The next morning, Su Changsheng took Su He to the market and bought a lot of vegetables, looking forward to Gu Xuran's arrival. Su He was extremely excited early in the morning, walking around with his father, and soon both of them were carrying a lot of things.
By the time they finished shopping, it was almost noon. The sun was blazing down on the earth. Su He and her father were sweating profusely. They found a shady spot to cool off. Su Changsheng looked at his daughter, who looked tired but still happy. He couldn't help but feel helpless: "Do you really like him that much?"
Su He uttered an "ah" and didn't hear clearly what her father had just said. Su Changsheng had a look of resentment on his face, as if a grown-up girl was no longer to be kept. "Where has your soul gone? Even when your father is in front of you, he is still thinking about that brat."
Su He felt a little shy after hearing what her father said, but she still refused to admit it. "Dad, no, I don't miss him."
"Look at you, with such an expectant expression on your face, if you're not thinking about him, who are you thinking about? Are you thinking about me?"
Su He stamped her feet in shame and glared at her father, "Dad!"
Seeing her like this, Su Changsheng stopped teasing her and picked up the things in his hand again, "Can we still go? Let's go back. He will arrive later and we won't be home yet."
Su He responded quickly and followed his father towards home.
At the entrance of the alley in front of his house, Su He heard a few aunts gathered together to discuss something. When they saw Su He and his friends coming back, they surrounded them and asked, "There's a handsome young man at your door. Is he here to see you?"
Upon hearing the news, Su He hurried home, leaving Su Changsheng smiling awkwardly at the neighbor, "That boy is Su He's boyfriend. He's visiting our house today."
The neighboring aunties all showed envious expressions, "That boy doesn't look bad. Your Su He has good taste."
Su Changsheng felt a little proud after hearing this, and smiled sheepishly, "As long as the children like each other, we as parents are happy."
As he prepared to continue walking forward, he said goodbye to his neighbor and said, "See you later. I'm going back to cook for them first."
The neighbor aunt nodded and left, but she kept smacking her lips as she left, and I didn't know what she was saying.
When Su Changsheng returned home, he saw Su He sitting on the sofa with a boy. They were talking about something, both with happy faces.
Seeing Su Changsheng come in, Gu Xuran stood up hurriedly, looking a little reserved: "Uncle, this is my first time here, and I don't know what you like, so I brought you some supplements, I hope you like them."
Su Changsheng looked at the pile of things on the table, feeling somewhat relieved, but still looking at him seriously, "Don't bring so many things next time. It's enough to show your thoughtfulness. We don't lack anything at home. As long as you treat Su He well, I'll be very happy."
Gu Xuran grabbed Su He's hand, quite excited, "Uncle, don't worry, I will definitely treat Su He well and will never bully her. Don't worry."
Su Changsheng nodded, looked at them and said, "Then you guys play for a while, I'll go cook for you."
Gu Xuran quickly said: "Uncle, let me help you."
Su Changsheng looked at him for a while, seemingly unconvinced: "Can you cook?"
Gu Xuran scratched his head a little embarrassedly, "I'm not really good at it, but I can still help you."
Su Changsheng looked at him and smiled. "Forget it, you should just chat with Su He. Otherwise, if you come, Su He will definitely follow you. The kitchen is not big, and it will be too crowded for three people."
Su He looked at her father shyly. Her father had an expression that said "I know everything" on his face, and then went into the kitchen.
Only Gu Xuran and Su He were left in the living room. They hadn't seen each other for a long time and had a lot to say, but they didn't know how to start, and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.
"that......"
"that......"
They both spoke at the same time, then smiled at each other.
"You go first."
"You speak first."
They spoke together again, and this time both of them laughed heartily. Su He pointed at him and kept laughing, "You, you, you, you go first."
Gu Xuran also smiled, "Okay, then I'll talk first. I'm already very familiar with the company's business now, and I'll have time to accompany you in the future."
Su He looked at him in surprise, "Really?"
Gu Xuran nodded silently, "Of course it's true. I said I would do my best and come to see you as soon as possible. How could I go back on my word?"
Su He was delighted but also felt distressed. "Are you usually tired from work? Do you feel unwell?"
Gu Xuran shook his head. "It's okay, nothing happened. I'm still so young and in good health."
Su He finally felt relieved and kept staring at him.
Gu Xuran felt a little uneasy when she looked at him, so he sat closer to her and asked, "What do you want to tell me?"
Su He's mind was blank at the moment, and he couldn't remember what he wanted to say to her. "I, I, I forgot."
As she spoke, she patted her head, feeling rather annoyed. Gu Xuran grabbed her hand and placed it in his own palm, "It's okay, if you can't remember, just think about it slowly. Anyway, there's still a lot of time, I'll be with you today."
He gently held her in his arms, feeling this petite person in his arms, and he felt that his heart was filled with joy at this moment.
It would be nice if it could go on like this forever, without separation or leaving.
Su He nestled in his arms like this, and the two of them made noises from time to time. Bursts of laughter came from the living room. Su Changsheng smiled in the kitchen. He was satisfied that his daughter was happy.
