over quickly and hugged Yan Cuo tightly. When they stood still, they realized there was another person next to them. They suddenly became nervous, "Uncle, Aunt, you came with Yan Cuo today."

Zhong Hongmei looked at the girl in front of her and said "hmm" lightly. Seeing Su Changsheng in the distance, she walked up and greeted him.

"Lao Su, you should also send the children to the station."

Su Changsheng nodded, looking at Su He's headache, "Look at her. She's such a grown-up girl, but she's still so reckless. I really don't know what to do. If only I had your Yancuo, I'd have no more worries."

When Su He heard this, her face flushed red, and she angrily retorted: "You're talking nonsense. How can I be worry-free? Do you not love me anymore? Do you think Yancuo is better than me?"

Su Changsheng tried to coax her helplessly, "How could that be, my little ancestor? But when you go out, you still have to control your temper and be calm."

Su He snorted angrily, picked up her luggage and walked towards the waiting hall without even looking at the man behind her.

"We're going to the waiting room. The bus will be here soon. You can go back first." After saying that, he strode away without paying any attention to Su Changsheng's call.

Yan Cuo was pulled away by her, and he did not forget to turn around and say goodbye to them: "Aunt, Uncle Su, you two go back first, we are going to wait for the bus. The sun is so strong, you should go back early to avoid getting a heat stroke."

Zhong Hongmei and Su Changsheng just stood there, watching the two girls leave hand in hand, and couldn't help but feel a little emotional.

"This child has really grown up." Zhong Hongmei said in a trance, not knowing whether she was talking to the people around her or to herself.

"You've grown up. Back then, you were just a little girl who acted like a spoiled child in my arms. Now you've grown into a big girl. I'm getting old too."

The two middle-aged men smiled at each other and left together.

Yan Cuo and Su He were sitting in the waiting room waiting. The weather was extremely hot and they were all sweating. Yan Cuo found some tissues and both of them wiped the sweat off their bodies.

There was no air conditioning in the waiting hall. There were only two electric fans above the head that were blowing loudly, but they didn't bring any coolness. The whole hall was bustling with people, and everyone coming and going was carrying the summer heat.

This summer seems to be hotter than previous years, but it has a special meaning for Yan Cuo and the others.

This summer is the most important moment, which determines where they will be next summer.

The two of them fanned themselves with their hands, but still couldn't resist the heat. Sweat kept coming out of their heads. Su He simply gave up and sat in the chair feeling a little discouraged.

"It's so hot!" She was like a lion with its fur standing on end. Her neatly combed hair was soaked with sweat, and she looked a little disheveled.

Seeing her irritable look, Yan Cuo couldn't help but smile, "Just get in the car, it's air-conditioned."

Su He leaned against her dejectedly and stopped talking. The cold drinks he had bought before were no longer cool at this moment. They felt a little warm to the touch, making people have no urge to drink them at all.

They looked towards the direction of the bus, their hearts filled with anticipation. Finally, the familiar bus slowly drove into the station entrance. Su He stood up, picked up her luggage, and walked towards the waiting area.

Yan Cuo followed closely behind, clutching the luggage in his hands tightly, fearing that he would be squeezed out. There were many people waiting for the bus. As soon as the bus stopped, a large group of people rushed up. Su He was squeezed to the front. She looked at Yan Cuo behind her and became anxious. "Yan Cuo, I'll save a seat for you first, you go put your luggage."

Yancuo nodded at her, put away his luggage, and got in the car. As soon as they stepped into the car and felt the coolness of the air conditioner, they felt alive again. After getting up early in the morning, they were both a little tired and fell into a light sleep in their seats.

It was very noisy in the car, with the sound of children crying from time to time, and then the sound of a woman shouting and cursing.

Yan Cuo slept very uneasily, with a dull headache. He felt like he couldn't open his eyes at all and could only fall into an uneasy dream.

After an unknown amount of time, the train arrived at the station. People on the train began to get off one after another, and the noisy carriage began to return to silence. Su He looked at Yan Cuo who was still sleeping soundly and pushed her, "Yan Cuo, wake up quickly, we've arrived."

Yan Cuo suddenly woke up, his eyes still a little hazy, "Are we there yet?"

Su He stood up and said, "Yeah, we're almost getting off the bus, and we still have to get our luggage."

Yan Cuo rubbed his eyes and followed her out of the car. Looking at the familiar place in front of them, the two sighed, wiped the sweat from their faces, and resigned themselves to their fate, pulling their suitcases all the way to the school.

They soon arrived at the dormitory. It was quiet, and no one else had arrived yet. Yan Cuo went to open the window to ventilate. Su He turned on the electric fan and lay motionless on the bed. "Oh my God, I'm so tired. I just want to lie down and die."

Yan Cuo also lay down. He had gotten up early in the morning and was indeed a little tired. The fan was blowing above his head, bringing some rare coolness to this small space.

After lying down for a while, the sound of girls talking could be heard from the corridor. Everyone came in one after another. Yan Cuo stood up and nudged Su He: "Get up, let's clean the dormitory, put the luggage away, and go out for dinner."

Su He howled for a while, but still got up obediently. The two of them cleaned the dormitory, took out the things in the suitcase, packed them up, and then prepared to go downstairs.

The cafeteria did not provide lunch at noon, so they had to eat outside the school gate. The afternoon sun was scorching. Su He seemed to have suddenly thought of something. He rummaged through the suitcase and finally took out a small bottle of something that looked very small.

She asked Yan Cuo to turn around and sprayed at her. Yan Cuo looked at her in confusion, then she sprayed at herself before putting it back.

"The sun is so strong! Don't underestimate this! My dad bought me some sunscreen. I don't want to get tanned this summer."

Yan Cuo smiled and nodded, and the two of them went downstairs together, walking in the shade of trees and covering their faces with their hands.
