Chapter 71 Confrontation

Chapter 71 Confrontation

"Yes, it's He Lian who is causing trouble for you. You made her unhappy. If she doesn't cause trouble for you, who else will she cause trouble for? You just have to bear with it." Han Que said in a light tone with a playful smile.

Gu Ningwei frowned, his face cold. He walked over, stared at Han Que with his eyes downcast, and said in a bad tone: "Han Que, what do you mean? Why do you say that? Are you laughing at me?"

"How dare I?" Han smiled and made a face, avoiding his inquiring gaze guiltily.

Gu Ningwei paced back and forth in the office a few times in frustration. Then he stopped, looked back at her, and said in a warning tone, "Han Que, there's something wrong with your stance!"

"What's my position? It's none of my business." Han muttered in a low voice.

"Han Que, you're here again. What do you mean it's none of your business? Isn't my business your business?" Gu Ningwei frowned at her. "You have to separate yourself from me so clearly."

"That depends on what it is. I'm on your side when it comes to work, but as for everything else..." Han smiled and blinked, "That's hard to say."

"No matter what happens, you have to stand by my side." Gu Ningwei gritted his teeth, nodded, and threatened with a smile: "Be careful."

"Okay, I understand." Han didn't want to discuss this issue with him any further, knowing that another argument would ensue. So she walked back to the door and saw that Gu Ningwei's eyes were still following her. She smiled back and said, "Okay, Master, don't be angry. It's my fault. I have to get busy. You stay here alone and think about it slowly. Okay?"

After saying this, he wanted to slip away.

"Han Que." Gu Ningwei glared at her and said unhappily, "Stop right there."

Han had no choice but to stand by the door with his hand on the door handle.

Gu Ningwei walked over to her side, closed the door, and locked it with a click. He took her arm, exerted a little force, and pulled her into his arms. He held her waist, touched her nose, and said with a double meaning, "Want to slip away? It won't be that easy."

Han struggled to get out of his arms, "Gu Ningwei, what are you doing? You're still at work." Her tone was coquettish, her expression was charming, and her eyes were clear.

Gu Ningwei pressed her tightly against the door frame. His throat tightened and a biting itch passed through his heart. His lips slowly pressed against her cherry-pink ear and rubbed it. The red mole on her earlobe was as red as a plum. The scattered hair rose and fell with his hot breath, which was very itchy.

Han whimpered and dodged him. "It's so itchy."

Gu Ningwei chuckled softly, opened his mouth and took her ear in, carefully tracing the shape of her earlobe with the tip of his tongue. The hot air from his mouth made half of her cheek red, but Han struggled in his arms to get out, but after trying for a long time, she failed.

Instead, Gu Ningwei let go of her and smiled. When Han was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Gu Ningwei pushed her against the door. He pressed forward, his body pressed against hers, pressing her down. One hand reached out in front, pulled out the shirt she had tucked into her skirt, climbed up along the delicate skin of her waist and abdomen, and his fingertips picked up the silky fabric and held it tightly.

Han murmured softly, "Don't..."

"I told you to be careful." Gu Ningwei reminded her while sucking on her earlobe, "It's too late to wake up now."

As he spoke, his other hand lifted the hem of her suit skirt, reached in, and went straight to the deepest part of her secret place, kneading and twisting it gently. After a while, Han was panting and having difficulty breathing. She begged for mercy and groaned, asking him to let go.

The man behind her ignored her and became more aggressive. Han heard a "click" and the sound of a belt buckle, and then felt his hot body slowly and domineeringly pushing forward from behind until it finally penetrated her.

Afterwards, Han Que leaned weakly on Gu Ningwei's lap. She took the cigarette from his mouth, put it between her lips and took a deep breath, smiled seductively, and blew a smoke ring in his face. Gu Ningwei smiled and took the cigarette back from her hand, held it to his lips, and warned with a chuckle: "Don't do this."

"Why not?" Han smiled and went to get it again, muttering dissatisfiedly: "I don't have a smoking habit, so I'm not allowed to take a few puffs for fun."

Gu Ningwei avoided her, glanced at her with a smile, and whispered in her ear, "If you continue like this, I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself again and you won't be able to leave this office soon."

Han was slightly startled, then understood what he meant. He said defiantly, "They say there are no broken fields in the world, but broken plows."

"Oh, you mean that?" Gu Ningwei feigned confusion and said with a wicked smile, "How about we give it a try today? Which is stronger, my plow or your field?"

Han's face flushed and he spat at him, "You're just a scoundrel."

"You're a scoundrel, so be it. I'll stick with you, so don't even think about running away." Gu Ningwei tapped her forehead.

Han was hit by what he was thinking, and he suddenly lowered his head and remained silent.

Gu Ningwei was about to say something when he heard several knocks on the office door.

He frowned and raised his voice unhappily, "What is it?"

Director Pan's voice came from outside the door, "Mr. Gu, Miss He is here."

Gu Ningwei was startled and his expression suddenly changed, but Han took the opportunity to scratch his nose, smiled, supported his shoulders, and stood up shakily from him. He walked to the glass door of the bookcase behind him, untied his messy hair, and tied it up again.

"What is she doing here at this time?" Gu Ningwei whispered dissatisfiedly.

Han was tying her hair with a hair tie. When she heard that, she smiled sweetly at him through the glass and said, "I missed you."

Gu Ningwei said, "Don't come here."

"I'm leaving and won't disturb you." Han Que tied up his hair, lowered his head to button up his shirt, picked up the folder on the table, walked to the door, unlocked it, opened the door and walked out.

Outside the door, Director Pan was no longer there. Only He Lian, wearing a charming golden halter dress with bare shoulders, was leaning against the wall with her arms folded. When she saw Han Que, she couldn't help but pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes. After a pause of more than ten seconds, she suddenly put on a kind and friendly smile: "Oh, Miss Han, you've worked hard."

Han raised his eyebrows, expressing his confusion: "Ms. He, that's not the case. I don't have any hardship."

He Lian smiled charmingly: "How can it not be hard? I heard that because of me and A Wei's matter, the entire Chengguang Group is busy. You are A Wei's most capable assistant, how can it not be hard?"

Han was slightly startled, then smiled faintly: "Miss He misunderstood. Mr. Gu didn't let me participate in the things you mentioned. He has other important things to do."

"Oh, I don't know what could be more important than what's going on between me and Awei? I'd like Miss Han to tell me about it." He Lian hit a soft nail and her face became a little embarrassed, but no matter what, she couldn't lose her composure in front of Han Que, not to mention that Gu Ningwei was still inside.

"That's a business secret. I'm sorry I can't tell you." Looking at He Lian's expression, Han smiled sweetly, "Ms. He can ask Mr. Gu directly. He's the boss, and he'll decide whether to let Ms. He know."

He Lian didn't have the upper hand, and her face was already embarrassed. She opened her mouth to say something, but Gu Ningwei walked to the door and said, "He Lian, you're just in time. I was looking for you for something."

His tone was calm, but he tilted his chin towards Han, "You go and do your thing."

Han nodded and left this place of trouble.

He Lian snorted and walked into Gu Ningwei's office in high heels. The room was still filled with the fishy smell of hormones. In the corner, a trash can was filled with crumpled tissues and used condoms.

She stood there in a daze, her face ashen.

Gu Ningwei closed the door and walked in. He walked to his desk and sat down without saying a word. It was unknown what he was thinking.

He Lian waited for a while, then sneered angrily, "Everyone's gone, and you're still reminiscing about it."

Gu Ningwei looked up at her with a calm look.

He Lian kicked the trash can in the corner and said angrily, "Gu Ningwei, this is your office, you should at least give me some face."

Gu Ningwei paused, his cold eyes swept across her face, and asked her a little confusedly: "What does this have to do with you?"

"You..." He Lian was speechless for a moment. She walked to the sofa and sat down. She lowered her head to look at the wrinkles on the leather sofa, then thought of something and moved her body in disgust.

Gu Ningwei looked at him coldly and sneered.

"Okay." After a few moments, Gu Ningwei brushed his face with his palm and asked slowly, "What brings you to me all of a sudden?"

"Can't I just come over to see you?" He Lian felt aggrieved. "Ever since that incident, you haven't contacted me. You didn't even reply to my messages. I didn't offend you, so why are you doing this to me?"

"I'm busy." Gu Ningwei said concisely.

"Ah Wei, no matter what, we are friends," He Lian looked at him flatteringly. "I've already explained to you about the photo. It wasn't me who colluded with your uncle to do it. Why don't you trust me?" She paused, her voice gradually lowering. "Besides, you promised He Jun that you would take good care of me."

"Don't mention He Jun." Gu Ningwei glanced at her.

"Why not?"

"It's you who doesn't want to hear his name again, so why mention him now? Besides, so many years have passed, I'm afraid you are no longer the same person you were back then. Why do you always use this promise to restrict me?" Gu Ningwei said sarcastically.

He Lian was speechless.

After a pause, he said, "Don't accuse me of not considering you as a friend. My financial situation is so tight, but I still allocated money to support your tour. Do you think I have money but nowhere to spend it? If I really have money but nowhere to spend it, I might as well donate it directly to a children's welfare home to save you from using charity activities as a show." His face was full of disdain.

He Lian lowered her head and said nothing. She knew Gu Ningwei's temper very well. Perhaps it was because he had lived with his mother since he was a child and did not return to Gu Zhicheng until he was a teenager. Or it was also possible that the two brothers Gu Zhicheng were just nouveau riche who had made their fortune from scratch and had not received the education that she had been exposed to since she was a child.

Gu Ningwei didn't know that ever since the scandal between him and Han Que was exposed, the He family was not in favor of continuing the marriage. They had no shortage of potential marriage partners, but they also didn't want to get involved in the Gu family's mess. If Gu Zhiguang hadn't sworn in front of her grandfather that he would never bring any negative impact to the He family, and if he hadn't insisted on it, their business marriage might not have reached this point.

He Lian herself couldn't explain why she insisted on the arranged marriage, but she knew that once the arranged marriage was announced to the public, she would inevitably lose her previous freedom.

"Ah Wei, I know you consider me a friend, that's why you spent money to buy my paintings. You've been sincere to me for so many years, and I don't want to lose you as a friend."

Gu Ningwei raised his eyebrows and glanced at her, "I treat you as a friend, but you don't treat me as a friend."

"What about me?" She opened her mouth to argue.

"Alright. You don't need to explain." Gu Ningwei waved his hand to interrupt her, stood up, and walked in front of her. "He Lian, I know exactly who you are, even better than you do. So I still have to advise you," Gu Ningwei said coldly: "Don't play those little tricks in front of me. I feel so tired just watching you."

He sneered mercilessly. He Lian blushed, but said stubbornly, "When did I ever play tricks on you?"

"You know best whether you're playing tricks or not. But..." Gu Ningwei paused, frowning slightly: "There's just one thing I don't understand."
