Chapter 89 Audit
Two weeks later, at Gu Ningwei's urging, Wu Wenhui finally submitted a report on the deaths of owners during the delivery of real estate in H County.
The report insisted that Zhang Yuming's death was caused by personal reasons and had nothing to do with the company, but it still acknowledged the fact that a mass incident occurred due to delayed project delivery.
When Gu Zhicheng saw the report, he became furious and threw the teacup.
Chengguang Jiayuan in H County is the project he has the highest hopes for.
The total development area of the project is not large, which means that the total capital demand is not large. When the project was first established, Gu Zhicheng finally listened to Gu Ningwei's advice and asked the design unit to design it according to the requirements of urgently needed housing, with small unit size, low total price, simple and elegant layout, and very practical.
When the project was launched, it coincided with H County's investment promotion, industrial upgrading, and large-scale land demolition. The people had urgent needs and demolition funds, so the project was highly recognized by the market as soon as it was launched, with enthusiastic subscriptions and a fast capital recovery.
Gu Zhicheng once said that he finally had a project that could be self-sustaining and did not need financial support from the group. He never expected that it would end up in the situation it is today.
Moreover, extreme incidents were not reported in a timely manner, and he felt a deep sense of crisis out of control.
Wu Wenhui finally realized that the matter was serious and made a special trip to the group to report it in person.
In the conference room, there were only Gu Zhicheng and his son Gu Ningwei, but not Gu Zhiguang.
Wu Wenhui was secretly surprised. He certainly didn't know that half an hour before he arrived, Jiang Jin went to Gu Zhiguang to report on his work, saying that Shunxin Company was extremely uncooperative and was raising the price.
Gu Zhiguang became anxious when he heard this, and hurried to meet Shunxin with Jiang Jin.
"I just don't know where your money has gone? Where's the money? The construction company is refusing to start construction due to delayed payment of the project funds due to insufficient funds. How dare you, Wu Wenhui, say such a thing?" Gu Zhicheng slammed the table and got angry.
"Director Gu, I know this project will have a quick payback, but when we need funds, the finance department won't approve them. Our project payment requests take over ten days or even a month to process through OA, and in the end, they're lucky to only get half the money. We went to ask about it, but the finance department said they need to ensure the funds are sufficient for the entire group and asked us to consider the overall situation. What do you think I should do?"
Wu Wenhui also felt very aggrieved. The funds were centrally allocated by the group, and he, as the general manager of this project, had no financial power.
Gu Zhicheng was so choked that he was speechless. He knew that the finance department was now robbing Peter to pay Paul, and that even if there was money coming in, there might not be money going out.
He himself had scolded Director Lin for these things, but Old Lin just spread his hands, looking like a good cook cannot cook without rice.
"What about the construction company? Can't you ask them to advance the funds?" Gu Zhicheng continued, "Didn't the construction company always advance the funds when we did projects before? Who is like you? You can't even manage a contractor, so how can you be the project manager? You are really pathetic."
"The construction company advanced the funds?" Wu Wenhui continued with a wry smile. "Who would advance the funds these days? They themselves have no money. When I told them to just start working first, they refused to move. They complained to me, saying it wasn't that they didn't want to move. Now even migrant workers are paid daily, otherwise they won't work."
"Are migrant workers so awesome?" Gu Zhicheng widened his eyes, obviously not believing it.
"Labor costs are high nowadays, and no one is willing to do this kind of hard and tiring work," Gu Ningwei said on the side.
Gu Zhicheng glared at him and asked Wu Wenhui, "Then there is no other way?"
"Director Gu, it's not that I don't want to find a solution, but the final payment for the project we took on before we started construction has yet to be settled. The budget department can take four or five years to review the final accounts, and after that they have to be sent out for external audit. If this goes on for at least seven or eight years, they still won't get paid. They also said that if it weren't for the final payment with us, they wouldn't even participate in our bidding. I really have no other choice."
Wu Wenhui is a tough guy among the project general managers of the group. If he said he couldn't deal with the construction unit, then you can imagine how difficult it would be.
Gu Zhicheng didn't know what to say for a moment. He just lowered his head and paced back and forth like a wolf trapped in a cage.
Gu Ningwei looked at him coldly from the side, looking like a trapped beast. The old man had aged a lot in recent years and was obviously tired.
A trace of pity passed through his heart.
The situation is hopeless, who can really turn the tide?
A big shot in the industry who is bigger, has more projects and is more famous than them has just made a shocking revelation, the severity of which is shocking.
"Let the Audit Department do an audit." After a moment of silence, Gu Ningwei suggested.
"Audit Department?" Gu Zhicheng frowned. "What can they audit? They keep harping on trivial matters. If they go there, the entire construction site will be shut down."
"If you don't want them to go down for the audit, do you want to go down yourself?" Gu Ningwei smiled.
"I'll go if I want to. It's not like I haven't been to a construction site before." Gu Zhicheng said disdainfully, "I went to construction sites every day back then. Is there any brick I haven't counted? Humph."
After hearing this, Gu Ningwei chuckled and felt speechless.
"What's the point of you going down there now? Are you really going to count bricks?"
The old man is really old and conservative in his thinking. He still wants to manage this huge team in the same way as before.
"What do you say? Who should we send?" Gu Zhicheng stared at his son sharply. "You going?"
When Wu Wenhui heard that Gu Ningwei was going, he was stunned and a trace of panic flashed across his face. He knew that it was easy to deal with Gu Zhicheng, but he really had to think carefully about dealing with Gu Ningwei.
It was obvious that Mr. Gu was not as the legend said, only fond of eating, drinking and having fun, but was very scheming. They kept the incident of Zhang Yuming jumping off the building a secret very tightly, and even asked someone to suppress the news on the Internet. H County was thousands of miles away from the group, and I really didn't know how he got the news.
"How about Mr. Gu come to our place to inspect our work?"
Wu Wenhui quickly expressed his position, saying that the more they didn't want him to go, the more they wanted to welcome him.
"I'm not going." Gu Ningwei refused.
"Look at you..." Gu Zhicheng slammed the table in anger again, "You're the one who started this thing, and now you're the one who refuses to go down to the grassroots level. What's the use of you? You're just a talker."
"I have things to do and can't leave." Gu Ningwei said, "Zhening is at a critical moment now, there are a lot of things to do, I can't handle it."
"As for your crappy company..." Gu Zhicheng shook his head, "I heard from Zhiguang that the team members have all left and the structure has fallen apart." He sighed heavily, feeling deeply that his son was not up to the standard.
Gu Ningwei did not argue.
Wu Wenhui secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but also looked disappointed. "Oh, Mr. Gu, you've never been to our place, right? We really welcome you to come and give us guidance."
"Mr. Wu, how can you still need my guidance on how to do things? You are a well-known provincial governor in the group. I admire you very much." Gu Ningwei looked at him with a smile.
He deliberately pronounced the four words "provincial governor" very clearly.
Gu Zhicheng's eyes flashed, and he turned his head and looked at Wu Wenhui deeply.
"Even high-ranking officials cannot create separatist regimes." Gu Zhicheng snorted.
Wu Wenhui quickly smiled apologetically, looking embarrassed: "Let's let the group's audit department review it. That way we can have the opportunity to correct our mistakes and learn from them."
He had to express his opinion.
Gu Ningwei agreed: "The audit department is full of professionals. Let them audit the finances and funds thoroughly. It's much better than you counting bricks."
"Okay, then let the Audit Department review it." Gu Zhicheng frowned and could only agree. After thinking for a moment, he added, "But we still need to send someone capable to lead the team. We can't rely on those nerds."
"That's true." Gu Ningwei nodded in agreement.
The audit department is now composed of Gu Zhiguang's people. Before the audit results come out, Gu Zhiguang has a grasp of everything.
"Then who should we send to lead the team?" Gu Zhicheng asked his son for his opinion.
"This person needs to understand finance, but can't be too familiar with anyone on the project..." Gu Ningwei pretended to think, and suddenly his eyes lit up: "I have an idea of someone, but you have to talk to Dad. Only you can mobilize him."
"Who is it?" Gu Zhicheng frowned.
"Jiangjin." Gu Ningwei said firmly.
"Jiang Jin?" Gu Zhicheng frowned. "Why him? Is there no one else?"
"He's the most suitable," Gu Ningwei said with a smile. "Look, he's not from the group, so he's not familiar with the major real estate projects. He has no personal feelings, which won't affect his independent judgment. He's from an investment bank, so he's the most professional in project and data judgment. Moreover, he's Ali's fiancé and my uncle's son-in-law. From an authority perspective, he won't be neglected. Do you think there's a more suitable candidate than Jiang Jin?"
Gu Ningwei finished speaking in one breath, looking at his father with a piercing gaze. The look of expectation on his face made it impossible to refuse.
Gu Zhicheng was silent for a moment and asked, "He's so busy, can he spare some time?"
Gu Zhicheng knew that Jiang Jin was very busy, and Gu Zhiguang said that he was arranging for Jiang Jin to negotiate cooperation with investors.
"So you have to go and ask for the person." Gu Ningwei said with a smile.
After get off work in the evening, Gu Ningwei and Han Que had just finished dinner in a small restaurant behind the company when Gu Ningwei received a call from Jiang Jin, asking him to meet at a bar.
Gu Ningwei turned his head and asked Han Que: "Jiang Jin wants to talk to me about something, are you going?"
Han shook his head: "Then I'll go home first. You go and talk to him. I still need to organize the information Professor Tang wants."
Gu Ningwei glanced at her with a half-smile, "Why? You still can't let him go?"
"Who?" Han was so surprised that he was speechless, shocked by Gu Ningwei's strange train of thought. "What do you mean I can't let him go? Why should I listen to you guys talking about something? It's not something that concerns me."
Gu Ningwei said, "Since you don't have any other ideas, just come with me. I'm not hiding anything from you."
Han had no choice but to say, "Just go, who's afraid of who?" Then he picked up his bag and left.
Gu Ningwei followed behind her, looked at her angry back, and smiled slightly.
When we arrived at the bar, there were not many customers and the lights were dim. Someone was singing a love song softly.
Jiang Jin had arrived first and was drinking a bottle of Budweiser alone in the corner. There was a small basket of French fries and a roasted pig's trotter on the table.
Seeing Gu Ningwei and Han Que together, he was slightly startled, nodded at them, and asked casually: "Have you eaten?"
Gu Ningwei nodded and said he had eaten.
Jiang Jin uttered an "oh" and chewed a French fry, saying, "You guys are so lucky! You even have time to eat. I've been in this crappy meeting for so long and I'm still hungry."
"Is this what you're going to eat tonight?" Gu Ningwei pulled Han Que to sit in front of him.
"Then what should I eat? If I didn't make time to meet you, I would have to make do here. There would be no one to cook when I go home." He said and glanced at Han Que.
Han snorted, turned away and ignored him.
"Just cook it yourself. How can a grown man not know how to cook? I cook for us all." Gu Ningwei said, then turned to look at Han Que: "Really? Although we don't eat at home often, Han Que still recognizes my cooking skills."
Jiang Jin was drinking and choked when he heard the sound. He coughed and put the bottle down. He picked up a napkin and wiped his lips. His eyes swept lightly across Han Que's face and snorted, "Please don't show off your love in front of me."
Gu Ningwei raised his eyebrows, a malicious smile on his lips: "How about I just lie?"
Jiang Jin turned his head away from him and sneered, "Childish."
Han frowned, seeing the two men bickering like children, and said impatiently, "Are you guys going to talk about something serious? If not, I'll leave. I can't bear to see you all so bored."
After she finished speaking, the two fell silent, looking at each other with resentment, and said in unison: "You are boring."
Han stood up and tried to leave, but Gu Ningwei pulled him back and coaxed him with a playful smile, "Okay, okay, okay, don't be angry. Jiang Jin and I have some serious business to discuss."
